I am a 66 yearr old SOLO off road rider. I would never ride a bike that I could not pick up comfortably. Weight can be the biggest hindrance when riding off road. Thanks for the video.
I just spent Monday working on the XT and now your vid has me going. Still waiting for the snow to melt but the forecast is looking good. Thanks for sharing!
Good intro. I finally got a performance cam in my Himalayan and I am pretty impressed. The bike gets a bit more power and pull especially in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I will have to say it definitely gets more in 3rd and 4th. I am still pretty buzzy at 75mph, which is still about the top speed. I did gain passing power in the 65mph range. I do have full exhaust, filter, and full fuel tuner as well.
You are so lucky in the USA to have all the wild areas to freely explore any time you want to. Here in England we have very few places to ride off road. Watching you and others video's has convinced me to buy a XT but the 225 Serow not the 250 due to it being even lighter. They don't stay up for sale very long over here and are snapped up very quickly. Thanks for all the inspiration you have given me to try it.
Nope, Haven't been in any technical canyon in a minute. I took a break from canyoneering due to an injury and got involved with other things like dual sport moto riding. Just busy with other stuff.
Thanks for making all these great videos! I have a 87 TW200 and really thinking about picking up an XT250 or 225 as my next bike. How does low end compare? Can the XT250 tractor up in 1st gear like the TW? Love to hear your opinion since you have time on both. Thanks man!
You're welcome, thank you very much for watching! By all means get an XT250, total tractor in 1st and you got that bit of extra power. I love mine, forever bike. You'll appreciate that bit of extra power on the pavement.
Inspirational for me and my new to me, lightly used (2300 miles) 2019 XT250. I got it for a guy who wanted a DR650 for a Mexico trip for highways and such! I am from the Sonoran desert but, I'll now be doing my adventures in West-Central Montana! Thanks for all that you provide information wise and experientially!! By rhe way... is that part of the Mojave Desert you're in?
@@precipiceofgrind looks like a pretty cool area. The Northwest of Arizona has cool spots for exploration. The desert is a big playground for us dual sporters.
Like all your vids, I've been riding my xt250 for a year now and have fun on it all the time. Do you take extra gas with you when going out on long trips in the desert
I changed the channel name over a year ago, pivoted the content. Canyoneering videos are still up on this channel, there's a playlist that includes the Dothraki Canyon. I took a break from canyoneering due to injury and got involved in other things while I healed.
To me Desert envisions sand, not rock. How are the roads with regards showing up on maps...google, etc. I would think fuel anxiety would be a common issue on a ride out there. Cool place.
D Rock, what size are your tusk d sports? I'm looking to replace the kenda 270s on my XT but having a hard time finding the same size tusk d sports so I'm thinking I'll need to deviate a bit from the stock tire size if that's correct.
Like The Video(s)? Hit That SUBSCRIBE!! Really Helps The Channel!! Thanks For Watching!

Absolutely! Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for watching!
Always like that Shivwits drive... some old stuff in there.
Audio sounds great. Beautiful scenery, love this video!
Love the XT, so versatile and your area is riders paradise!

Nice!! love how you explore all the small side roads
Those small side roads are the best part! Thank you very much for watching!
Just changed out the shield on my Scorpion helmet from winter to summer...getting antsy up here in Cdn. lol

I’m gonna have to go test ride one of those.
That looks awesome!
Got to love a 250, just bought a Honda 250 F,( Factory Powersports ) try a little off-road. 68 years old, better get started !!!
Oh absolutely! I wouldn't mind having one of those! Congrats!
Nice ride d rock and amazing views
Appreciate you watching!
Another good video, I think the new mic and camera are working great.
Appreciate you watching! So stoked to not have to deal with wires!
New camera gear is great. Thanks for the investment.
Right on! You're welcome!
Been enjoying the bike videos. Gotta get me one some time! Are you still doing canyons?

@@precipiceofgrindThanks! I’m looking for one nearby to test ride! I looked at a 03 Xt225 today and it was impressive, felt extremely lightweight!

Congrats on your XT, it's pure awesome! Yup, I'm in extreme Southwestern Utah which is the extreme Northeast corner of the Mojave.

Another great video! This bike is perfect for explorations. How do you like your handguards? I'm looking to buy some good ones for my XT250
Appreciate you watching! They are ok, Acerbis X Factor guards. I'm planning to switch to Bark Busters later down the line.
What type of side view mirrors are those? They look good!
Double Take Mirrors. Awesome mirrors, have them on all my bikes.

I certainly appreciate you watching! Yes, I always bring extra gas as a rule of thumb.
What happened to the Ufirst Outdoors and the canyon videos? I'm struggling to find them I know you had a video on dothraki canyon a while back.

I always carry extra gas with me as a rule among a few other things but I generally get a rough idea of mileage before I do a ride.

You will have to deviate and it's fine, had same issue when I got rid of the 270s on mine. 120/90x18 rear and 90/90x21 front.
@precipiceofgrind thank you sir!!
