My grandpa passed away 4 days ago. This video will always remind me of the happy moments with him. He would send out email chains to everyone he knew, myself included (his granddaughter) with random articles or videos attached. This was one of his favorites. He said once, “I didn’t know they could train giraffes to do this.” No one ever told him this was animated. He was so loving and selfless. He always put his family before himself. He was so kind and so pure. He was an expert woodworker, and I have a box in my room that he gifted me last year. He woodworked and golfed right up to the end. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, and was buried with their sacred items. He lived a good life; 93 years. He is deeply missed and I hope one day in the far future I will see him again. Grandma misses you. Your kids miss you. Your grandchildren miss you. And your great grandchildren miss you. We love you grandpa.
You will see him again. I’m sure of it. I would say that I am sorry for you loss… but you have not lost anything. You are richer and privileged for having this wonderful being in your life. Don’t ever forget that. He lives on through you and with you. ❤️ P.S. Its one of my favorite videos as well😊
I can’t believe this animation is 8 years old already, I still remember when I was a small child and seeing this video on UA-cam. The animation looks still fantastic after so many years :)

my mom sent me this and she thought its real, cant believe so many other parents/grandparents around the world think the same, says a lot about the older generation
Excuse me, OLDER generation?? I was born in 1960 and I recognized this was CGI instantly. I would take issue with your comment, however for the most part you are probably correct. Beginning in 1978, I was employed by The Boeing Co. for over 25 years. During the 1990s, I was on the small team of technical illustrators who created the first 3D computer animation where one could literally fly through the "new" Boeing 777 simply by moving a mouse. The operator could simply turn at any time to see the wiring layouts along the fuselage, etc. Our presentation even made the local evening news. We used the same system as was used to build the Jurassic Park dinosaurs. We used "FlyThru" software on a Unix-based system. So there, you!! (kidding!-- just not about my career.)
@@stp479 Hello! This is true. Boomers were the end of the lucky ones, where one income was enough to support a family, and college didn't cost as much as a small house these days. My kids are both millennials and I really feel sympathy for all of them/you!!
Well my mom (born in 1952) sent me this and she thinks this is real. I know this is animated (it’s in credits at the end ) but I don’t want to tell her that this is not real 😢
I could tell it was computer animated right away, though that was more due to the behaviour and movements of the giraffes, as opposed to the actual imagery. Either way it was funny and cute, and someone must have spent a lot of time on this :D
Look at the credits; this took an entire team to produce, and Paul Lowe is right that it's obviously a demo. And I would bet that the company has acquired a good many new customers because of it.

Brilliant! Love the creativity. I had feared that the wonderings of the mind as expressed in cartoons - and nowadays, animation - had atrophied over the generations, bowing to the almighty pursuit of profit. Sometimes, you just need the creative expression without any profit confinement. This is good, real good!
Absolutely hilarious! I love this video, clever, funny, and great video chicanery. I love real giraffes, ones I've observed in zoos and through the media. In the most basic accounts of their behavior and anatomy, "high diving" and "swimming", would be the least likely things they would ever be able to achieve. Even in this day and age, there is little proof they can swim at all, although some believe they might be able to float.
Perhaps giraffes without top front teeth are more likely to drown. Imagine the high water pressure at a mouth first jump and a full water blown giraffe throat XD Evolutionary ;)
I'm surprised most people can't tell it's animation, hahaha.. It proves to show a lot of people do not watch animals on documentary shows. From the moment they walk along the circular stairs, the way they move it's perfectly digitally animated.
At about 3:47 that was a full twisting reverse two and a half (with the twist on the first rotation). I know that dive, I've done it many, many times- the animators obviously have personal springboard diving experience

this is a animation, if you didn't know

I can tell, their necks would snap if it was real Nice job on the Animation
On my god! Well,no one is worse enough to believe that!
They're very well trained. Giraffes are notoriously difficult to train to swim, let alone dive.
Edward Day Computer animated giraffes, however, are much easier to train. And cheaper to feed too!
I don't know, I've tried it and the treats I gave them kept getting stuck in the usb port.
Edward Day The trick is to buy virtual treats online. Then they're already in there.
That's why you only use giraffes who are on a diet. They don't want any treats; they just want to work out.
Lol to all of these comments! This is funny answer ^_^
Omg. Spectacular animation. Very amusing take on one of earth’s most beautiful, adorable, gentle and shy species, the noble Giraffe.
