Be interesting to see how you polish the trowels. Best thing I have found to polish and clean at same time is 4 inch grinder fitted with a Flapper disc. You can get them in different compounds but are better than normal grinder disc. Love all the tips and tricks.

ive found leaving it in hydrochloric acid for 30mins then wirebrushing gets all the cement off. it'll be a bit rusty but after using it for a day the rust comes off

Have you tried leaving it covered in cola for 24 hours? Cola cleans many things, just a thought.

funny i was looking for brick acid today in wicks just got to remove small stains on an old patio ,cheapest was £14 a pop ! when i used to work on sites you could always "find" that stuff ,also "found" the carbon stone small blocks they put in a machine to finish concrete floors , not on site anymore but still got a few liberated items in the shed .Anyone else used to "find " the odd box of screws or nails that turned up in the shed ?

Get well soo Andy mate .
When me and Al were down in leamington, Ollie at A & E took our trowel and got it gleaming and smooth , he used a sander 👌🏼.
When I cleaned the two trowel Rodian gave me and Alex ( 2 years rust on ) I used the sanding pad on my multi tool , came up lovely .
Contact me on e mail with your address so I can send you a go pro 8 charger and spare batteries . We have a 10 . You can’t have too many batteries 🔋👌🏼🧱👍🏼

@@bricklayersworldwithandy6277 it's excellent for cleaning the old level but turns those trowel and shovels black. But always taught last thing clean down the spot boards and wash your trowel. Much better then rubbing it with soles of your boots the next morning. So much has changed in my lifetime,. The old voucher books non of this stopping tax. And cash in a pay packet. But that changed and it was in the pub Friday lunchtime sign the back of the cheque to get it cashed. Good days.

@@bricklayersworldwithandy6277 same as that all the fun seems to have gone out if it. Can you imagine what would happen now if you nailed the Foreman's bucket to the scaffold boards 😂. And all this no shorts I get it cement can burn. But I've walked off jobs when they said long sleeve shirts. Too many college boys running sites never laid a brick. They may have all the qualifications. Maybe I just got old. But I think the time I had laying was the best. You knew the groundwork guys would always have an Irish accent and brilliant attitude to life. Ive seen them with four ton of ballast tipped in the road knock it up into concrete with back of a JCB. And last job I did was smoking area then separate vape area. When I was a lad you could see clouds of fragrant smoke drifting out the footings 😂
