One of the most interesting aspects of your first point, is that ability to communicate your plan to your client! A ton of clients come in and expect random "fun" workouts every time. I have found that being able to communicate why we are using an exercise, why we are programming the exercise the way we are, and why this exercise is going to help them get where they want to be is a great way to get them on board with the plan and help them understand that sometimes the program may seem repetitive, but it is built to help them! Thanks for the video!

I definitely think those explanations can be helpful sometimes! I find it totally depends on the client.
Some people need to know why they’re doing certain things, and others could care less about the process, and are almost solely focused on the outcomes. Basically, those people don’t want an explanation, only results.

Loving your videos!!! I’ve been contemplating becoming a personal trainer for a while and these videos are motivating! Was wondering if you still have programming template downloads or any other pt downloads to check out? I was looking on your website but didn’t see any….thanks again for all you’re doing!

Thanks for the kind words and support! Honestly, you might be better off asking here in the comments. We’re pretty backed up with emails already.
That said, if you want to email us commencefitness@gmail.com works!

@@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation thanks, I just sent you an email. I’m getting some not good vibes from the original trainer job I was supposed to take. It’s hard to know where to go when first starting out! Do you have any thoughts on big box gyms as a source of experience for new trainers? TIA

I have a client where he thinks that he can out compete me (he prefers me to join the workout with him) ... if I do my regular, he will hurt himself doing the excercise ... if I down play myself, he will get cocky ... I just allow it to where sessions are exciting and encouraging

    • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation

That’s a bit of a tough spot! I don’t work out with clients for a handful of reasons, and this is definitely one of them. I think it’s kind of silly for the client to think that they should be able to keep up with you though.
I mean, at the end of the day, you do teach exercise for a living. Personally, I would would recommend working out with the client less. Just say you want to focus more on them, and what they have going on. Only you know what’s best for them though!

Hi Jeff. Ive signed up 3 new clients! one for 12 session pkg, a 16 and a 24 sessions pkg. Tues/ Thurs 10, 11 and 3 pm. I have Acuity Scheduling Calendar app. How do I keep track of all this? Do I put all future sessions for each client on calendar now? Have you covered record keeping and scheduling in any of the UA-cams I could watch? Thanks Paul

It sounds like you’re killing it! Keep up the great work! I use Vagaro which is pretty similar to Acuity, both are good!
Vagaro keeps track of pretty much everything for me tbh. I did talk about Vagaro in the video below if you’re interested.
