- A whistleblower has claimed that the United States government is concealing a programme which deals with the retrieval and reverse engineering of unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
The Pentagon has denied all of the allegations.
Major David Grusch, a retired Air Force intelligence officer, said he was asked in 2019 by the head of a government task force on UFOs - or unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) - to identify all highly classified programmes relating to the task force's mission.
At the time, Major Grusch was detailed to the National Reconnaissance Office, the agency that operates US spy satellites.

I don’t know why these large news agencies can’t view this from an unbiased position. Just report on what’s going on. Enough with the Hollywood references, calling people conspiracy theorists, and ending it with some smug comparison to Chinese spy balloons. Show some respect to your audience and to the individuals who chose to put their careers on the line testifying to congress.

In such a circumstanc I could imagine him being well compensated for his trouble - it is a piece of p!ss to give a single man enough money to retire comfortably on when you have a military budget in excess of $700 billion to distribute, and he will no doubt find his way into a book deal with many possible readers from the kook crowd you yourself outlined.

You are still trying to make a joke out of it and latch on to one Congressman that expressed his own personal opinion...while ignoring another Congressman stating he was shown detailed photos taken by a fighter pilot after the Air Force tried to hide it. This was not a mature or well done piece at all. Too many "journalists" are unable to process this and try to mock it instead.
Well it is amusing. We’ve known for ages that it’s military testing of planes/vehicles/bombs etc. The best way to hide the activity is to invent the story of aliens. It’s America, the easiest place to fool half of the citizens!

He interviewed over 40 current and former military personel who had first hand experience working on uap, knows the secret programs working on them, who runs them, the exact location of the retrieved crafts, himself has seen photo and other physical evidence, and all the granular detail surrounding his knowings that he already submitted in an 11 hour long classified hearing. He is risking his life, freedom, and safety by blowing the whistle on this so I'd say that's more than enough evidence to credit his claims
Shame on you ITV for being so ignorant on the topic, the ridicule and donkey making of this serous and frankly amazing topic should stop now! We are on the cusp of learning absolute truth of evidence that we as an intelligent (intelligent being used in a loose sense) species have some kind of powerful entity in our lands that we can’t control.

Surly if there is nothing to hide they would have just let them know it’s secret drone technology or something in that nature. From all the testimony from those three high ranking people in this committee you need to ask yourself why would they risk absolutely everything in their career by making something up especially Mr Grusch? Absolutely furious with this piece of so called journalism. I watched the whole 2.5 hrs of this hearing held to highlight an extremely serious issue were people have reportedly died over what they know. These high ranking military personnel are some of the most decorated and bravest and there are many more whistleblowers, yet ITV have basically made a sarcastic, disrespectful and apparently, totally uninformed piece. How much did that drivel cost to produce? Should be absolutely ashamed. The full hearing was extremely engaging and ITV edit in the only minute were one politician says basically unless he sees it with his own eyes he tends not to believe it yet ignored all the other questioning that are demanding their government investigate transparently these professionals sightings that run in to the hundreds if not thousands. Grow up or don’t bother. In fact you should be apologising in my opinion.

Secondly the information was given under oath which is a different ball game than having a chin wag with some UA-cam channel over a couple of beers.
So I would say the witnesses revealing the US has total technological inferiority, that personnel have been injured by both the phenomena and US intelligence operatives, that the US has a very active crash retrieval program, has recovered in tact craft and biological specimens I’d say they qualified as bombshells for quite a few of the worlds population.

I’m glad ITV news featured Dan Rivers report in the main bulletin and not as a ridiculing ‘and finally..’ piece. The British mainstream media need to start giving this subject the gravitas it deserves. The witnesses who spoke at the Pentagon hearing yesterday have risked their careers and credibility by coming forward with their testimony and should be applauded. The US and Australian TV networks are all taking this subject very seriously now and devoting prime time coverage to it. We need to do the same in the U.K.

Not surprised by the mocking tone of ITV and most UK media on this subject, any so called journalist who took the time to properly investigate would realise the significance of literally thousands of reports by well qualified observers over the decades that clearly points to a very real phenomenom. Getting to the bottom of that is the biggest story in town and yesterday's congressional hearings are hopefully the first of many which may actually begin to change the media's outlook on this subject.
Brit here , really interesting to see how ITN covered this. For people not from the UK this is one the main news broadcasters in the country. Quite honestly I'm surprised it actually made the main bulletin. Pretty fair for the most part although they still couldn't quite help themselves bookending the coverage with raised eyebrows and an ironic undercurrent. But probably still progress.

I’ve witnessed these crafts first hand, I haven’t ever shared this story but I feel like the timing is right.
It started at about 2am, me and my cousin were walking back from a 24hour shopping centre when we noticed a huge bright orange glowing object in the sky moving slowly over head with complete silence, It had no heat trail or anything.
It then began to follow us for about 5 minutes and completely vanished before our eyes, literally just dematerialised in front of us we couldn’t believe it. We began to immediately explain it away as being a meteorite or something. However,
Once we got home I went up to bed and looked out of my window and saw the exact same light in the woods but this time there was a massive mist( kinda like dry ice) just emitting out of the woods amongst this bright orange illumination.
Whatever that thing was. It followed and then landed in the woods.
I have never gone to the landing area but I know exactly where it is. I have fought about going out to the landing point and checking it out.
Now I will add I am a massive skeptic and was once quite religious. I cannot categorically right that off what we witnessed that day to be nothing.
I haven’t seen/ witnessed anything since that day.

When i was about 14 i saw a flyling saucer up very close over the old airfield behind my mum and dads and it was floating at the height of a house and about 150 feet away from me and it made no sound at all. I had gone walking the dog with my mum and it started with a light in the distance that pulsed and something shot away from it which is why I ran up the hill to get a look and was really surprised to see what I saw I went back down from the hill I had run up and a lady came running away from the airfield with her dog like a bat out of hell and I don't think she saw me or my mum she had one mission and that was to get away from airfield.
Having sat and watched the entire 2 hour hearing, your report, which typically wastes a good minute on silly ‘invasion’ movie clips just demonstrates how desperate the mainstream media is to disregard the subject even when high ranking officials and military witnesses are coming forward to tell you this is real and give you the facts.
Your reporter focussed on the Chinese spy balloon in a bid to suggest these are still just explainable incidents, but this balloon was in no way the subject of the hearing. It’s pathetic the way you seem desperate to shift the focus and distract your viewers from the reality of these craft and their origins.
You can get with the real story here and be a part of history or you and the rest of the legacy media who continue to dismiss this subject can go the way of the dinosaur as the rest of this reality is finally disclosed to the world.
There are a tremendous wealth of evidence out here for those brave enough to take a look. For the record, there will be no battle with these visitors, our battle is with you - the imbeciles who continue to deny their existence on this planet and who have tirelessly mocked those of us who know far better.

Despite the unnecessary, rather dismissive tone, the UAP phenomenon is a serious security issue that demands respect from ITV, especially as the hearing took place in Congress. Furthermore, the three witnesses involved are regarded as credible, highly respected, extremely decorated veterans. Unfortunately, the mocking introduction set the agenda for what followed, so you knew, right from the start, what was coming. I expect far higher standards from one of the UK's supposed professional media outlets, but their puerile attitude didn't surprise me. ITV should do their homework and research some facts before airing such a shoddy presentation, as well as try to inject some much-needed balance and maturity into their offerings. This was not a 'news' report...it was an absolute embarrassment. Apologies to our American cousins.

Journalists should do their job and report this. It’s not just Grusch.
saying a UFO cant crash in the Earth or is unlikely to crash at the end of its lightyears of deep space journey is a bit like saying an arrow is unlikely to crash into an apple on someone's head. The allegations are that the illegal program that Grusch describes is intentionally attracting and downing these vehicles in order to capture them.
This scenario partly explains the fact that retrieval efforts seem to be concentrated in the deserts, and in other sparsely populated areas.

Furthermore, the extreme capabilities of these UAP/UFOs have been described since the times of bi-planes. There are reports of them from WWI as "airships", WWII as "Foo-Fighters", Vietnam as Bogies. So our adversaries, or allies, or our government have had these capabilities for over 100 years? Why did we then even bother with the Manhattan Project or the costly European and Pacific campaigns of WWII? I suppose the technology was kept secret then and so I guess we are actually talking about a conspiricay theory of an entirely different kind.
If our military fighter pilots that we, as tax payers, trust to fly $67 million jets (F-18 super hornet) that costs $30,000 per hour to fly, or that a decorated and very senior member of our intelligence community with the highest possible clearances and who has the responsibility to hand-deliver briefings to whoever happens to be the president at that time are all "credulous", why do we bother to have a military or intelligence agencies? Obviously, our country must be second to Russia in terms of incompetency and inability to select qualified people in any positions.

It is one thing to say that the evidence is not yet strong enough or compelling enough for one to make proper conclusions, and a whole other to underhandedly suggest that a topic or the people involved are "credulous".
Where's the hard evidence in those assertions of being credulous? Does that reporter, or critics like him, have radar, IR, multispectral, or multiple real-time eyewitnesses that have had millions of dollars spent in their training? Do these so called "skeptics" that take such stances have ALL of those various data points I just mentioned in cooboration with each other, as is the case in at least the accounts of the 2 former military pilots at the hearing?
I do believe that we are being engaged by non-human intelligences that have technology vastly supeior to our own.
And yes, advanced technology can fail! Why can't these advanced vehicles crash?
If we could travel back in time to give Christopher Columbus a tour of a nuclear submarine, let him see it's speed, the fact that it doesn't need to be refueled for 25 years, the fact that it is fueled by tiny particles that are invisible to the naked eye, or that it has the destructive power (if you consider an ohio class sub with a full compliment of 14 ICBMs with up to eight 100 kiloton warheads in each ICBM) of 11,200,000 tons of TNT, do we not think such technology would seem invincible to him?
And yet, the US and Russia/USSR have lost about 10 nuclear subs over the years and a number of others damaged by collisions with such things as undersea mountains or even whales. How can something so advanced not avoid a MOUNTAIN? We are talking about technology that is over 500 years more advanced than what existed in Columbus' time. AND, that operates on principles of science that weren't even discovered for 400 years from the time of Colombus, if you consider when the atom was discovered.
Please know I am not deriding all skeptics. I think it's good and also important that there are those of us who require more facts, proof, etc of whatever given topic. A proper balance between "believers" and skeptics are how innovation is achieved.
"Believers"/"dreamers" got us to the moon. Skeptics made it safer to do.
There all in this together why is it such a deal breaker to hide stuff from the public??
What makes little sense to me is supposedly these aliens can travel billions of miles through space yet cant manuever through out our atmosphere without crashing so much.

Thousands of years of many different sightings, so something is getting here. Making the long difficult journey and then crashing is just like our aviation which isn't perfect. We don't know how many are getting here, it could be millions. We don't know if the small stuff is making the trip, could be a massive mother ship. Also, they may not be travelling here, could be jumping from different realities and not about an A to B distance. We don't know but others definitely do.
There's nothing to crash in to in empty space. Generally needs a hard object to collide in to, yeah?
