I absolutely love how honest Peter is throughout the entire episode. He is such a smart man and hearing what he has to say is fascinating. Thank you so much Ryan and Peter. What a wonderful interview.
Fable 2 is the first video game I completed for a long time after becoming bored with video games. Wasn't necessarily the games' faults but my habits changed and couldn't get through more than a couple hours of a single player game. Fable 2 gave me the impetus to complete it because of all its charms and joys and was wonderfully epic.
I adore this man, he created a part of my childhood. Sure, every now and then he is a daydreamer, just imagining things that dont turn out to be as great as he thought they could be. But I love Fable so much. Wish he would return to the series.
Peter has a real knack for persuasion. He rightly hasn't much trust in what he says though. I'd love to believe he's genuine and honest... Fool me once... Still, he came up with unique, cool concepts.
fable 2 was the first one I played back when my 360 was still working. it was fantastic, then i played the first and the third and they were great as well. fable 2 will always have a special place in my heart
Just like Sean Murray; the video game community should admire Peter for his visionary thinking. Sure, he made promises that were not met, but the industry moves forward because of people like this. I'm very sure if the technology was available at the time, he would have kept most of his promises.
I think Peter Molyneux is done as far as the game industry is concerned. The big problem is: back at Bullfrog and Lionhead, he had a team of some of the best people in the game industry, one of them was a child prodigy in AI ! . Those were the people who could make his ideas work as actual games. Also, a solid QA team to tell him which ideas were too ambitious or didn't work. Now, at 22cans he has a small team of amateurs with limited experience. His post-Godus reputation prevents him from hiring the best and the brightest, and he's admitted he's not a brilliant coder. You can have the greatest ideas in the world, but it's of no use if you don't have the people behind to make them reality.
I absolutely loved Fable: TLC, but then they tried to dumb it down in the titles after and make everything a joke. They changed way too much about the gameplay and the storyline. Fable had great potential, but for some reason they destroyed something good.
what he says about Lionhead and keeping developers engaged is exactly why Sony consistently produces better games than Microsoft. Microsoft approaches game development from the business management side whereas Sony uses their experience of managing musical artists and nurtures developers such as Guerrilla games and allows them to make the game they want if they provide enough of the games that they are asked to make
Grizeus depends, do you criticize most everybody else for regurgitating the same old structure with a couple tweaks here and there? Every creative medium needs somebody trying to push what has been done. If you don't like his stuff, don't play them. This is an interview on his career and his experiences, not an interrogation. Ryan asked a fantastic series of questions with respectful honesty, while not chastising the man for having a contagious passion for what he does. Take that as you will. I'm looking forward to more parts.
I've longed for a LONG time(since Half Life 1 first came out) to make video games. To me its better than making a movie or write a book. But Peter's right, its HEL on a company/design team. Even if its something you live, a family is so hard on them. Its a reason I'm looking at more at just selling, like running a Gamestop store. I want to make games still, but even more, I want a wife and kids
People love this guy despite him lying more than EA, Ubisoft and Activision combined - lying about entire game mechanics up until day of release, yet if another company so much as removes hat shown in a trailer they are the devil?
He did lie. The time when he told people you could plant an acorn and griw it into an oak tree? He had not even told his team at the time, they found out the same time as everyone else. gamerant.com/peter-molyneux-fable-game-features-lies-trung-74903/ Here is an article in which Molyneux admits he lied, he himself says he is a liar, so you cant say he is not.
So he's still incredibly boring. No wonder why he only made 2 good games (fable 1 and dungeon keeper) I wish people would stop giving their money in his pocket he is worse then Shaun Murray
iamundergrace He definitely started out the way but I think it's interesting that, despite his lack of experience in the industry, he was able to bring something new to the table with his different perspective. Love him or hate him, he really did send waves across the industry with his clever and interesting ideas.
I absolutely love how honest Peter is throughout the entire episode. He is such a smart man and hearing what he has to say is fascinating. Thank you so much Ryan and Peter. What a wonderful interview.
We have to give peter respect for always being able to admit his failures and not just victories
i miss fable so much....
Amanda Bellman Same I always get goosebumps listening to the intro or just the parts the guild master narrates
Amanda Bellman Yeah I wish it was on Switch
And i Black and White :( I played 1 and 2 so much, i need a new Game :D
said no one ever!
Apart from that guy and me agreeing and probably others
Black and White is one of my favourite games of all time. We need a modern take on that game.
Great guy. Clearly passionate about games

Now please..get an exclusive interview with Sean Murray! THAT would be interesting...
If we can find him, he's a fugitive at this point.
LOL...True xD!
This aged well
The guy is... unsteady at times, but man, Populus and Dungeon Keeper are game-changing masterpieces. Thanks, Pete!
I'm here because of the dungeon keeper logo was on the thumbnail. Damn I miss playing that game!!
Peter has a real knack for persuasion. He rightly hasn't much trust in what he says though. I'd love to believe he's genuine and honest... Fool me once...
Still, he came up with unique, cool concepts.
we need a Fable game that is huge and there is a time system where events go and come each day and you can go back in time
Zelda had the same time system in Majoras Mask
KLNDZ I didn't even notice
He's earnest, smart and honest. This video was really illuminating.
fable 2 was the first one I played back when my 360 was still working. it was fantastic, then i played the first and the third and they were great as well. fable 2 will always have a special place in my heart
I like how passionate he is^^
So is this like a month long interview?
Thank you guys for being so real and insightfull.
Thanks ryan
I have said it many times Nintendo and Peter Molyneux need to work together.
Just like Sean Murray; the video game community should admire Peter for his visionary thinking. Sure, he made promises that were not met, but the industry moves forward because of people like this. I'm very sure if the technology was available at the time, he would have kept most of his promises.
idk, that abrupt ending doesn't look very 'unfiltered' to me. Don't think we didn't notice it had cuts

I love Black and White.Such a good game.
Nice ! I like this very much. Peter is a perfect guest. I love his storys and sure..also his games ;)
Peter was ahead of his time. Its not his fault he's a genius.
I want Peter to read me bedtime stories.
I love Fable II
I miss fable it was my childhood
I absolutely loved Fable: TLC, but then they tried to dumb it down in the titles after and make everything a joke. They changed way too much about the gameplay and the storyline. Fable had great potential, but for some reason they destroyed something good.
I love listening to his voice, so soothing like Gandalf lul.
Everyone forgotten about him ripping everyone off on kickstarter yet?

This guy blagged his way though his career!
Fable 4. Black & White 3.
Both would be hits. Imagine what they could do with Black and White nowadays 😍
I agree 2 was the best and never got a pc release QQ
Ryan Mcaffrey looks like a Fabel character
We need some more AAA core games from Peter I hope it happens
But WHAT ABOUT MILO RYAN, WHAT HAPPENED TO MILO??
It was only a tech demo. It was never gonna be a game.
Yeah I know, I couldnt care less about it, but I'd like to hear the segment of the interview about it
Caolan Lennon Exactly. That's what I wanna hear about.
Fable used to be one of the best game franchises. It can be again!
Peter just make fable 2 an people will like you again
fable needs a reboot
Lol @ the Kinect part.
Had no idea he developed Dungeon Keeper.. why did EA have to butcher it?? Whyyy?
Didn't Peter say he would not take any interview a long time ago? Are you just going to keep breaking your own words till the end of the world?
That damn acorn.
very interesting ryan
After Peter Molyneux, screwed up Curiosity Cube, I have never liked him
The interviewer looks like the lyier from no man sky
Seem like peter and rocket of dayz fame. Are really good for ideas for games. But their follow seem to be lacking.
Before I watch this, does Ryan give Peter any sort of criticism for all the bullshit over-promises that Peter can never fulfill?
Grizeus depends, do you criticize most everybody else for regurgitating the same old structure with a couple tweaks here and there? Every creative medium needs somebody trying to push what has been done. If you don't like his stuff, don't play them.

Peter slightly addresses it on his own. It is very brief and minor though, so don't get your expectations too high.
Give us fable 4
DUNGEON KEEPER !
stop talking, new black and white for gods and goddesses sake...
I bought a xbox 360 for fable 2 after LOVING fable 1... 2 was ok... then the series just went bad after 2
I've longed for a LONG time(since Half Life 1 first came out) to make video games. To me its better than making a movie or write a book. But Peter's right, its HEL on a company/design team. What is this? Why am I hearing words coming out of his mouth?
Fable 3 is my favourite. I actually don't like Fable 2.
microsoft wants him to make xbox games and he’s like bugger off lol
Liar liar pants on fire 🔥
I've never been so early to a video, before a dislike comes up
This is a magical feeling :v

He liked fable 2 more than fable 1 ... now i know hes talkin shit
Ha I'm lonely
wow
Peter's outdated, couldn't repeat fable 1 success, all luck
Hashslingingslasher what are you talking about fable 2 was critically acclaimed and outsold it.
So he's still incredibly boring. No wonder why he only made 2 good games (fable 1 and dungeon keeper) I wish people would stop giving their money in his pocket he is worse then Shaun Murray
1st (I know I'm not the first but in about an hour no one will know)
