He got picked up by Bayern Munich and then loaned out to some 2. Bundesliga clubs. Unfortunately he never made the Bayern a team and they sold him last year.

The Kiwis potentially belongs to 50-60s in the FIFA ranking and has the ability to reach the level of challenging almost any team in the world like the batch of '10.

I would say that the current squad for New Zealand has far more potential than that team they sent to the 2010 World Cup. New Zealand had no midfield in that campaign, they were all defence & counter attack, awful football.
New Zealand now has defence just as good as then and better strikers; but they also have some technically very sound midfielders. Thus they are capable of playing much better football and with more tactical options.
Yeah I would argue this is the most complete bunch of players the All Whites have had.

(They drew with world champions France in the process) Like I said before, unless the Irish can pay significantly more than the Greek FA then he wouldn't be taking up the vacancy for 'footballing reasons'.

As an Irish fan at least NZ can get to a WC, for us, we're a good few decades away from any torno qualification.
No one with Stephens resume would even get an interview for a national squad he is one hell of a nice guy but this team was wide open and there for the taking every game.

New Zealand as always have players with plenty of raw talent and they getting good technique too but they still rarely get a career together.

NZ is a team to watch, Red flag for socceroos.
Socceroos won 2-0 only a month ago.
The entire low quality Socceroos squad and Graeme Arnold’s incompetent management and negative tactics are already “big red flags for the socceroos”.
But instead they live in a delusion that they’re somehow doing well. Because they made the second round of the World Cup (never mind that that’s not really an achievement to begin with, now how they got there thanks to Denmark having a calamitous World Cup).
Not sure why NZ showing potential” should be any “red flag for the Socceroos” any more than any other national team…
@@stevemurrell6167 Yeah but that didn’t mean anything. It was just a friendly, and the NZ team was a scratch selection that a lot of their better players couldn’t commit to and with a couple of English ringers from English lower league teams. They clearly hadn’t trained much together.
