I recently used a Mason jar lid ring. I worked really well. It fits perfectly over the tomato paste can and packs down with the stove. I should do some tests. They really are a great backpacking stove. Nice to have the option for simmering for cooking. Great video cheers
Yes, I use mine on most trips. Made one for every EDC pack. I would like to see a picture of your stove. Thanks for watching and the tip about Manson jar lid.
@@wanderinggraybeard3985 I watched that video , but , I don't remember if He told what can He used . Thank You for responding . ( if You know what can to use please let me know . ) I use a fire box scout stove for a pot stand . I like to tune My little alcohol burner to see how MPG I can get out of 10 m/l of yellow bottle heat .
@@wanderinggraybeard3985 My burner is 1.25" w x 1.16" t w/ carbon felt wound up inside. I think it's made from a travel size hair spray can , or something similar . I can get about 10 minutes out of it as is , but if I use a angle grinder disc that fits in the scout stove I can get about 30 min. on 10 m/ l fuel .
The key is the 1/2 inch from bottom of the pan to the simmer ring. The type of can is not so important as long as it sits over and close to the burner. ua-cam.com/video/ywazkBCpdAs/v-deo.html@@johnhoward3271
These are the sites I got my info for constructing the simmer rings. Sorry I missed your Question until now. ua-cam.com/video/ajQCwVlROIw/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/LRZkdwnRks0/v-deo.html
I liked the second one but the third one was better to me because the packability is better and it took less time to reach that simmer point even though it didn't run as long . What size drill bit did you use for the holes. Anyway great video man keep up coming .

@@wanderinggraybeard3985 I tried it again. It wasn't as slow burning as the first time. I'll keep working on it thanks

I will go out and measure it. It was just a regular can. I thank corn 🌽 from our grocery store.

to get over half an hour of burn, from an ounce of alcohol is remarkable!
can you discuss the specs of the different simmer rings?

Maybe have an introduction and a conclusion and generally communicate more what's happening and what you're doing.
Yes, I should have provided more information. Thank you for the advice.
