Did you do the restoration yourself? I have one of these vacuums and I'm trying to get the electric motor off to clean it and repair the wires going to the motor and I can't seem to get it off. I took out the 4 screws that I assumed held it to the base but the motor wont budge still.
@kylekrichbaum2392 yes, I did. It's like the motor was pressed into the housing or something, if that makes sense. I've tried prying the housing off with a flathead screwdriver but it won't budge besides the edge of it flexing a little bit. Does the motor, housing, and impeller/fan all come out as one complete assembly or does that aluminum housing come off separate from the motor?
@@historyfeind1898 don’t pry the motor off… do a bit of tapping on the under side. Tap on the fan with the motor upside down. It all comes out as one piece. And it is not pressed into the housing.
@@historyfeind1898 no, definitely don’t do that. Just try to get a small amount of leverage between the fan and housing. Remember, even pressure is better than brute force. It will give, and you don’t need to hulk anything.
Fabulous job! And the motor sounds top notch as well. 👍
Fantastic work Kyle it looks and sounds wonderful indeed.
Top notch!!! Looks and sounds a bit like an older Hoover.😎

Did you remove the belt connected to the motor and Brushroll?

@kylekrichbaum2392 ok, I'll try that. Thanks! So I should try tapping on the spindle that the belt rides on maybe?
