    Ladies and gentleman on the streets of Lagos gave us their best insults for when they need to know the best way to retaliate when you are pushed to the wall and you need to have some verbal abuse ready to go.
    "Did they cook fried rice in your head?"
    "You dey mad??"
    "Firstly, an insult is not good, I feel bad when I'm insulted," says one young Nigerian man. "Any insult that attacks my mother makes me feel very bad."
    "I just say God Bless You when someone insults me because I just leave it to god!" says a young Nigerian woman.
    The definition of insult is to speak to or treat with disrespect or scornful abuse or a disrespectful or scornfully abusive remark or act.
    "It no get better for your papa, because you can swear at the person's father!"
    "Banana dey your head! You dey craze! If you want to know me, follow me, and I go break your head."
    Gist us - what are your favourite Nigerian insults?

    After 9 years of leaving Naija. I return last summer for vacation and the one thing that really got me was all the abusive words up and down. As in most of them are even funny that you laugh before you remember to get angry.

    I think the best Nigerian insult will remain the "Waka" which is accompanied by the palm and fingers spread towards the receiver of the insult. "Waka" is derived from the Hausa word "Uwarka" which means "Your mother" I think it's funny though because telling someone "Your mother" is not actually an insult. But it remains the most popular insult here in Naija.

    why the Nigerians are actors and actresses? look at these people acting like real movie. I love Naija

    • @kenslay
      @kenslay 6 років тому +4

      Varlee Jabateh Because most of those actors and actresses are the same as your average Nigerian on the street, 99% have no educational background in theatre, film or arts..That's what makes the movie authentic, what you see is Nigerian life been portrayed in film..

    I have a Nigeria boyfriend and I am from Uganda, but my concern is that we don’t speak each other’s languages I only speaks four languages English, Kiswahili, Arabic and Somalian but not Nigerian accents but we do love each other so deeply and he absolutely deserved my respects always and he appreciate it everything I done for him, his sister she’s been my best friend since 2007 until now so she knows all about my behaviours the I am concerned that her brother he was married and had a child with his ex -wife she left him with the child since he was born and run away with the money who has money and she has three children with that man. How would I know if he’s going back after her again to his ex- wife if I get married to him next year and he wants to come to Canada and have a better life here with his son? I met his family members but not his father yet he’s mother loves me so deeply including his siblings. Is not online dating or things like that most women do in this world it was absolutely his sister here in Canada introduced me to him on the phone and we are going to Nigeria this coming year. I have my own house and I have a good job that pays a lot of money so when he comes here is my responsibility to take care of him and his son while are new to Canada and I am absolutely happy to offer him and his son my support until they become a permanent resident of Canada. In all that I want is to put all my trusts in Christ I believe his sister and her husband hundred percent and they’re one going through all this about engagements and Marriages for his brother in law and me so I am a bit nervous cause I haven’t been in Nigeria before. But that I know that people are so judgmental for what others are wearing in which I don’t like it I can wear whenever I want and not what others are saying unless he’s mother said something then I can do it. Peace Nigerian see you guys this coming year I love you all! 😍❤️😘👍🏾✌🏾😇🙌🏾👌🏾
