I have been looking for a video tutorial how to connect wall mounted switch or momentary switch to Wled. Have you tested the max length of the wire between WLED controller and switch? I am starting my first WLED project and i was looking for a solution how to control Led on/off without cutting the power to controller. I can do it with WLED but controller and switch will have at least 10 to 15m of cable and since ESP32 only support 3V i am afraid that there will be too much of a voltage drop for signal even reach the switch. I will be using cable 1.5mm2. What do you think? Do you have any workarounds to this problem? Thank you in advance.

@@spegeldesign I have not but you can find gauge length charts online and find if the cable you are using is enough for the length

so i'm brand new to all of this and super crash coursed tonight. I'm designing a halloween prop that has complex lighting effects that these LED strips would be perfect for which led me to WLED, which led me to the ESP32 module and eventually had to figure out how to trigger them using prop controllers that can send out 5/12/24v signal. So looking at this i'm assuming the part you're skipping over is that you're sending some sort of power through the other side of the switch there? in theory if you're just using the switch to turn on/off the power signal, then I'd be able to use an output from my prop controller... but I know nothing about this world outside of these tutorials so i'm not sure where i'd go next with that.

In my case im just sending ground to pin #5 but if you need to send V to a pin i can tell you its a different story, and more than 3v will fry the board.

@@carlosmcnulty See i don't really know what i'm talking about yet. getting there. I talked to a friend at work that knows rasberry pi and Arduino and all this stuff and he made it clear I'd just be doing the same thing you're doing but it'd come from a relay in between my controller and this board. so i'll have him help me figure it out. but awesome you figured this out... i'm not sure how there aren't more views on this cause seems like a lot of people are looking for this solution.

@@carlosmcnulty certainly did. Might take a min but i'll try to remember to comment here with my solution in case it enriches what you're doing at all.
