First part of the video is called "Chant" obviously on the same soundtrack. those of you arguing which branch is 'better' are clearly not in the military or juvenile. All the branches work together (ideally). It's like saying which is more important, your heart, lungs, brains, liver, or legs/arms?
Black Hawk Downs soundtrack changed EVERYTHING. every war movie after it, every war game, everything is doing this style of middle eastern tunes with electronic and rock touches to it, and there is no going back.
This movie has become absolutly my preferred one (I saw it at least 20 times) and the courage, the value, the professionalism of those guys, has become a model of true military comradeship. How to forget the courage and the abnegation of two Heroes, as Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart? How to forget many others killed or injured that day? I've great admiration and respect for those Soldiers, and I'll never forget their sacrifice. - Daniel, from Italy -
This is my favorite movie, and will always be my favorite. I love the soundtrack Zimmer did such a good job with it. I am proud to be going to basic this summer, and hopefully ranger school soon after.
this is the one movie i broke down and sobbed to death over...i was in iraq and my two friends in my squad were gunned down...i repressed everything until i watched this and now i am feeling better after some time. War is sick. Games make it out to be romantic and heroic. Its just not the same feeling when youre soaked in the blood of the guy you were talking about favorite books the night before he was slaughtered.
ever since I was little I wanted to be in the army and the song touches my heart and the movie gives me a better understanding of war and it helps me realize that war is filled with horrible things
Hans Zimmer's music is awesome. I first learned about his music from this movie. I love is work on Modern Warfare 2. I also like Steve Jablonsky and Harry Gregson-Williams' music.
The Black Hawk Down-style blend of distorted riffs and Arabian music on top is basically the standard that every action and thriller movie composer takes for his soundtrack.
The beginning always trips me out when I'm done tokin'. I love this movie, but I love the soundtrack even more. My God, everything's SO right in my life. Too bad I'll be in Afghanistan in the summer of '11. Hooah, Guys!
Yesterday I got to know that for 75% sure I'll be deployed in Libanon in November. All the time after the call I've been listening to these soundtracks. In car, home, while doing sports. Dunno why these touches me...ps. I live in Finland so I belong to FRDF (Finnish Rapid Deployment Forces).
Really amazing movie, read the book too. And i met Mike Durant At the PX At Fort Hood, when he was signing autographs for the new book he helped in It's called "The Nightstalkers" Haha he looked alot different now. Gray hair and everything. =) Real heroes.Funny how the unlikeliest people become them.
It was the only picture taken from the ground during the battle; given the version in Mark Bowden's book is black & white, I haven't seen it in color before so this one shocked me & to top it off it is very clear
Have you really joined this operation? Well man, I've no words to describe what I feel right know... In 1993, I was 11 years old and of that day I only remember a few frames on TV-News; nothing else: the (dead) body of an American soldier, on which the rebels raged. I was very upset by that scene, and I've never forgotten it. When, in the 2001, I saw the movie "Black Hawk Down" for the first time, has been like if I had relived that day...The same anguish, tightened my throat and touched me.
i wont be fighting here, im just remembering how good of the movie it is the music goes really well with the moments, R.I.P 19 soldiers (i believe it was)
Damn i just must say this. it is giving me Peace in my body to hearing this music. and it is like. i just must being there. i am fealing that i could do a diffrence in that movie. and the song for picture ind this one is for 10. so dude. 1 thing to say. 10/10 Thanks dude.! VERY MUCH!!! you almost get me to cry!!
@mcaval6 yeah that's very true, soldiers understand that as well, but when we have to do our job we have to let go of that concept, its the most painful thing any human being could ever go through... people ask us, do you think you're making a difference? do you think you're a hero? nobody can explain why they want to fight, why they would risk there life and take a bullet for you, just respect us for what we do, we dont ask for much... thank you for supporting us... the little things mean alot
I am currently Playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare. And I think some of the music is reminiscent of Black Hawk down. This is an old English Folk song "Are You Going to Scarborough Fair" You might have heard it in "THE GRADUATE". I am made up that the Guy who made this Film was Ridley Scott and is English he pulled no punches and was able top paint an almost accurate picture of the follies of war without constraints.
By the way the Music is British as well. Scarborough Fair" was a traditional English fair, and is a traditional English ballad. Well done Mr Hans Zimmer
This is a heartrending, eye-opening, amazingly executed movie..I have the 3-Disc Deluxe Edition..it's well worth buying! Disc 3 has awesome documentaries from PBS and The History Channel containing true accounts of the ambush on Mogadishu, Somalia, and a feature on Michael Durant, Chief Warrant Officer-4..the American Black Hawk helicopter pilot who was shot down and held captive 11 days during the Battle of Mogadishu..check out his book "In The Company of Heroes"..excellent reading.
Mix electric guitar with Oud and oriental stuff and what you get is EFFING AWESOMENESS ! that's why music is amazing, the east and the west can be good together :)
We remember 18 brave lads who died that day and those who risked everything to save their mates. A true testament of human character in the worst of situations. They will be remembered by all soldiers, including myself, regardless of their capbadge, culture or patriotism. This movie really speaks from a soldier's point of view.
Granyala brings it to the point: We are Humans not Americans, Italians, Iraqis, Chinese ... We are just Humans. We are all equal and we shouldnt fight each other. We should fight other problems like global warming and over population.
@Yasting90 Goodluck, and God bless you for serving This war showed the world that all it takes to beat America are a few casualties. It shows me that the American soldier has no limits, no bounds, no fears.. Not when it comes to fighting in the name of their country. They left no one behind, fought to the death for the bodies of their fallen comrades. It's sacrifice like this that makes me proud to be American. next week I join the Navy to be a Corpsman
yo, thank you u guys In fact, I arranged the music in purposed order. The first music shows the eagerness be4 the battle. The second one shows the emotion of USMC survivors. The last one shows the devastating result of war to civilian, who always have to suffer the most from war. STOP ALL THE WARS IN THIS WORLD RIGHT NOW, FOR WE'RE ALL BROTHERS
So I'm Just Some Teenager In My Last Year Of High School, I Know No One In The War Or Who Has Been In Any Wars But Yet I Find Myself Very Interested In It. I Don't Know What It's Like To be A Soldier Or A Civilian In A War Zone, But I Know It Would Not Be Easy, I Imagine It Would Be Hard And Difficult And Emotional. War Is Not Glorious as People Make It Out To Be But Devastating, We Never Have The Right To Judge A Soldier, Because They Are The Ones Who Have To Make The Choices, I Appreciate Them
if i had the power to change the world, i would wish that there are no more war all over the world. there will be peace. no fighting, no killing. and if war is going to happen, it should be on war games
@MikeIronweaver56 there is a BHD mission in cod4 but its a cobbra not a hawk tho its still pretty cool then a nuke goes off and kills everyone only if we could have gotten out of there sooner
this reminds me of those two delta snipers.... Gordon and Randy and the pilot Mike Durant ..... there you can see how friends became your brother when facing imposible odds... and also the young soldier that died at the stronghold of crash site no.1 I dont remember his name but he saved a dude named Twomlee was it.... or Twomee
The movie was with the Americans , but the fact is the Somalis was defending their country, wish all have the courage to do that, still the soundtrack is so amazing..
@dorgrim damn bro. Sorry to hear that. Friends are among the hardest things in this world to lose. I am sure they fought bravely and knew the risks involved. They did not die in vain.
x ARMOURED CORE It's true buddy but for example we italians in Somalia had the same shit with a paratroopers batallion on to armoured vehicles ( 5 deads many injured ) and the commander decided to use a platoon of M60 tanks to resque them. 350 insurgents dead... and the general removed from office but our guys saved! Greetings from Italy
Actually their plan was sound, an airborn insertion was the best plan the problem was is that they chose a ground extraction with a lack of air support. As said in the movie and (by 2nd hand source)in real life, the lack of any AC-130s on site was a poor deal, the kind of accurate firepower that those could've brought in would have detered the creation of baracades which is what halted the convoy so many times.
First part of the video is called "Chant" obviously on the same soundtrack.

Hans Zimmer is amazing. The music he usually creats are always great, but this is one of those ones that are simply beautiful along with many others.
That song is so beautiful, but it breaks my heart. I loved the movie too. Such an excellent sound track.
This is my favorite movie, and will always be my favorite. I love the soundtrack Zimmer did such a good job with it. I am proud to be going to basic this summer, and hopefully ranger school soon after.

i watched this movie for the first time of my life yesterday and god heavens this song was almost all i cared about
You are right, it does. And this movie really does portray that. That's why it's one of my favourite movies ever.
ever since I was little I wanted to be in the army and the song touches my heart and the movie gives me a better understanding of war and it helps me realize that war is filled with horrible things
Hans Zimmer's music is awesome. I first learned about his music from this movie. I love is work on Modern Warfare 2. I also like Steve Jablonsky and Harry Gregson-Williams' music.
The second song just gives me the goose bumbs. Can't help it, beautiful!
such an approptriate soundtrack to a truly great movie. the middle track in this is like a tribute to a soldiers courage to me.
The whole Black Hawk Down Soundtrack collection really ads THE emotion u should feel to the conditions in this movie.
Pure quality music, love the soundtracks taht hans zimmer make for the good movies. His songs play a BIIIG role in making the movie "good".
The last music is very touching ..nice instrumental :'( Brings tears to my eyes :')
Black hawk down is definately one of the best war movies ever together with We were soldiers
I believe the tracks are:
"Tribal War",
"Leave No Man Behind",
"Still Reprise"
Great movie and great soundtrack!
I love this soundtrack, Hanz Zimmer does an amazing job of mixing rock and african elements into one to create the chaos and sorrow of war.
R.I.P the lads who died and this film was made in their honor, the songs are sad, but it tells you everything about the film and what happened there
It was the only picture taken from the ground during the battle; given the version in Mark Bowden's book is black & white, I haven't seen it in color before so this one shocked me & to top it off it is very clear
totaly agree, Hans Zimmer started this tone and then they took off after it. he is a pro!
very suitable music to the different situations. nice compelation. the second section is my favourite. good goin!
Have you really joined this operation?

Love the film and this soundtrack !
I totally agree with you! Finally a game makes an effort to re-create what really happened... Respect: Infinity Ward.
COD ftw
i love the mix of modern stuff (Bass, guitar) with african instruments
@mcaval6 yeah that's very true, soldiers understand that as well, but when we have to do our job we have to let go of that concept, its the most painful thing any human being could ever go through... people ask us, do you think you're making a difference? do you think you're a hero? nobody can explain why they want to fight, why they would risk there life and take a bullet for you, just respect us for what we do, we dont ask for much... thank you for supporting us... the little things mean alot

Every commander goes through the same thing. They see those men as their children, a commander wants what's best for his troops.
By the way the Music is British as well.
Scarborough Fair" was a traditional English fair, and is a traditional English ballad.
Well done Mr Hans Zimmer
Randy was the Delta sniper that went it to help rescue Mike. He received the Medal of Honor posthumously.
This is my favorite movie ever.
The first song on the actual soundtrack is called Hunger, the first on here is called Chant
This is the song that comes in when most possibly the greatest military force in the world, is comming to your front door.
This is a heartrending, eye-opening, amazingly executed movie..I have the 3-Disc Deluxe Edition..it's well worth buying! Yep, as said they were Master sergeant Gary Ivan Gordon, and Sergeant First Class Randall 'randy' David Shughart.

Mix electric guitar with Oud and oriental stuff and what you get is EFFING AWESOMENESS ! that's why music is amazing, the east and the west can be good together :)
fantastic............
i love it...
LOL "my hands have splinters"
"Don't get on my bad side!"
For some reasons, it reminds me of some soundtracks from the game Command and Conquer Generals as well as from CoD Modern Warfare series
We should fight other problems like global warming and over population.
this remembers me modern warfare love it!! hans zimmer
its "Chant", most epic song of BHD with "Leave no man behind"
this movie totally made me cry.
totally agree with u those guys died doing what they were trained 2 do-save lives and some people just say it was all 4 nothing
i like how they mix that middle-eastern sounding instrument with the guitar. it sounds very call of duty 4-like
Wars come and go, but my soldiers stay eternal.
@Yasting90
Goodluck, and God bless you for serving
This war showed the world that all it takes to beat America are a few casualties. It shows me that the American soldier has no limits, no bounds, no fears.. It's sacrifice like this that makes me proud to be American. next week I join the Navy to be a Corpsman
I love the yanks, they show great courage on the battle field, it kinda reminds me of the British army... live long US and UK.
yo, thank you u guys
In fact, I arranged the music in purposed order. The first music shows the eagerness be4 the battle. The second one shows the emotion of USMC survivors. The last one shows the devastating result of war to civilian, who always have to suffer the most from war.

Hans Zimmer... always Hans Zimmer, and always great!
The first song is Chant, off of the OST.
this reminds me of those two delta snipers.... No man gets left behind.... just don't make it difficult for us and break your leg
Hans Zimmer es el mejor compositor de nuestra generacion , sin ninguna duda =)
The movie was with the Americans , but the fact is the Somalis was defending their country, wish all have the courage to do that, still the soundtrack is so amazing..

@Joedidyjoe look up (black hawk down soundtrack-chant) and its towards the middle of the soundtrack
