  • The customer requested I replace the rear three spark plugs under the intake plenum as he replaced the front three. I believe he was thinking there was a misfire going on when actually it has a code in the CVT for a Judder condition, P17F1. There is an extensive bulletin in this condition caused by a worn drive chain. There is also a P0456 Small Evap Leak code in the ECM.

I really appreciate your posting this. I'll be swapping plugs in my Murano soon and having the torque values and sequence for the manifold is absolutely priceless! Thank you!

I surprised you didn't suggest a transmission fluid change. Piece of cake, anyone with minimal tools and knowledge and a floor jack can do it. Videos abound. Everyone knocks CVT transmissions but if you're not an extreme leadfoot and change you fluid at reasonable intervals these transmissions will last indefinitely and the added fuel economy will pay for your fluid.

The CVT in the 2016 I have is non-serviceable and fluid can't be changed on it

Wow, he showed nothing of what he disconnected or taking it off, only after shots. And should have replaced both PCV since you're back there and have everything off.

Can you make a video of how to change transmission fluid on nissan murano?

If I get one for that job I certainly will. I'm surprised there are none on UA-cam.

I watched a video on doing it that was based on a nissan rogue but the procedure was the same. Its not hard at all. Basically drain the trannie through the bottom drain bolt on the transmission, measure EXACTLY what you take out, (be extra careful not to spill any when you drain it as it will effect your measurement) and refill that same amount through the capped off “dipstick” stick tube in the engine bay. I did that 3 times over the space of a couple weeks and it changed out the bulk of the fluid. I would definitely recommend you get it done if you havent already. That “lifetime fluid” nonsense nissan tries to say is absolute nonsense. The fluid I drained out and replaced was black as molasses.
Also don’t try and “flush” the transmission. Thats asking for problems. Just drain and refill and you’ll be fine.
