Great video .. I have a similar (smaller size .. not the same) Funai built TV, that I repaired like you did in this video .. with a repair kit from Shop Jimmy. I didn’t have much faith trying to fix the switch mode power supply .. but yes, that fixed it. Hats off to Shop Jimmy for developing and offering these kits .. these days when it’s not worth getting most stuff fixed even if you can find anywhere to get it fixed.

I wanted to mention that i have a 19 in phillips that i've neglected to fasten properly in my 9900 IH semi (to say it rides like a lumber wagon empty....it would launch a human eight feet, it seems, off the fifth wheel plate over some tracks)...this three year old flat screen has fallen on its face over a dozen times from that and still works great, not that i deserve it. that damn thing is tough. Awesome post....I opened up my Emerson LC320EM2. Found the F601 (4A/125V) fuse blown! Hoping that fuse is the only problem. Radio Shack should have fuse. Let's see if 50 cent fuse fixes problem. I have no doubt TV repair would charge $75+ to replace 50 cent fuse.

In the case of blown up fuse, after some repair steps I use bulb aligned serial on the power line to the suspicious power unit. Do not connect any load to the power supply, just connect power cord with the lamp to the outlet for the short period - about 4-5 sec. If the bulb lights up and stays so - shortage on the power supply is present yet. If the bulb lights up at 1-2 sec and fades - you can switch power directly to the power supply (it will not blow up :). Hope you can understand... god bless the translator! :)

hey there, put the repair kit in, had a kind of low whining noise for about 10 secs then the fuse popped again. could I have put the D640 in backwards and caused this, there was no white line on new one or old one. Also, it was shorted before I replaced it. Thanks, Tony

Hi! Can you help me, so I have Emerson LCD TV. And it kept blowing fuses, so I ordered from shopjimmy repair kit. TV turned on but after 5 sec it keeps turning off. And it only do this for example if I plug regular antenna to TV and turn it to TV mode, then TV turns off but it keep working if I switch to HDMI or PC. Or if I plugged HDMI cable to TV and turn TV to HDMI mode then it switching off but keep running on different modes. I checked caps, everything seems good.
can you help plz i have a philipps tv 47PFL4606H/58 with no standby ...the secondary part of the board is dead no voltages ....the primary has a short....recently i change all mosfets and a chip that protects tv from shorts but nothing happend i have check all smd transistors and are good...but i have found 2 diodes 1n4148 .. that are shorted only when i test them on borard..but every time i desolder both of them works fine ..wt@@ maybe i have a short circuit under both of them?

I have a few questions to ask you. I have 3 lcd's at my house. Last year over the summer there was a lightening storm(lightening literally struck down all over my town) As a result, a large amount of our electronics got messed up. One of the lcd tv's (32inch Emerson) acts weird by flashing every few seconds(the picture and sound cut out constantly at the same time,) the second (32 inch Emerson) has a small horizontal line going through it on the top and the 3rd (32 inch Funai) actually will not turn on. All of these were plugged into power surge protectors, but a transformer (50 ft from our home) blew up from a lightening strike. Do you think that any of these lcd's are salvageable? I'm not great with electronics, but if I can save at least one, that's be great. Otherwise I'd have to save up for over a year to be able to get replace them all. Thanks for posting all your vids. Thanks Tampatec, I've learned a lot from your videos. I have an Emerson 32" LCD TV, model number LC320EM2. Originally, my import source was coax cable. But through repeated movement of the TV, the jack on the mainboard weakened and eventually broke off. So I bought an HDMI cable, and plugged into the HDMI port on the back of my Verizon DVR. However, now I get a weird distorted image on the screen. It is set to the correct input, because I get sound that coincides with the channel that the DVR is set to, confirmed by another TV hooked up to the same DVR via coax cable. Does this symptom give you any clue as to what component might be faulty? I took a picture of the screen, if that might help. Is it possible to post the picture here, or can it be emailed to you for an opinion on the possible cause? I'd like to try to fix the TV myself, by replacing the defective parts with new. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Emerson LC32OEM2 TV: I have 5.xV (volts, the voltage is anywhere from 5.12V to 5.30V) everywhere but no more than that! If I push power button on TV set, nothing happens! The chip that has the big "L" shaped heat sink is hot, so I pulled it out and tested it - it is OK, based on 3 of my Transistor Meters, so I put it back. The push-button for power (and all other like sound ...etc) are going to the other board and a ribbon cable is between both boards should tell the power supply to supply 24V (at least that is what I found in the service manual), but nothing happens. When I disconnected the ribbon cable + all other connectors, so there isn't anything connected to the power supply, the chip is as hot as if I did not remove any cables at all. I have several questions: 1) Is that normal, that the chip is so hot to touch, despite that there isn't any load on it? 2) Where can I find what reading should I see on my volt meter when poking around the power supply? 3) Does anyone have any idea what else I can check (I tested visually and with 3 different capacitor testers all the capacitors - they all look OK to me) I also measured the diodes - I did not pull them out, so I understand that in some cases I could get bad readings, but I also tested voltages while the power supply was on, to double check the diodes. 4)Where one can go and get help and or leave help for others to help them? 5) Are there any clubs or Facebooks that are for people like me, who is learning to fix TV; I'm trying to help others, like people on wheelchairs and or poor people, who can't afford expensive or any $ to fix their TV. I'm not making any $, I do this to help and I'm having fun learning also. Thanks guys!
hey tampatec, just last night my tv shut off completely as if it were unplugged while I was playing my xbox 360. I need help...I am a complete newbie...auto mechanic can build a car but this electronic stuff never have liked even in cars.So my issue is..my moms tv that I bought for her as a xmas present years ago just took a dump...its a Magnavox model no. 20MS3442/17 manufactured 2005...there's sentimental value to it or else I would throw it out. But from watching your stuff I want to take this project on. She doesn't want a new tv. The issue is that it turns on and after a few mins sometimes seconds it shuts off. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it...where do I begin?
if you are missing standby volts on power board then its most likely the power board (can be swollen capacitors 1000uf 10v, 2200uf 10v or 3300uf 10v) get power board or caps at shopjimmy.com if you want Sub/like/share if this helped 8^)
Emerson lc320em2. After a storm, no power to the tv at all. Unplugged for 2 weeks, and the outlets are fine. I can hear a faint high pitched sound but that's all. Opened up the tv. Fuse looks ok. (I assume it is easy to tell if the fuse is blown.) Everything else looks ok. I'm an electronics novice. What should I try next?
I had this same problem. Bought and installed the kit and now it no longer blows fuses. It just won't power up. I suspect another bad component but don't know what to check next. Any suggestions?

john montagna if you have standby volts on power board but no standby red light on front of tv then i would suspect the main board. (check power-cord & ac outlet too)
Any idea here. Sylvania LC370SS9 green light flashes 14 times then powers off immediately (goes to red Standby) or sometimes after 5 seconds (goes to red Standby) Also if i let it sit for a while ( 2-3min) it will power on and stay on a random amount of time then shutdown/standby itself. some times hours later sometimes minutes
When i touch them they would stop buzzing and shock me what's causing this? FYI I found it in the dump it turns on but won't completely turn on when it starts buzzing it will go back in to standby mode and whenever I try to turn it on it will start buzzing again and quit after it goes into standby mode.

I have a LF320EM4 emerson. Probable lightning strike according to my friend that had a storm . Is there a F601 on this set. The glass tube type. I find a place on BA3AFOFO102 3 board for F602 my continuity test shows this open. Mutli meter shows no resistance. I was expecting to find an easy to replace fuse without solders. Is there such a fuse on this set? If you can't point me to a fuse of the proper kit then would you be kind enough to help locate the proper power supply board ? I can find many BA3AFOFO102 1 boards but not the one in my set. Are they interchangeable? Is there a suggestion to help me fix this cheaply. And where is F601 does it even have one?
Y sustain Board on a Samsung LCD TV when they fail others board can go bad too.. Radiotvphononut on UA-cam explains how it can cost more to repair than it could break again... The best way replace it with a new LCD TV
Great Video, I need some help trying to restore power to my Emerson LC320EM2F. I bought the repair kit from shopjimmy.com and still NO POWER? Upon more testing the new D610 has a short but off the circuit test fine. I can remove R608 and short goes away. Resistor test fine off circuit, also new from the kit. I spent another $10 buck for service manual and it says it may be transformer?? Can you help? THANKS for you time. Carl

hey tampatec, just last night my tv shut off completely as if it were unplugged while I was playing my xbox 360. The light isnt on or anything, and it wont work when I try to plug it in to a different socket. I have an Emerson model LC320EM2F 2011. Is their any solution? I dont know much about tv electronics....
i need some help with emerson tv lc320em1 just watching one nite and it shut off the red light on the front comes on but like no power yet the red light is on hit power button noting check the fuse on the board. and in tact working .. if you were to make a guess which board should i have to replace...
start using the hako 808 , fr 300 desolder gun or Aoyue 8800

Hey Tampatec guy thanks for all the informative videos. I need help...I am a complete newbie...auto mechanic can build a car but this electronic stuff never have liked even in cars.So my issue is..my moms tv that I bought for her as a xmas present years ago just took a dump...its a Magnavox model no. 20MS3442/17 manufactured 2005...there's sentimental value to it or else I would throw it out. But from watching your stuff I want to take this project on. She doesn't want a new tv. The issue is that it turns on and after a few mins sometimes seconds it shuts off. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it...where do I begin?
if you are missing standby volts on power board then its most likely the power board (can be swollen capacitors 1000uf 10v, 2200uf 10v or 3300uf 10v) get power board or caps at shopjimmy.com if you want Sub/like/share if this helped 8^)
Emerson lc320em2. After a storm, no power to the tv at all. Unplugged for 2 weeks, and the outlets are fine. I can hear a faint high pitched sound but that's all. Opened up the tv. Fuse looks ok. (I assume it is easy to tell if the fuse is blown.) Everything else looks ok. I'm an electronics novice. What should I try next?
I had this same problem. Bought and installed the kit and now it no longer blows fuses. It just won't power up. I suspect another bad component but don't know what to check next. Any suggestions?

I have an Emerson smart tv. for some reason my tv will not turn on until after a day or 12 hours or so. then i will push start button on the remote and it works like normal. but if i turn it off or if it going off, it will not power on for hours. simply not responding to the remote. SOS !!

Hi Tampatec, I'm working on a Philips 19pfl3505df7, won't power on I looked for the obvious blown caps, couldn't find any so i ordered another power/inverter board put it in and i still have the same problem. Please advised any suggestions.

john montagna if you have standby volts on power board but no standby red light on front of tv then i would suspect the main board. (check power-cord & ac outlet too)
I have a Sylvania TV that the bottom half of the screen has gone white, any thoughts on what has caused this?
Any idea here. Sylvania LC370SS9 green light flashes 14 times then powers off immediately (goes to red Standby) or sometimes after 5 seconds (goes to red Standby)
Also if i let it sit for a while ( 2-3min) it will power on and stay on a random amount of time then shutdown/standby itself. some times hours later sometimes minutes

I found an emerson BLC320EM9 and the inverters transistor or the 2 components at bc1931 and/or bc1932 are buzzing how can I fix this?
When i touch them they would stop buzzing and shock me what's causing this?
FYI I found it in the dump it turns on but won't completely turn on when it starts buzzing it will go back in to standby mode and whenever I try to turn it on it will start buzzing again and quit after it goes into standby mode.
What's going on when you have standby power but no power up initiation. The TV goes hours sometimes days before powering back up. What is that?
can you just replace the entire main board?

Buy the power board, by the time you collected soldering gun, soldering sucker, soldering wire, flux. You ll about the same ball park money wise.

I have a LF320EM4 emerson. Probable lightning strike according to my friend that had a storm . Is there a F601 on this set. The glass tube type. I find a place on
BA3AFOFO102 3 board for F602 my continuity test shows this open. Mutli meter shows no resistance. I was expecting to find an easy to replace fuse without solders. Is there such a fuse on this set? If you can't point me to a fuse of the proper kit then would you be kind enough to help locate the proper power supply board ? I can find many BA3AFOFO102 1 boards but not the one in my set. Are they interchangeable? Is there a suggestion to help me fix this cheaply. I dabble with some electronics and would love to be able to get this running at home. Thank you so much

Great Video, I need some help trying to restore power to my Emerson LC320EM2F. I bought the repair kit from shopjimmy.com and still NO POWER? Upon more testing the new D610 has a short but off the circuit test fine. I can remove R608 and short goes away. Resistor test fine off circuit, also new from the kit. I spent another $10 buck for service manual and it says it may be transformer?? Can you help? THANKS for you time. Carl
