I think the hand motions added a lot, and some of them appear, as San Ja says, to be similar to the conducting motions of Gregorian Chant. Be glad, let earth be glad, as glory floods her, ablaze with light from her eternal King, let all corners of the earth be glad, knowing an end to gloom and darkness. Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice, arrayed with the lightning of his glory, let this holy building shake with joy, filled with the mighty voices of the peoples. (Therefore, dearest friends, standing in the awesome glory of this holy light, invoke with me, I ask you, the mercy of God almighty, that he, who has been pleased to number me, though unworthy, among the Levites, may pour into me his light unshadowed, that I may sing this candle's perfect praises). (Deacon: The Lord be with you. People: And with your spirit.) Deacon: Lift up your hearts. People: We lift them up to the Lord. Deacon: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right and just. It is truly right and just, with ardent love of mind and heart and with devoted service of our voice, to acclaim our God invisible, the almighty Father, and Jesus Christ, our Lord, his Son, his Only Begotten. Who for our sake paid Adam's debt to the eternal Father, and, pouring out his own dear Blood, wiped clean the record of our ancient sinfulness. These, then, are the feasts of Passover, in which is slain the Lamb, the one true Lamb, whose Blood anoints the doorposts of believers. This is the night, when once you led our forebears, Israel's children, from slavery in Egypt and made them pass dry-shod through the Red Sea. This is the night that with a pillar of fire banished the darkness of sin. This is the night that even now throughout the world, sets Christian believers apart from worldly vices and from the gloom of sin, leading them to grace and joining them to his holy ones. This is the night when Christ broke the prison-bars of death and rose victorious from the underworld. Our birth would have been no gain, had we not been redeemed. O wonder of your humble care for us! O love, O charity beyond all telling, to ransom a slave you gave away your Son! O truly necessary sin of Adam, destroyed completely by the Death of Christ! O happy fault that earned for us so great, so glorious a Redeemer! O truly blessed night, worthy alone to know the time and hour when Christ rose from the underworld! This is the night of which it is written: The night shall be as bright as day, dazzling is the night for me, and full of gladness. The sanctifying power of this night dispels wickedness, washes faults away, restores innocence to the fallen, and joy to mourners, drives out hatred, fosters concord, and brings down the mighty. On this, your night of grace, O holy Father, accept this candle, a solemn offering, the work of bees and of your servants' hands, an evening sacrifice of praise, this gift from your most holy Church. But now we know the praises of this pillar, which glowing fire ignites for God's honour, a fire into many flames divided, yet never dimmed by sharing of its light, for it is fed by melting wax, drawn out by mother bees to build a torch so precious. O truly blessed night, when things of heaven are wed to those of earth, and divine to the human. Therefore, O Lord, we pray you that this candle, hallowed to the honour of your name, may persevere undimmed, to overcome the darkness of this night. Receive it as a pleasing fragrance, and let it mingle with the lights of heaven. May this flame be found still burning by the Morning Star: the one Morning Star who never sets, Christ your Son, who, coming back from death's domain, has shed his peaceful light on humanity, and lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

prozars, I just wanted to say "Merci mille fois" for posting this. I'm writing a novel in which the main character is a priest, and I played this video over and over as I described my character singing the Exultet at the climax of the story
Etienne Villier I am currently sending out query letters to literary agents. Hopefully in time my novel will be published--and translated into French! It's sort of an American Thorn Birds, set in early 1800s Charleston, South Carolina. My priest falls in love with a married woman (and she with him) and he has to decide what to do about it.
This is beautiful. Lovely rendition. I love what he does with it. So expressive , dramatic and yet reverent and solemnly reflective at the same time. The words lend themselves to this yet few people sing it as such. Too many sing it in a monotonous sedate fashion that to me borders on inappropriate. The words deserve to be heard ! I love the extension of the chant that he does in places too, along with subtle dynamic alterations - brings a wonderful intensity .

O vere beata nox, in qua terrenis caelestia, humanis divina iunguntur! Resp. Amen.

The hand motion(s) add to a passionate rendering of the Exultet. Very refreshing to hear Latin chanted with South American Spanish inflection. Yes, wow!

Veľmi pekne spieva a latinsky, to je úžasné .
Gracias!!!!
Simply beautiful and inspirational:Jesus Christ is truly risen and we are filled with indescribable joy -Exultet
The song is about Lucifer.
@@KainChrist but Lucifer is not as we perceive as Satan; in Latin, Lucifer means the Morning Star or Light Bearer which is referred to Christ who's resurrecting is enlighting the World and showing the path of salvation. I hope you were referring to the same, because it would be very ignorant to think it in a twisted way...
@@Tom19142 I am fully aware of that, thank you for pointing out the obvious.
@@KainChrist cause many people associate Lucifer to Satan, but is not. Also because I was thinking thst you were another silly protestant who says "Catholics worship Satan".
@@Tom19142 I am not. I am also aware that "satan" is not one entity, as that is just a word one called any enemy. This is old news to me though.
Happy Easter!
Christus resurrexit!
Most beautiful version I have heard!! And the priest sung it so expressively, with all the hand movements. It really made this all the more beautiful!!
Gracias gracias!!!!!
Most beautiful!
Our tradition is beautiful. Please bring it back.
I think the hand motions added a lot, and some of them appear, as San Ja says, to be similar to the conducting motions of Gregorian Chant. This is the most expressive and beautiful Exsultet I have ever heard, singing and hand motions included. I could listen all day. What a joy compared to some of the rushed and clipped versions sung by people who seem to just want to get it over with.
Si !!!!! No podía evitarlo .
I missing this moment at Easter eve... love from Bali ,Indonesia😍😍😍
La liturgia !!!!! Puerta del Cielo !!!! Dios bendiga tu país !!!!
Chills! Absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful voice!
¡Gracias! (RB 57, 9)
Amén !!!!!! Viva Mexico !!!!!
English text
Exult, let them exult, the hosts of heaven,
exult, let Angel ministers of God exult,
let the trumpet of salvation
sound aloud our mighty King's triumph!
Be glad, let earth be glad, as glory floods her,
ablaze with light from her eternal King,
let all corners of the earth be glad,
knowing an end to gloom and darkness.
Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice,
arrayed with the lightning of his glory,
let this holy building shake with joy,
filled with the mighty voices of the peoples.
(Therefore, dearest friends,
standing in the awesome glory of this holy light,
invoke with me, I ask you,
the mercy of God almighty,
that he, who has been pleased to number me,
though unworthy, among the Levites,
may pour into me his light unshadowed,
that I may sing this candle's perfect praises).
(Deacon: The Lord be with you.
People: And with your spirit.)
Deacon: Lift up your hearts.
People: We lift them up to the Lord.
Deacon: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People: It is right and just.
It is truly right and just,
with ardent love of mind and heart
and with devoted service of our voice,
to acclaim our God invisible, the almighty Father,
and Jesus Christ, our Lord, his Son, his Only Begotten.
Who for our sake paid Adam's debt to the eternal Father,
and, pouring out his own dear Blood,
wiped clean the record of our ancient sinfulness.
These, then, are the feasts of Passover,
in which is slain the Lamb, the one true Lamb,
whose Blood anoints the doorposts of believers.
This is the night,
when once you led our forebears, Israel's children,
from slavery in Egypt
and made them pass dry-shod through the Red Sea.
This is the night
that with a pillar of fire
banished the darkness of sin.
This is the night
that even now throughout the world,
sets Christian believers apart from worldly vices
and from the gloom of sin,
leading them to grace
and joining them to his holy ones.
This is the night
when Christ broke the prison-bars of death
and rose victorious from the underworld.
Our birth would have been no gain,
had we not been redeemed.
O wonder of your humble care for us!
O love, O charity beyond all telling,
to ransom a slave you gave away your Son!
O truly necessary sin of Adam,
destroyed completely by the Death of Christ!
O happy fault
that earned for us so great, so glorious a Redeemer!
O truly blessed night,
worthy alone to know the time and hour
when Christ rose from the underworld!
This is the night
of which it is written:
The night shall be as bright as day,
dazzling is the night for me, and full of gladness.
The sanctifying power of this night
dispels wickedness, washes faults away,
restores innocence to the fallen, and joy to mourners,
drives out hatred, fosters concord, and brings down the mighty.
On this, your night of grace, O holy Father,
accept this candle, a solemn offering,
the work of bees and of your servants' hands,
an evening sacrifice of praise,
this gift from your most holy Church.
But now we know the praises of this pillar,
which glowing fire ignites for God's honour,
a fire into many flames divided,
yet never dimmed by sharing of its light,
for it is fed by melting wax,
drawn out by mother bees
to build a torch so precious.
O truly blessed night,
when things of heaven are wed to those of earth,
and divine to the human.
Therefore, O Lord,
we pray you that this candle,
hallowed to the honour of your name,
may persevere undimmed,
to overcome the darkness of this night.
Receive it as a pleasing fragrance,
and let it mingle with the lights of heaven.
May this flame be found still burning
by the Morning Star:
the one Morning Star who never sets,
Christ your Son,
who, coming back from death's domain,
has shed his peaceful light on humanity,
and lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
Beautiful. Just simple and beautiful. Majestic.
Beautiful!
Fantastic voice and commitment

i To to ja rozumiem śpiew Exultet. Aż miło posłuchać.
prozars, I just wanted to say "Merci mille fois" for posting this. I'm writing a novel in which the main character is a priest, and I played this video over and over as I described my character singing the Exultet at the climax of the story
I am curious after your novel!
Etienne Villier
I am currently sending out query letters to literary agents. Hopefully in time my novel will be published--and translated into French! It's sort of an American Thorn Birds, set in early 1800s Charleston, South Carolina. My priest falls in love with a married woman (and she with him) and he has to decide what to do about it.
My novel is finally out: viewbook.at/NecessarySins
Que belleza !!!!!! Cuanta alegra !!!!! Soy ese sacerdote que canta !! Dios te bendiga siempre siempre

Awesome! I have never listened to amything more beautiful😮👍🏻😮👍🏻
Gracias gracias gracias
If I didn't believe in God and heared this version of Exultet, I would become a catholic.
Bellisima!!
Ohhhh gracias gracias infinitas!!! Dios te bendiga siempre
Meraviglioso.
Just beautiful.
Gracias
Gracias gracias infinitas
Que tu es beau, Seigneur❤
Amén amén amén !!!!

Exsultet iam angelica turba caelorum:
exsultent divina mysteria:
tanti luminis adornata fulgoribus:
et magnis populorum vocibus haec aula resultet.
Quapropter astantes vos, fratres carissimi,
ad tam miram huius sancti luminis claritatem,
una mecum, quaeso,
Dei omnipotentis misericordiam invocate.
Ut, qui me non meis meritis
intra Levitarum numerum dignatus est aggregare,
luminis sui claritatem infundens,
cerei huius laudem implere perficiat.
Vers. Dominus vobiscum.
Resp. Et cum spiritu tuo.
Vers. Sursum corda.
Resp. Habemus ad Dominum.
Vers. Gratias agamus Domino Deo nostro.
Resp. Dignum et iustum est.
Vere dignum et iustum est,
invisibilem Deum Patrem omnipotentem
Filiumque eius unigenitum,
Dominum nostrum Iesum Christum,
in quibus verus ille Agnus occiditur,
cuius sanguine postes fidelium consecrantur.
Haec nox est,
in qua primum patres nostros, filios Israel
eductos de Aegypto,
Mare Rubrum sicco vestigio transire fecisti.
reddit gratiae, sociat sanctitati.
Haec nox est,
in qua, destructis vinculis mortis,
Christus ab inferis victor ascendit.
Nihil enim nobis nasci profuit,
nisi redimi profuisset.
O mira circa nos tuae pietatis dignatio!
O inaestimabilis dilectio caritatis:
ut servum redimeres, Filium tradidisti!
O certe necessarium Adae peccatum,
quod Christi morte deletum est!
O felix culpa,
quae talem ac tantum meruit habere Redemptorem!
O vere beata nox,
quae sola meruit scire tempus et horam,
in qua Christus ab inferis resurrexit!
Haec nox est, de qua scriptum est:
Et nox sicut dies illuminabitur:
et nox illuminatio mea in deliciis meis.
Huius igitur sanctificatio noctis fugat scelera, culpas lavat:
et reddit innocentiam lapsis
et maestis laetitiam.
Fugat odia, concordiam parat
et curvat imperia.
In huius igitur noctis gratia, suscipe, sancte Pater,
laudis huius sacrificium vespertinum,
quod tibi in hac cerei oblatione sollemni,
per ministrorum manus
de operibus apum, sacrosancta reddit Ecclesia.
Sed iam columnae huius praeconia novimus,
quam in honorem Dei rutilans ignis accendit.
Qui, licet sit divisus in partes,
mutuati tamen luminis detrimenta non novit.
Alitur enim liquantibus ceris,
quas in substantiam pretiosae huius lampadis
apis mater eduxit.
O vere beata nox,
in qua terrenis caelestia, humanis divina iunguntur!
Oramus ergo te, Domine,
ut cereus iste in honorem tui nominis consecratus,
ad noctis huius caliginem destruendam,
indeficiens perseveret.
Et in odorem suavitatis acceptus,
supernis luminaribus misceatur.
Flammas eius lucifer matutinus inveniat:
Ille, inquam, lucifer, qui nescit occasum:
Christus Filius tuus,
Resp. Amen.
Fantastic!
Wonderful, and so powerful. A real slave to Christ. God bless him.
Gracias, tanks
