Such fun. The teasing between Palmer and Ames is so real - Jessie writes such great lines and Jay delivers them with just the right tone to keep me smiling throughout.
Thank you both....once more! You are so generous to share your wonderful books with us for free. And the narration is just so good ...thank you so so much for this great experience!
This was a great read and even better to listen to. Not only are Jesse's books great but she always leaves you with things to think about. Jay did a great job on it too. Thanks to both of you.
Loved Palmer and Ames beautiful story of friendship and love. Thank you for a wonderful way to spend the afternoon, listening to Jay and enjoying a great book!
I loved this book. Best friends becoming something more and having to decide how much love is worth. I enjoyed the banter and antics between the two and the musings in their heads. The small town seems wonderful and the other characters mentioned seem great - I can’t wait to read about them in future books! Dyess Audiobook review addition: I have previously read all of the books by this author and am now working my way through listening to them. This is my first time listening to a book done by Dyess. I've heard amazing things about him, but he simply blew this out of the water! Incredible. The different voices, different enough to easily distinguish characters, but it sounded completely natural. Smooth speaking, emotions, a wonderful presentation of this book.
I loved this story about Ames and Palmer! It was fantastic. Jay did a wonderful job with the narration! I’m going to be reading and listening to every book in the Sweet Water Ranch Series. Thank you Jessie and Jay!
Every book that I read of Jessie's I think that it can not be a better one. I love the teasing and the3 best friend feel God always puts people in our life for a reason. Some stay around and others are there just for a moment but it is always in God's plan. Keep writing Jessie. I love your books. Lavonda
I love the cover and the background. This is a great book also. I have the ebook so I now have two ways to enjoy it and I like this series. You and Jessie are a great team and I appreciate all your good works. God bless you!
Thank you, Karen! It is a great book, for sure! I was telling Jessie that it actually took me longer to make all the chapter backgrounds than normal, because I typically just scan through the chapter to make each chapter background relevant if possible - but I kept catching myself reading scene after scene just for the enjoyment of it!
😂❤ I'm knitting for the homeless on a rainy day with my sleeping dog beside me. Poor dog keeps waking up with my laughter. All the antics, characters and descriptions of locations are brilliant by Jesse's awesome writing and Jay oral expressions is hilarious 😂❤ keep it coming. Love it❤ thank you so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Palmer and Ames have been friends for years. He just received a letter from a lawyer about a billion dollar inheritance. But there's rules that go with it. He would have to get married and stay in the state. He wants to marry Ames but her plans are to leave the state and he doesn't know how she feels about him. When Palmer tells Ames, what is her reaction? Will Palmer go through with the inheritance? If not will he have to sell the ranch? What will happen between them and where will everyone end up living? Palmer's sister throws him for a loop with an announcement just before he makes up his mind. The book ends with her getting a surprise.... What happens in her book? Who will she end up with? I listened to an audio version of this book.
Maybe Jay will pop in with a better explanation when he gets back from celebrating the holiday with his family, but I have a couple of ideas. First, I'm pretty sure he'd point out that this is one of his first recordings (and his very first Jessie book) and his recording equipment has been upgraded through the years. While he did remaster this whole set before he made the videos and posted them here, I know he really wished he could totally re-record them, not just because of his better equipment, (which is probably the biggest factor in the difference you hear) but I definitely think it took a book or two before he got his "sea-legs" in romance. (Sweet romance was not a genre he read much - at all - before I begged him to do my books.) Also, we've done...I think 90 or so books together. This was the first, so I'd expect that he would get better at creating voices and refining the emotion and his presentation. I know back when we were doing those first books, I sad with almost every book that I couldn't believe how much better he got with each one, and just when I thought he was perfect, he'd improve something else. And, it will be five years in a couple of months, mabye I'm wrong, but I would expect his voice to change some as the years pass. I hope this helps a bit, Paula. I know for me, personally, I loved what he did then, and I love what he does now, and I really love that he has always been concerned about growing and changing and getting better with every single book that he does. I just really feel blessed and honored that someone with so much talent is willing to voice my books.
Jessie was spot on with her explanation! I think it is a combination of equipment (I'm counting me learning to use my audio software better in that) and me finding my sea-legs (love that!). I do hope I never stop trying to make each one better than the one before; Jessie's books absolutely deserve that!
Ok I'm awake and focused 😄
Let's do this.. I'm super excited!!
Haha! Thank you for you always-enthusiastic comments! They always brighten my day!

On chapter 5; I own this book & a few others in this series but hadn't read it yet. Interesting! Great so far.
Thank you, Julie! Glad you're enjoying it. I was still kind of finding my narrating sea-legs, so to speak, but it is a fantastic story!

Wonderful review - thank you so much!
Jay's voice is so different here than the latest books 📚 it great but sounds so different?
