Sorry to bust your bubble guy, but the actual easy way is to arrow him to death before you even step into the mist, by using hawk ring, feather arrows, etc. You can kill him without even entering the room..
@@TheGhostInitiative Ah, I missed that because I skipped to the battle and saw you using melee. That's the real easy way though, not using melee. Also, Sif seems pretty useless to summon on this one. He just stays way back and hardly ever hits.. even if you pull the boss near him

I love how detailed you make these. I’m never one to go for the cheese strategies but it’s good to know them because maybe I’ll wanna do them when I’m doing challenge runs and stuff, and it’s just interesting to see certain exploits like the one for manus or the Capra demon firebombs. I like how almost every guide will have 2 or 3 or even 4 different strategies to choose and you go in depth for each one. Definitely the best souls guides out there
The easy way, though you'll most likely have to be in NG+ like I was for this to be efficient, is honestly to tank everything with Havel's Great shield. I only used this shield against Artorias and Manus, as in NG+ they deal massive damage. Manus only killed me once, because I mismanaged my stam in the last stretch but by picking my shots, and blocking perfectly (I don't hold the shield up until I'm about to get hit so my stam regenerates before next christmas) it was a fairly easy fight, but a hell of a lot of fun too. I mean this guy's a tank, my BK greataxe one handed was doing >300 damage a swing and he has about 10,000 health in NG+ so no shame using Havel's shield, besides I didn't get the 50 str to weild it by sucking at the game, before this shield I used the Knight's shield for EVERYTHING. This fight reminded me of fighting Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time, it was so epic and that much fun. I might use a less beefy shield on my next NG run, but considering how much health NG+ manus had, I didn't want to spend hours dying to his million hit combo after having him near death so it is what it is. Elitists like to call any method of making the game easier cheating or being unfair but honestly, all this stuff is in the game for a reason. I also poison the archers of annor londo with arrows while standing on the safe part of the roof between the railings and smoke a cig while they slowly die, come at me
This guide saved me so much pain. I had a slow greatsword too so very similar fight. To boost damage I quickly switched to 2 hand when hitting then back to one hand for blocking. Does about 50% more damage that way and helped a lot. Thanks again, I've watched a few of your guides, really helped on a few tough fights.
This video helped me out a lot, thanks man. I was trying to get up in his face and just dodge his attacks (and I almost got him a couple of times) but your method of baiting his slams and attacking his hand works a lot better. Plus the tip to equip the pendant later in the fight instead of estus worked out really good. Keep making great content dude.

I know this is years old, but thought I would comment what helped me most in this fight. Using the Dark Wood Grain Ring is pretty helpful in dodging all his attacks. With a balder straight sword I was able to get 2 hits in almost every time he used an attack the left his hand out. And yes the Silver Pendant is incredibly helpful.
Honestly thank goodness for these guides. I've been through so much today. I took out sanctuary guardian, artorias, and the black dragon back to back... I think I'm going to cheese the final boss just because I can 🤣

dodging to the side gives you a lot more attack opportunities opposed to dodging to the back and there is little risk in hitting hes hand after he does the final attack in the 5 hit combo.
Man, when you mentioned you were aiming for 200 subscribers I checked how many you had and I'm honestly really surprised to see that it's less than 2k. You deserve a lot more, this was really engaging. Truly, I thought 25 minutes for a boss fight was a bit much but 25 minutes later this is the best one yet. Hope you get a bunch more subs.

sooooo helpful i spent two hours trying to beat him but kept on dying to his front barrage magic now that i know to use the silver pendent it will be so much easier

Pyromancy spam is how I beat him, and all the other dlc bosses for that matter. A fully upgraded pyromancy flame can lay waste to most bosses in this game, and when I'd run out of casts, I'd finish the job with a fully upgraded Gravelord's Sword.
Thanks for your tips man i finally defeat manus ! I think i died like 30 or 40 times but it gets easy when you know all the moves of manus. Thanks again ! You saved my lifee. 😭
This does work with both the composite bow and the Darkmoon Bow. Get a ton of arrows of several different types and tag him a few times with one, then switch to another. It'll give you about 6 points of damage at first and then after that when you switch to the other type, you'll be getting about 42 points per hit. I managed this trick with the composite bow just fine.
I was watching another Dark Souls 2 video, where a guy claimed the only boss who lived up to his reputation as the hardest boss in all the souls games was Manus. I thought for a moment, I don’t remember that boss from DS2 and decided to look him up. I came here and realized I one-shotted him the first time. I don’t know if he’s considered hard my many players, but there were bosses I definitely thought were harder, like the DS1 final boss or the Phalanx in Demon Souls (I hate it with heart). I got really lucky. :-) and later found the Silver Pendant wondering what it was for.
This was the toughest boss fight of the game. For me it was only possible with the dark wood ring and light weight. Spider shield provides enough stability to keep you upright for some of his attacks and you stay mobile to avoid the biggest attacks. In and out, as a Dex build, getting 2-3 consecutive hits and then circling at medium to close range.
I just watched the guide after defeating Magnus for the first time. I really liked summoning Sif for this fight. Even if it is not really helpful, I felt like we were avenging Artorias together

I accidentally cheese the boss without knowing. I saw the red eyes and I thought it was another abyss mob so I snipe it using bow. Due to low damage, I never thoughts it was the Manus himself
It actually baffles me how many people keep trying to get behind Manus, or keep wailing on him from up close, and then complain he's too hard. If you wait for him to slam his hand down, you can just attack his hand. Safer and effective. He slams his hand down: - After that long hand slam attack. - At the end of his combo. - Sometimes with that short hand attack. He uses those attacks all the time, so it shouldn't take too long for an opening to present itself.

@@markomiletic9992 i know, it's just that for me it's a lit of bit difficult dark souls 1 than the 3 cause it's more slower on the first one, i played more dark souls 3 and changing to dark souls 1 it could be hard at the beggining because of timing. PS. I wish i could play Bloodborne, also i just need to beat Manus, Kalameet and gwyn and i finish the Game

Actually Kalameet has the fourth highest HP with 5,400, Demon Firesage is third with 5,448 and Seath second with 5,525 although admittedly the differences are marginal and yes Manus has the highest HP of all bosses with 6,665. The Four Kings boss has 9,504 HP but obviously that doesn't really count as it's merely the combined total of each king.
Not really, I did a couple but had to put it on hold because I was busy irl. I’m currently working on remaking guides for the souls games and a couple people have expressed interest in sekiro so I may get to that in the next couple months.
A lot of us wear the Artoria's Armor to face Manus, it's an honorable trend i've seen. Feelings are high i see. To give honour to the ones who deserve it.

I'm just now watching this video after beating him by myself (did it first try too, which I'm proud of), HOWEVER, I wasn't aware of the silver pendant so once I get to that area in my NG+ I'm for sure going to get it to make the fight easier for myself XD
A simple question with a complicated answer....In short, it depends lol. The one you get from the artorias soul is called the abyss greatsword and it does purely physical damage and scales with humanity. You get bonus damage for each humanity you have in the counter next to your health up to 10. If you can maintain 10 humanity at all times, I believe the abyss greatsword is technically the best. The two handed moveset also resembles Artorias’ moveset which is fun but maybe not the most practical. Then there are two greatswords of artorias that you make from sif’s soul, one is cursed and one isn’t. The cursed one does purely physical damage and scales with only strength and dexterity, but still has fairly high int and faith requirements to wield it. Since they don’t have scaling though, they’re kind of wasted. Being that it is cursed it can also damage the ghosts in new londo without having to pop a transient curse, not a huge deal but kinda cool. Finally you can make the uncursed version which actually scales with strength, dex, int, and faith but does split physical and magic damage. Technically with really high stats this one should have the highest attack rating. The downside is that split damage is hit or miss in dark souls. If your magic and physical damage outweigh the opponent’s magic and physical defenses it will hit really hard, but if the enemy has really high magic resistance for example, the split damage will hurt your performance because only half of the sword’s damage is going through. Ultimately, the uncursed version is fantastic for long term playthroughs on several new game cycles because it has scaling with all 4 stats. Cursed version does great damage but you’ll end up wasting stats to use it so you have to be ok with playing with less health or endurance early on. Finally, the abyss greatsword does good damage, but you have to stockpile humanity for it to reach its full potential. Hope that helps.
Like with other summons, does this boss get a health boost if you summon Sif? I'm thinking maybe not, because he is IN the boss room, but, you don't seem to be doing much damage, on the other hand. Not compared to the Dragon Greatsword i used, anyway, and just tanked thru him wihout any skill. It was an honorless win for me.
17:13 actually 4 kings are the boss with more health in the game. The Manticore has similar hp than Sif. Manus and Kal have also higher defence. Anyway: one does not simply face Manus with just 9 estus flask. Why your flasks are just +2? You can get +4 at that point without killing any firekeeper. After defeating Manus, player can go talk with Elizabeth, she will reward you with several mushrooms.
I just dont understand how people struggled with this. I walked into the fight first time summoned sif and just spammed R1 underneath him. I don't even think he did the combo once.
You would be surprised how much weapon, build, weapon upgrade level etc affect certain fights. Not to mention you only did it once so you haven’t experienced bad rng with the boss’s moves. Sometimes you get unlucky

It’s the greatsword of artorias, can’t remember if its the cursed version or not but it comes from the soul of sif. There aren’t any other summon signs but to be honest I would try it solo. I don’t think sif is a very helpful summon but you have to summon for his questline.

Quality build. High stength and dex as well as some int and faith because the greatsword of artorias scales with all 4 of those stats
Yeah its pretty good for ng+ and beyond because the damage doesn’t really cap out until you hit level 40 in str/dex/int/faith

i used the great shield of artorius and it worked just fine... but i am fairly invested in endurance

Dark souls 1 yes... Dark souls 3 Darkeather Midir Boss...a whole differnet level.. the most powerfull boss in all Dark Souls games...

Pretty much the further away you are the better when fighting this boss

How to kill manus:
1. Wear full set havel armor
2. Use black knight halberd
3. Just walk to him spam RB and kill him like a real boss
You shot him with arrows, but then, when you passed the fog gate, his health bat was 100% , both times (?)

Actually Kalameet has the fourth highest HP with 5,400, Demon Firesage is third with 5,448 and Seath second with 5,525 although admittedly the differences are marginal and yes Manus has the highest HP of all bosses with 6,665. The Four Kings boss has 9,504 HP but obviously that doesn't really count as it's merely the combined total of each king.
Manus, the 3 times evo champion. Seriously though, is there anything you can do if you're close to him and he does his combo?

Not going to lie, this boss fight was tough but fun.... just cant rush it.
I'm just now watching this video after beating him by myself (did it first try too, which I'm proud of), HOWEVER, I wasn't aware of the silver pendant so once I get to that area in my NG+ I'm for sure going to get it to make the fight easier for myself XD
I killed this boss within 20 seconds using iron flesh and spamming chaos firestorm and tempest firestorm.
which one is better ? the weapon you get from artorias' soul or the one you're using in the video ?
A simple question with a complicated answer....In short, it depends lol. The one you get from the artorias soul is called the abyss greatsword and it does purely physical damage and scales with humanity. You get bonus damage for each humanity you have in the counter next to your health up to 10. If you can maintain 10 humanity at all times, I believe the abyss greatsword is technically the best. The two handed moveset also resembles Artorias’ moveset which is fun but maybe not the most practical.
Then there are two greatswords of artorias that you make from sif’s soul, one is cursed and one isn’t. The cursed one does purely physical damage and scales with only strength and dexterity, but still has fairly high int and faith requirements to wield it. Since they don’t have scaling though, they’re kind of wasted. Being that it is cursed it can also damage the ghosts in new londo without having to pop a transient curse, not a huge deal but kinda cool.
Finally you can make the uncursed version which actually scales with strength, dex, int, and faith but does split physical and magic damage. Technically with really high stats this one should have the highest attack rating. The downside is that split damage is hit or miss in dark souls. If your magic and physical damage outweigh the opponent’s magic and physical defenses it will hit really hard, but if the enemy has really high magic resistance for example, the split damage will hurt your performance because only half of the sword’s damage is going through.
Ultimately, the uncursed version is fantastic for long term playthroughs on several new game cycles because it has scaling with all 4 stats. Cursed version does great damage but you’ll end up wasting stats to use it so you have to be ok with playing with less health or endurance early on. Finally, the abyss greatsword does good damage, but you have to stockpile humanity for it to reach its full potential. Hope that helps.

Like with other summons, does this boss get a health boost if you summon Sif? I'm thinking maybe not, because he is IN the boss room, but, you don't seem to be doing much damage, on the other hand. Not compared to the Dragon Greatsword i used, anyway, and just tanked thru him wihout any skill. It was an honorless win for me.
i had to persevere, i soloed him doing 50 damage a hit with fury blade my first time i killed him
17:13 actually 4 kings are the boss with more health in the game. The Manticore has similar hp than Sif. Manus and Kal have also higher defence.
Anyway: one does not simply face Manus with just 9 estus flask. Why your flasks are just +2? You can get +4 at that point without killing any firekeeper.
After defeating Manus, player can go talk with Elizabeth, she will reward you with several mushrooms.
Played the game a lot, I get lazy with collecting firekeeper souls, upgrading weapons, etc
Manus is pretty easy claymore,full rolls,and 40+poise no need for sif
Iron Flesh and go to town two handed heavy attacks, much easier
Manage to beat him without the ring took me 1h 30mim but I became pro where I only use one flask😭 feels great 😭 the pain..

I beat him but boy was i angry for being smacked down and not being able to get up before he slams me down again....
I just dont understand how people struggled with this. I walked into the fight first time summoned sif and just spammed R1 underneath him. I don't even think he did the combo once.
You would be surprised how much weapon, build, weapon upgrade level etc affect certain fights. Not to mention you only did it once so you haven’t experienced bad rng with the boss’s moves. Sometimes you get unlucky

What sword is that????! Also I am fighting Manus now, so annoying! Tried summoning Sif, but didn’t seem to help loads, is there any other summon signs?
It’s the greatsword of artorias, can’t remember if its the cursed version or not but it comes from the soul of sif. There aren’t any other summon signs but to be honest I would try it solo. I don’t think sif is a very helpful summon but you have to summon for his questline.
