The European Federation, is a federal democracy comprising of 50 Nations.
In 2010, Russian President Vladimir Putin created an application to join the EU, by 2012, the Russian Federation joined the EU. In 2048 all 52 EU Member States held a vote to Federalise, 50 out of the 52 said yes, with only Switzerland and Andorra who voted to remain independent.
Thus, the European Federation was born.

I think this is called the Eurasian project in reality, so central Asian countries, Mongolia, Turkey and the Caucausus all belong, I don't think it was meant as federation though, more like a pipe dream of Putin to get rid of the military tensions in the region by freeing trade and settlement of territorial issues and to a certain extent opening up borders so that every country can benefit economically instead of what we have now.

And the idea of United Europe + Russia is actually a really good idea because our countries all have united living space, strongly tighted economies and infrastructure. This idea has nothing to do with Putin. Although he tried to realised in 2000's but it failed because of the tensions between EU+US & Russia. After that he switched the course of russian policy for working with China although it'll be bad for our country imo

The only thing standing between this being reality is the USA inflaming conflicts and the EU which refuses to interact with Russia and the "periphery" on an equal standing. Both the EU and the US only see Russia (and really anyone that isn't France, Germany, Benelux and Italy) as an unequal trading partner at best and an object of economic and political exploitation at worse.
I don't know if I agree whether your country's shift eastward being bad, it's not like it was voluntary, again the west was benefiting from your cheap resources and destabilizing your borders, that's not good will. Relatively speaking Europe's and the rest of the western economies are gonna be decimated by inflation and energy poverty. If Russia invests and develops its industries then it has the best chance of emerging as a powerful economic and industrial force, it does have the capacity and the potential so why not.
China will be inclined to cooperate with your country even though they, too, are aggressive and self serving partners (who isn't?) but at least China is not overthrowing the Mongolian or Kazakh government and turning them proxies that want to bleed you dry.
It's an interesting time geopolitically speaking, like you said this project would be amazing and would solve the problem by getting rid of the issue of core-periphery colonialist mentality of the west but they won't voluntarily agree to it.

But the fundamental conflict is built primarily on centuries of mistrust following the Mongol conquests, not geostrategic interest.

If this were to happen. The US and Canada would join together to form The North American Federation. With the European Fed, being its main ally.
You can have 2 federation unions still being allies, as long we can agree on manners like trade and technologies.
African Union, ASEAN, South American Union will also be established, then the world will have less independent countries and more conglomerate bodies within unions to boost economies and mutual benefits.
This outcome makes a lot of sense for countries to collaborate on difficult issues like poverty, social problems which can all be tackled if countries can work together to solve issues, as long as democracy remains in place.
Russia joining the European Union is far off because of many factors, not just the Kremlin but also Russia itself with so many different cultures not be able to develop itself into a rich economies because of the Kremlin´s grip on the far east of Russia.
