It’s Pot Likker folks. My mother is from Pennsylvania. She was Pennsylvania Dutch. And, she called it Pot Liquor or likker. That is the best part of the soup or stew. It’s where all of the vitamins and taste and nourishment is. For heavens sake people, get on with yourselves.
Talli Faye, that looks delicious. Thank you.

Talli Faye I saw your first video of Green Chili Stew but couldn’t find the whole chilies. After watching this one couple days ago I found the chilies at Walmart just like you did. I fixed the stew yesterday and we enjoyed it after our Friday night Shabbat service. It is delicious! Thank you so much! I so enjoy watching your videos. I’ve tried several of your recipes and have enjoyed each one. May God bless you and keep you!

Love your outfit, super cute! I have to go to the store tomorrow (I live in the central midwest and we are supposed to get hit hard with sleet and snow this weekend; it's already SUPER COLD now! 🥶) and I'll go to Walmart to get some of those whole roasted chilis because I want to make this, because you're right-I've never seen those in our grocery stores either. Which is strange? Oh, and for all the critics out there who keep pickin' on our Talli Faye: Pot Liquor is a very old Southern food and Soul Food term derived from 1) "pot" - the vessel a meal is cooked in, and 2) "liquor" - an old-fashioned word for "liquid," meaning the liquid that remains after cooking meats or vegetables, which is usually as good as the meat and/or vegetables. Anyways, this looks super good, so I'm not gonna be scared; I'm gonna try it! God bless you and thank you!! 🥰😋🙏

Love the green chili taste, I used to get roasted Hatch chili's at the local grocery store for $5 per 25 lb. box, I would peel them and put in zip lock bags and they would last 2 years in the freezer and would taste as fresh as the day I packed them....they would probably last 3-4 years if vacuum bagged and frozen.

Talli Faye, while "pot liquor" is not offensive to me at all, growing up in the South my mother, aunts, and grandmother only referred to the broth of any type of greens, i.e. collards or turnip greens as pot liquor. When you said someone had called you out for calling any type of broth that, I was curious and looked up the definition of pot liquor and this is what it said..."Pot liquor, sometimes spelled potlikker or pot likker is the liquid that is left behind after boiling greens (collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens) or beans. It is sometimes seasoned with salt and pepper, smoked pork or smoked turkey. Pot liquor contains high amounts of essential vitamins and minerals including iron, vitamin A and vitamin C. Especially important is that it contains high amounts of vitamin K, which aids in blood clotting. Another term is collard liquor." You call your stuff whatever you want to call it and pay no attention to what those critical folks say! Your stew looks delicious! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
