Great test ride one the Ducati Gene, I got in late on the premier so I thought I would come and watch it from the start lol, Ducati makes a nice bike girl, good job on the video Gene, ride safe out there girl 👊🏼😎🤗
Grew up thinking Harley was the pinnacle of all bikes but too expensive for most. So if you had one you where very lucky. I had a couple sportsters in the 90s and then in 2015 I bought my first dyna wide glide. Thought I had the best of the best bikes in the world. About 5 years after buying the Harley I rode my first sport bike, a gixxer 600, my daughters. Then her boyfriends Yamaha R1. Few months later I had my own R1. My most favorite bike now. I have taken it on several 400+ mile trips as well in a day. It’s never a problem. Keeping off the gas is a problem. Lol. Harley’s look cool and sound great. My R1 has much more performance and quality handling and great stopping power. Mind is now open. Shadetree surgeon helped me with that as well. For the love of motorcycles. Try to support and comment when I can. Wish you much success in your channel and hope it grows the way you want it.
Hey Maw, I haven’t ridden any KTM’s at this point, but they have a great reputation! Guess the easy thing to do would be to say, do you like red or orange? 😆
the more I see Ducatis, some Triumphs and Ninjas, it *really* makes me want to ride a sporty and do stupid stuff. I've only ridden cruisers and am itching to zip around on something like that. that said, another solid video Gene!
Gah this video is making me miss my fz09 something fierce. Def not the same as a Ducati but dang it! Facebook marketplace here I come. Thank you stimulus moneys 🤣🤣 Great video Gene!
I primary ride sportbikes or sporty style bikes (Naked bikes like the streetfighter). I currently own an 05 FZ1 and a 05 ZX6R and I have a difficult time getting comfortable for long rides on a cruiser (hurts my back). I used a to do a lot of touring on my 05 R6 that I used to own and when I had my Hayabusa, 500 miles a day was a breeze and super comfortable. I do have an '88 Virago 750 as a project bike, but I'm think I might be able to ride it 100 miles in a day max, they just not comfortable to me at all.
@@OneDownGeneUp It's very comfortable, handles like you would expect, but it is brutally fast and yet Suzuki has done an amazing job of making it easy to ride and the power is controllable.
Yo Gene Up, I love the ducati diavel. They are expensive to maintain 15000 mile service will cost you a little over $1,000. Tires only last about 6000 miles. Nice but expensive upkeep. Keep the shiny side up
I finally stopped drinking the HD kool-aid last year and went with another brand....best thing i ever did, especially when it comes to appreciating other motorcycles....not that i still do not like HD, i just thought something was missing.....something with performance and good brakes was definately the right decision...
@@OneDownGeneUp lol well....Ducati Multistrada, i'm short, but one foot up, one down just like on a dirt bike, adv bikes, to me, have the best seating positions, and the performance is amazing...and i'll never ride again without heated grips lol, now, since i'm in Ohio also, needing a couple good down pours to clean these roads...its still kinda sketchy
I own a 2021 Streetfighter V4 S. It’s my 18th bike and I’ve been riding 29 years. It’s f’ing fantastic. Shame your test ride was in traffic on cold, dirty roads.
The sportiest bike I ever rode was also the sketchiest... my friend's Honda CB 900 F from the "80s. Unexpected raw power, torn seat, unaccustomed seating position, squishy brakes, all thrown into our Boston area traffic. It was a blast but I would have loved it more if our roads and drivers weren't so sketch! I'll stick with my Dyna Low Rider for now, but if I ever moved somewhere with a little more breathing room I might consider a cheap sport bike as a second bike. Probably not, but never say never, right? Keep up the good work Gene
Thanks for stopping by, Matt! Wow, that sounds very sketchy 😬 I’m glad you survived and life to tell the tale 😂 sounds like it was a blast nonetheless!
I had a cb900f back in the 80s too. What’s really sketchy is hitting 120, two up in the dark, with lights off trying to out run the cops with a ‘couple of shandy’s’ onboard. Don’t try this at home kids. 😇🏴
Thanks for testing out this sport bike! I actually considered a sport bike for my first bike and that was because I actually felt very comfortable on it. But for now I may look into having one later. I prefer to get a cruiser type motorcycle first.
1976 Yamaha Enduro, and a 1982 Yamaha Virago 750 have been my first bikes. I am looking for another now, and maybe starting my own motovlog. Believe it or not, I am not looking to get another Yamaha right now.
@@OneDownGeneUp Used bikes from 2005-2010, Suzuki Boulevard C50T, Honda VT1100 Shadow Spirit, Honda VTX1300C, and also a Honda VTX1300T have all been on my radar. There are other motorcycles, but these are the ones in my cycletrader search for bikes within my price range and also local.
@@OneDownGeneUp I have a V4S and although comfortable and placid at low speeds, I certainly wouldn't recommend it for a beginner, as it's pretty violent above 10k revs and requires a lot of experience to get the most out of it without endangering yourself. For those that aren't going to rev it that hard, there's plenty of nicer alternatives out there that don't make 208 hp and are far easier to live with. Keep up the good work with the video. I love seeing ladies riding and encouraging other women to ride through their channels - it's very empowering and we're all very supportive of you!
Good vid! Always grew up with cruisers and although I was never only into cruisers I didnt think I would love sport bikes as much as I do... I own an Fxlrs but its a shared bike between my husband and I so when we both ride I'll ride my brothers CB500F. I feel like its so easy as opposed to the low rider.
Droollll... that V4. But also, makes me wish it was warm enough to get out my Ducati. :( I’ve only ever ridden sport bikes, I’ve never ridden a cruiser. Great video. Was a little disappointed with the traffic on the highway but what can you do.
You’re telling me! I was ready to rip it then all the lanes to the left of me were at a dead stop up ahead and my lane was going so slow! Maybe I’ll have to try it out again.
im taking delivery today.. from a background of R1M than to the S1k to a naked.. maybe im getting old, need a better sitting position.. for me this bike can ride slow in the city and a monster on a highway..
Yeah that's a cool bike and sounds awesome 👍 Yep the fins on the sides definitely helps with the stability at high speed and are nice on the track or road. I have a friend who owns a Panigale & a Street fighter. I could see one of those in your garage 😃
All that snow on the ground and you're riding. I can't do that anymore. It does sound nice. I just don't understand why sport bikes are so high so it's hard to put your feet down on the pavement. All that air space between the tire and fender, it could be down and thus easier to reach the ground. I never had 1 but I would like to ride a few and decide if I would spend the money. I did own a 1972 Kawasaki H2 Mach IV and a 1973 Kawa Z1. 2 super bikes of their time. The H2 Mach IV was the fastest bike I have ever ridden to date. So how much does it cost?
Hey Greg! Thanks for watching. This one was the Streetfighter V4 S, which has a pretty price tag of about $25,000! I definitely would say get out there and at least test ride a sport bike if you can! It was a ton of fun. I don’t know why they have to have such a high seat height either!
I have rode a sports bike not a big fan! I'll stick to my HD sporty's and my Johnny Page Chopper for now. Would love to have an Indian, in the cruiser or Bagger style. Keep up the good work! Be good and be safe!!
Well this is one of best looking bikes out there imo. Never considered buying one because the power is ridiculous and figured wouldn't be good bike country roads around here.
Sport bikes are just not my cup of tea. Cruisers with forward controls, with a relaxed seating posture is the only way to go for me. They are way to fast, and speed always gets me in trouble. I enjoyed watching and listening to your thoughts on the Streetfighter. I'll leave the sport bikes to all the younger generation! Ride and stay safe in Ohio!=)
I tried a Sport bike once and just short 1/2 mile ride my wrists were hurting so bad, carpal tunnel, I could not stand it, but they are nice around town bikes. I owned a Yamaha Radian more of sport cruiser and it was fun but about 60 to 100 mile ride was all my bottom could handle lol. Have fun and be safe.
I have not seen anyone pull their clutch in so far from the turn, you are learning bad riding habits. Stay In first and pull the clutch in before you come to a stop, not a quarter mile before you turn. Not picking on you, just trying to help out. I also have a SFV4 S, and it is an awesome bike!
