yep mostly agree on everything the base healing potion is really her best item lol The only case i have found for unyielding draught is if you enter a pig village during a full moon and have like 10 werepigs on you. having that full second shield is enough to make it so abby only takes 1 40 dmg hit. and greatly increases her survivability there against the werepigs. works decently against bunnymen too and tentacles only hit once shield is best against fast medium damage attacks which does not really exist except for the instances i mentioned.
Thank you im glad to hear it! its always nice to watch and see what other creators are doing aswell get any good advice to see how I can improve my own videos aswell@@tornadodex1366
Hey Lardee, you can also hover the potion over abigail flower (in the inventory) to apply it. No need to put yourself into risky situations. Save the situation when you'r already besides abigail
Part of why I'm excited for Wendy's skill tree. Who knows what wacky stuff they could put in there? Maybe we could even apply multiple potions to Abby at once! At least 2, and then you don't have to pick and choose between situational benefits and the always-good healing!
Distilled Vengeance seems like in theory it should be something to use against bosses - take a lot of damage, deal all that damage back. But because it's just a flat 20 instead of a scaling value based on the damage received, it's entirely redundant and useless. And on top of that, even if the damage was scaling, it would still be pretty bad because even if Abigail deals 100 damage in retaliation, she still just took 100 damage. She can only take 6 hits like that and she's down. Perhaps if in addition to your suggestion, it also reduced the damage of the initial hit that triggers the retaliation, that would make it worth using. And then, what if instead of just looking at the damage Abigail takes, the scaling damage also considers the damage that Wendy herself has received in that time (before reduction). Lean a bit more into the protective sibling flavour of "You hurt my sister, now you pay".
The shield potions have one use case: Extended spelunkey farming. They are the only mob in the game that attack in such large hordes that can make a dent in Abby if she fights too many overtime, she can handle about 2 nightmare cycles worth but past that it gets dicey without healing and even then she will get worn down over time. The shield potion negating 80% of the monkeys attacks (as they oft attack in perfect sync) gives her much more millage if you farm for several nightmare cycles. Doing this nets you obscene amounts of fruit (Bannanas), meat (Morsels) beard hair, manure and most crucially nightmare fuel. Reversing her one downside (Shadows being a pain to fight due to no Abby) into being one of the best nightmare fuel farmers in the game. The potions also have a smaller niche in clearing Beefalo herds.
It's so refreshing to see a tier list that has a sensible distribution, not heavily skewed in weird ways. Another way to buff the shield potions, could be that they also make Abigail count as a player instead of a mob for damage done to her while the potion is active.
@Lardee 137. I am not sure whether you know this but you can use potion on abigail's flower instead of her. so you don't need to panic click her than monster/boss while fighting
Be careful of what you wish for on the Distilled Vengeance improvement. Klei might program it in a way that Abigail will hit your beefalo with the shield attack.
I'm actually glad I watched this video, because I completely underestimated the use of some potions, especially revenant restorative. Also glad I learned that last thing with distilled vengeance, that the mobs need to hit the shield. Completely changes my view because I kept mistakenly making those. Thanks, Lardee.
Absolutely agree about each potion! Not sure, need testing, but only situation where shield potions theoretically could be good - is reed traps, where you can face hordes of tentacles...
Hey lardee just wanted to say that I've been a fan for a loooooong time and watching your vids always made me happy can you make a Wendy bee queen guide ?
Usually you don't need any potions to make killing them easier. But yeah it's def the best potion for catching enemies who run away alot, if you have a supply that you don't mind wasting it does save time.
Hello, Lardee 137. First of all, I would like to say that you've inspired me to pick up Wendy. And not only her, but also the Beefalo. Why this was a big deal for me, was because DST was losing my interest and Wendy + Beefalo rekindled that and for the major part it is thanks to you. You have my admiration. I have a question about Distilled Vengeance. Did you mean that the shield "reflect" damage of 20 only damages one single enemy even when there are multiple? (For example Abigail vs group of spiders). Because in other sources that I checked, it damages all enemies that attacks Abigail while the shield is active. A video example I found here shows the damage dealt. ua-cam.com/video/e2weLkKfGaw/v-deo.htmlsi=gAE48cw5BLO9nd0i&t=1803 I'm not asking this as a "gotcha" question. I needed to clarify that because of my respect and admiration towards you 🙏 But I wanted to ask you because I'd like to hear your response. You are one of my biggest source of knowledge for the game.
Hey @DavidJYuan, Thanks for the kind words friend. To answer the question about Distilled Vengeance, any enemy that hits the shield will take 20 damage (actually 22 damage since Abigail buffs attacks by 10%). What I meant by hits only a single enemy is that only a single enemy is hit every time the shield is attacked. If multiple enemies are around Abigail, but only one attacks the shield, only one enemy gets hit, not all of them. The intent was to contrast the way Distilled Vengeance does damage to the way Abigail herself does damage.
When I played Wendy I pretty much used nightshade nostrum to kill beequeen faster so yeah... Distilled vengeance I only crafted once to see how it performs and I was disappointed. Maybe instead of reflecting damage it could reduce damage abigail takes while not shielded. Your idea is cool but it would mostly work on swarms and not much else so I feel like general damage protection would be useful. Just me though. Vigor mortis I enjoyed because fast Abigail is satisfying to witness but didn't use it that much. Honestly I agree with many points you made here.
Will you make a wx circuits tierlist? (i have a lot of experience with wx, i would want to see another opinion) (ill say the electric circuit it's the weakes of them all, i dont like the concept of wasting armor and healing for extra damage, instead of a damage buff directly)

Another use for Vigor mortis:Make Abigail fast enough to catchup to mctusk
Or Krampus
