    Thank you! Your video was very thorough. The train ride looked absolutely awesome. My wife and I will be there in June and I’m considering the Hiram train. So does the one way ticket also include the returning bus from Machu Picchu Citadel? Do we have to purchase return bus tickets on our own in order to make it back for the High Tea? If I’m correct, you said the High Tea was included with the inbound ticket to Machu Picchu.

      This question is answered around the 0:40 mark (it says "return bus included"), but it´s said quickly, so it´s easy to miss. But yes, everything is included. You will all be together on a tour of Machu Picchu because that is included in your ticket and the tour will take you back to the Belmont Hotel for High Tea. There will be no "making it back" in your case because you won´t make the mistake we did and buy separate tickets (unless you want to make that mistake and accidently get a private tour). High Tea is scheduled by Hiram Bingham so that it occurs right after your tour with a guide that is provided by Hiram Bingham. Even in our case, we were an hour late to high tea and the guide accompanied us to the Sanctuary lodge (the lodge is inside Machu Picchu) and we still made the return bus to Aguas Calientes.

      So, I would explain it a bit differently. The inbound Hiram Bingham ticket from Cusco to Aguas Calientes includes the trip (obviously), the bus from aguas calientes to the Citadel, the ticket to Machu Pichhu, a guide in English or Spanish for a group tour in the citadel, and the high tea at the Sanctuary Lodge. The Sanctuary Lodge is right in front of the park entrance, so you don’t need to buy bus tickets for this part. But, if you are going to return to Cusco on other trains (expedition, vistadome, etc), you do need to buy the bus ticket to go back to Aguas Calientes. It costs US$12, and can be bought online or at the ticket office next to the park entrance (take a look at the consettur website). This trip is amazing and it’s worth the price. The inbound journey is a must, but if tou can do both ways, the better. Ah, I did the inbound journey last moth and they also gave us some ‘gifts’: a backpack, a stainless steel water bottle, face masks and hand sanitizer. I hope it helps!

    thanks for the excellent video! A quick question. Once you get to the citadel, the ticket they provided you is time ticket right (sounds like it’s for 1PM)? Is it possible to ask for different ticket? I’ll be staying at the Belmond Sanctuary so I would prefer to go into the citadel at the last time slot to avoid crowd.

      Hi! Thanks for your comment, question, and compliment. I am glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful. The last time slot is a good time slot. I am not 100% sure I know the answer to your question, but I am leaning towards no. We bought a ticket for a timeslot and our train ticket came with a ticket to Machu Picchu for a time slot. Because we could not switch tickets, we got a private guide. The park tries to track and control who goes in when and for how long to help with their statistics and to preserve the park and protect it from over tourism. Your personal data is associated with the ticket so even switching with someone else might not work. I can´t remember if they asked for ID when I showed the ticket, but I remember inputting my passport number. But you could try asking or try to switch with someone else, or do what we did and just buy a ticket for the timeslot you want. You might get a private guide like we did! Let us know how you tried to resolve the problem and how it went. Update us in the comments please!

    Hi I have booked the tickets for this train in June. Are you allowed to carry your big suitcase along with you on the train?I was told they do not allow anything other than small bags.

    • @theSSHITT
      @theSSHITT  2 роки тому

      Yes, if you look in the beginning of the video, you will see we have 1 small rolling suitcase and one large one. Check out the 1:33 mark. They take your luggage and store it on board, take it off once you arrive, and deliver it to your hotel.
