Just to clarify the meaning of the song, which can be looked at as a "relationship-ending" song, but whose message is really about being introspective and changing yourself for the better. If you watch the four girls and read what they're talking about, they are each describing the reason why they get into toxic relationships. They realize that they must "KILL" this sort of behavior in order to have a healthier relationship. Jennie, on the black and white swans, discusses yin/yang, she feels that in order to have happiness there must always be sadness, and she knows that she is destined to repeat her mistake. Lisa, the "cereal killer" (sorry, couldn't resist) believes in quantity over quality. She wants it all, even though love to her is a short, sweet sugar high that leaves her feeling empty and needing more. Jisoo, in the church, realizes that she is weak, her stronger future self destroys her with a flaming arrow. And Rosé, driving the car, also causes her own destruction, running herself down in the road, the license plate on her car reads "EGO".

As to your comment of how Jisoo was shot ("the colors get colder"), you should really check out Mera's UA-cam video "Why You Can't Look Away from Blackpink", where she discusses how each of the members are shot consistently from MV to MV. She points out that Rose is often shot out of focus and then into focus INTENTIONALLY, which gives the effect that she is an otherworldly being or Goddess. YG editors rarely if ever show anything unintentionally and here they intentionally shot her out of focus. The Mera video is a great video for someone like you because it gets into film theory and is an essay about cinema as it relates to BP. She discusses how across multiple MV's each of the BP members has their own distinct "video coding", where each member has their own set of lighting, camera work/movement, composition, editing, colors and design ("member specific cinema"). Mera discusses how YG's directors utilize the idea in cinema about "the anatomy of a creature", where you use aesthetics to create a metaphorical creature or phenomena within a person, and how they apply this principal to each individual BP member. Jisoo for example is a creature of the night, much like a vampire, often moving from shadows into the light. It is fascinating. All credit to Mera and YG directors of course. So, no you are not overthinking it, you are underthinking it if anything, regarding the level of work and dedication that goes into the design and symbolism in BP's MV's. Welcome to the BP/Kpop/BTS cinematic universe.

the third scene with jisoo.... ignore her... what do you see.... and then think, what happens when your eyes are pink/red.... this song is full of imagery, that scene is one of my favorites... initially you might not see it but if you take a step back... it makes sense once you realize its an eye and tears are flowing.
Also, the way she is placed in the eye makes it seem like a reflection. Like the eye is looking at her, as if it's the eye of the person they are singing about, and her standing in front of him being reflected. Almost as if we are her, facing the eye of the lover, based on the view. Just my opinion, your comment made me think of this.
