Die Sedus Möbelproduktion in Geseke gehört zu den modernsten der Branche. Mit der vollautomatischen Plattenbearbeitung erfolgt die Produktion auf Basis der neuesten Produktionsphilosophie - „one piece flow“. Mit diesem Schritt nimmt Sedus eine führende Rolle in der gesamten Büromöbelindustrie ein.
Als besonderes Novum dabei - nicht nur in ästhetischer Hinsicht - gilt die sogenannte „Nullfuge“, hergestellt durch ein neuartiges Laserschweißverfahren. Durch den Wegfall von bisherigen Schmelzklebern beim Kantenanleimen entsteht eine ganz neue Kantenqualität, die sich auch durch eine verbesserte Wasserstand-festigkeit, Wärmestandfestigkeit und Kantenhaftung auszeichnet. Hinzu kommt die positive Ökobilanz: Der Energieaufwand der Produktion ist um 20 % reduziert und der prozessbedingte Materialausschuss um rund 5 % geringer.
Im Film zu sehen sind das automatisches Plattenlager (Einlagern, Umlagern, Auslagern), die Plattenaufteilsäge, der Pufferspeicher, die Kantenbearbeitungsmaschine, der Sortierspeicher zur Bildung kompletter Erzeugnisse und die Ausgabe der Teile an die Folgemaschine. Im Bearbeitungszentrum wird gefräst und gebohrt und dort werden die Freiform-Tischplatten gefertigt. Nach dem Abstapeln werden für einzelne Lose und Liefereinheiten Wagen gebildet. Nach der Endmontage werden die fertigen Produkte zur Verpackungsmaschine transportiert und für den Versand in Folien gewickelt.

What is new and special - and not only from an aesthetic point of view - is the so-called “zero seam“, which is achieved with a new kind of laser-welding process. Due to the absence of the thermoplastic adhesive that was previously used for edge gluing, the quality of edges is now completely new with improved water resistance, heat resistance and edge adhesion as the result. Another benefit is the positive eco-balance; the energy consumed for production has been reduced by 20 % and process-related waste is around 5 % lower.
The film shows the automatic panel storage system (putting into storage, relocating to another storage point, removing from storage), the panel saw, the buffer storage unit, the edge-processing machine, the sorting unit for the composition of complete products and the output of the parts to the subsequent machine. In the processing centre, the boards are milled and drilled. The free-form table tops are also made here. After unstacking, carriages are put together for individual lots and delivery units. Following final assembly, the finished products are taken to the packaging machine and wrapped in plastic film for delivery to the customer.
