Once i was playing pubg with random peoples then i got a friend from us! Then while communicating hos first word was “ do you smoke hashish? Are you from nepal?” Real thing
FYI the reporter is Richard Lindley of ITN, the film is called 'Hippies In Nepal' and it is dated Tuesday 14 November 1967 (which may be when it aired, if it ever actually did). It is most likely to have been shown 'after the break' on News At Ten. I couldn't find any archived copies so the idea that Reginald Bosanquet coined the term 'Hippie Trail' on air cannot currently be discounted. See also: A Pukka History of the Hippie Trail ...
Quick Google books search: Ravi Chawla was the Camp's manager from 1967-69 ("Far Out") so that narrows it down quite a bit. The book says the clip is probably 1967.
U know y the doors were lower those times??its coz u will b lower entering the house thus respecting everyone without knowing n also u'll surely Namaste
@@gymrat5014 nope. The above guy is right but the full story is that these types of doors were to prevent Royal people enter commoners house. Because in the past it was believed that king shouldn't lower his head because he is above all except gods. And in those times if king likes a girl, they will just forcefully take her away. So to prevent king from entering the house, they build doors like that. Also if you will see windows fully covered with small holes. It was so that the king and other high rank people won't see you from windows (in those windows, you can see outside from inside because of holes but you can't see inside from outside). It was all to hide and protect the daughters from nobles working for palace and kings as directly opposing would be death sentence. Also no people weren't short. There were both short and tall people. The original inhabitants of Kathmandu valley are newar people and they were people not just from indian subcontinent but other place too like north east, tibetan, etc. Also my grandfather was easily 5'11" ft tall and I have seen many old newar people taller than 5'6"ft which is tall for those doors. And once again it wasn't because people were short because there were many people tall for those doors and it's not just weird thing in houses of Kathmandu valley. And you go ask old people about those doors and windows, they will tell you same or similar thing (atleast most people would tell this)

This definitely looks earlier than the 1970s.
Also beatniks were not really a thing by then.
This has to be mid to late 60s.
