I feel like what makes UNIS so good to me as an older kpop fan is that theyre so nostalgic to 2nd and 3rd gen kpop. It doesnt feel like they immediately shot up in popularity, but rather that they and their company are trying and working hard to make the girls successful through hard work and exposure through different events. Something about it feels a lot more organic than other groups. Plus, their music is not just a copy and paste format/beat, and I enjoy the diversity in their discography.
Yeah it's weird, even though Illit were made in a somewhat similar fashion, somehow they feel so incredibly... staged/manufactured? and like they're being shoved down our throats everywhere, like it feels forced in comparison to UNIS. Don't get me wrong, they're really talented and I love their debut song too but I don't find them as relatable and genuine as UNIS

They are beautifully different and I'm confident that they're slowly and surely gonna get big in the future.

They have senior groups leading KPOP these days so whenever Hybe debuts a group, of course, the fans from other groups in the same label would get curious and that's because it's someone from Hybe. The outcome will always be, since it's from Hybe, the same label as their favs, then they will also support it. It's been always like that so it's no surprise why they get instantly famous. However, the only thing I was a little disappointed about is, that they remind me so much of New Jeans. I was hoping that Hybe would create something new for them. They are better than that. As someone who loves New Jeans, Illit's debut, left a sour taste for me. I mean, we already have NJS for that genre, so why create another one. The originality was just not there. So yeah, I just hope they make their own style cuz they have so much potential. This is why I prefer UNIS more.
