    You're such a beautiful man. I've been trying to figure this out for weeks! The way you just described it and broke it down just made it click and I picked up my hoop and did it! ( : you're my new favorite person on the internet and on the face of this Earth my dear sir!!! Keep up the hooping!! Teach me more!

    I'm a beginner, I've searched high and low and even asked some fellow hoopers to help me learn. This is the first video I've seen of yours, unfortunately I do not have my hoop to try but I will as soon as I get home! I want to thank you for explaining it in different ways, and just in how you explain it is easy for almost anyone to understand. I appreciate this, and I only hope to get as good as you are.

    Hooping is incredibly peaceful for me... I go out to my garden in the evenings... play sum music n hoop for the stars overhead.... anything that weighs heavy on my mind isn't as heavy afterwards....... and nvrmd about dallas... silly girl with just a silly question.... thanx hoopsmiles

    I had very neatly given up years of hooping because I could not get chest hooping right...but your brilliant video has worked perfectly for me! You have explained everything so carefully & I am at the stage of dancing my arms in & out! I'm still using a larger hoop to get the technique & rhythm, but the movements are getting smaller & faster with each practice. Thank you for your guiding video, my fitness & hoop enjoyment will never be the same.

    You perfect human being, you! This is the first video that has been any help to me. I have NEVER been able to get this down at all, but I watched this yesterday, made a decent amount of progress with the spinning in the direction of the hoop tip, and today did even better experimenting with foot placement, and I'm getting better at not flapping my arms or exaggerating the movement of the torso. Thank you so much for making this video!

    You are welcome. I remember once I got chest hooping down I felt pretty stoked about it. I think it can sometimes take a little bit before that chest hooping experience is smooth.

  • @hoopsmiles
    @hoopsmiles  11 років тому +1

    Thanks. You might want to practice with a different sized hoop, possibly larger. As you get better you can go back to the 36". I also recommend mastering chest hooping in both directions so when you do use your hand or arm to reverse the hoop you can hoop smoothly in the other direction. Right on. Keep up the hooping.

    I'm a 'virgin hooper'and just wanted to share that it took me 15 minutes to get my body to learn the body movements of allowing the hoop to roll smoothly over my chest arms and back.. my only problem us the hoop slowing down.. When i try to propel it, the hoop skips the rolling over my chest and/or back. Practice makes perfect so I'm not giving up, Thanks hoopsmiles!! =)

    Hi hoopsmiles...I just found your channel, and I love it. Thank you so much for the tutorial. You explain with nice voice and so nice how you talk. You are a good teacher! I could not wait to have the hoop to learn hoop on my chest and shoulder. I only have one rattan hoop. Would you please let me know what kind of hoop did you use on this video? Such as material and size of it. Thanks again and happy hooping!

    • @hoopsmiles
      @hoopsmiles  4 роки тому +1

      You are so welcome! And thank you for your kind words! I believe I used a hoop that was about a 1/2 inch wide and I would guess is about 35 inches in diameter. Though I would say that hoop wouldn't be the best for everyone to use. The size of one's body and where someone is at in their hoop journey can impact the hoop size one may need.

    Probably, it's a piece of pvc tubing from home depot that is wrapped with duct tape that has mostly worn off. It is at the YMCA where I practice. I DO need something better, really. It is 36" diameter. I am good at chest hooping in one direction and getting better at the other direction, and I can change direction back and forth but not quickly and there is just something I'm missing. ??? Thank you very much. You really are just great as a teacher. I hope to be one some day, too.
