Such an awesome, interesting and absorbing interview. I feel strongly that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. At 61 years of age (this month), I have never felt more in alignment with Emmy's descriptions of philosophies. I would and could really benefit from this guidance because the tools taught could set one free for sure.
please make these format of discussion a regular thing.. it is EXTREMELY useful to be able to hear your perspective on life and healing..i nearly got beaten by it all a few times and I'm lucky to still be alive so i hope you can still do these discussions and expand on the WAYS to heal after trauma or huge disasters in life etc i wish you could help guide me in real life to being my full potential that got beaten out of me so often thankyou for sharing your thoughts on these extremely important things Lots of Love to you from Rolland in Scotland
I totally agree, the final words of being there for others, just as others are there to help us overcome difficult situations, awakened my heart, which was numb with nostalgia. Thank you to both
Freedom and choice. I love existential therapy because it offers the person an empowering way of looking at their lives and a compass for finding direction through the multiple choices we make each day of our lives. These choices can either orient us towards freedom and away from suffering or we can choose not to change anything. Even a choice to not change anything is still a choice. I’ve become very passionate about existential therapy. The book mentioned at the beginning of the interview is also one of my favourites, I use it often in practice.
The best 1:07:05 I've spent in a long time. Zazen (zen meditation) opened me to recognizing many aspects of existential therapy. I am so grateful for your approach and philosophy.
wow! your summary of the therapeutic process/healing/finding and being ourselves/the search for meaning/awakening is EXTREMELY profound and extremely GREAT to hear they are things that i have been trying to navigate through for a long time after being quite broken by very bad events in life, and my struggle to get free from my conditioned false self to feeling safer and more confident to be truly me, it is REALLY REALLY good to be able to listen to your thoughts on these and other aspects of life Best wishes to you Always from Rolland in Scotland
I was interviewed by Tom Ahern for the MINDMATE podcast, which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/be8ZFe5vuSA/v-deo.htmlsi=TCGd9kCuZJcw-IN5

And for making this understandable, as if I already know it. Which I guess we all do.
Thank you emmy very interesting even the sound of your voice calms and reassures the changes i am making in my life slowly ❤
Thankyou for this Emmy and guest. Very thought provoking. Xo
It was me who was Tom's guest! He has posted the video on his own channel, but very kindly agreed to send me a copy for my channel too.

It was such a pleasure to speak with you Emmy! I can’t wait for round two! 🙏🙏
You asked good questions!
Thank you
it's a noble aim, but often a very difficult journey, to try to truly be ourselves in a world that often judges or pressures us
but i keep on trying

Love that thesis Emmy! Can it be read?
Like all PhD theses it can be found in the British Library and is accessible online.
