Okay… so let me get this straight. With the help of a squid, an octopus and a mantra ray, all a part of a singing group, you ride a shark into space, then, with the help of an octopus DJ and a giant salmon, use an oversized vacuum clearer to stop a bear from using a rocket to basically end all life on earth and replace it with new life.

Inklings, octarians and salmonids working together to bring down an alien threat to their world is the perfect way to end a story mode. Splatoon really just keeps going uphill.
Maybe in Splatoon 4, or even the DLC, mammalians will work with them as well
Not really alien. More like ancient animal. Like imagine T-Rex somehow returns and decided to destoy the whole humanity to bring back the dino era.

I personally see the three lights prophecy as the lights being the three groups of civilizations, because in the end everyone joins together in order to stop mr grizz
@@emperorfaiz I have an idea for the ending of splatoon 4 where one of the idol is actually a human in disguise and the enemy came out as like a giant mish mash of marine creature and while you and your team is escaping the boss explosion happened both actual and ink ones as you see both human and inkling jet working together to eliminate the threat
The fact Mr. Grizz is still floating about intact in the end credits just provides proof the DLC may expand on this idea. Plus if anything this entire story mode opened an entire can of lore opened; Sunken Scrolls providing random lore, Alterna Logs blatantly revealing the end of one species to birth another, and this entire boss fight, from the Fuzzy Ooze to how Grizzco is called the "Ursine Anomaly #3". If he's the third, where's the other two, and what even is he. Point being, this is a great time to be a Splatoon fan, especially when you're an enthusiast of the lore, AND a profreshional Salmon Run worker

Well the theory is that the other 2 anomaly's are Judd and Lil' judd
Grizz is called that because he was originally known as “Bear #03” on the Ark Polaris, a giant spaceship meant to preserve the species of Earth. “Mr. Grizz” is just an alias he used to avoid suspicion when he founded Grizzco as a front for his Fuzzy Ooze production.

Was really hoping for a reconciliation between him and cuttlefish at the end. For a trilogy-ending story mode it just kinda… ends. Kinda lackluster honestly.
He's basically there for his people if it means working together with his sworn enemies to save them he'll do it. I imagine that he's even willing to let his grudge go if it means salvation for the octarians.
I'm just happy DJ Octavio finally got his redemption arc.
Eh, kind of. Would have wanted to see him and cuttlefish have a moment together, and maybe renounce his evil ways for good. I was also hoping we’d see his Octoling form.

@@nickg5341 i dont think octavio is able to return to his octoling form, considering hes canonically in his 100s and would probably lose the ability to turn from his octoling and octopus form (manually) by then

i do like how Mr. Grizz is like, exceedingly polite in a corporate sort of way, even when telling you exactly how he's going to kill you. it's very fun and its own level of menacing.
“So basically, I’ll kill you.”
It makes him all that more intimidating, unlike some other Nintendo villains like Zant.
He's like, "You get a break, come here so I can break you!"

It hits like a truck when DJ Octavio says 'that heavenly melody', even though this isn't really a surprise. But still a pleasant thing
i know some people were disappointed with the final act, but i love how off the rails it gets.
also dj octavio swooping in to save the day with his mech and the calamari inkantation remix had me grinning like an idiot the whole time.

I am one of those who was disappointed, the whole final act just felt underwhelming :(
Don’t get me wrong I loved the campaign and playing through it, reading all the logs in anticipation for the final boss, but the final act kinda made me go “that’s it?”
While I like the idea of Mr Grizz being the main antagonist his design kinda threw me off, I was expecting more rugged bear look than what we got which is basically a plush toy, kinda makes the whole thing less serious for me even though it shouldn’t as destroying the whole world is pretty high stakes
I love the idea of Octavio helping but he just kind of jumps in last minute after not being seen anywhere throughout the story, I feel if he and cuttlefish were trapped together within those radio call cutscenes we could’ve gotten some really fun dialogue of them butting heads with one another on finding a way to escape while also giving him a more deserving redemption arc
Lastly I feel Deep Cut was put to the side tbh, they had some really fun boss fights and the cutscene we had with them in the beginning were fun but I feel this story mode should’ve put focus on them and not the squid sisters so we could get more screen time and know more about their character, basically the same way Pearl and Marina’s characters were much more developed in Octo Expansion
I’m hoping the upcoming DLC Story for this game will be better, more on the league of octo expansion or somehow even better 😭

I'm hoping the dlc puts together something like an Octobeak Platoon with Octavio & Marina and Pearl as the main supporting cast
I think the DLC will have something to do with Marina and Perla's word tour, at the end deep cut says that they would like to open the world tour of the squid sisters and (SPOILER) in the post-credits scene gramps says that this adventure was like a world tour , it can't be a coincidence right? maybe I'm just overanalyzing things, but anyways I hope deep cut and the squid sisters are in the DLC, loved them in this game!

I imagine that in the dlc marina disappears and we have the mission to find her, why? because she lost in the last splatfest, Just like Callie lost the last Splatfes and in Splatoon 2 she disappeared, you understand me right?
@@Isidora2.0 wait that actually sounds like a good idea, after their world tour marina suddenly disappears and pearl would try to find her with the help of the agents 8 and 4 , and so they have to comeback to all the places they visited, but I don't think they will do that since its very similar to the story of splatoon 2 (and I think the DLC will have something to do with the salmons)

There's also a mention of the Great Zapfish looking different after beating Hero Mode, so maybe that could factor in? Or it's just a random thing, who knows. I'm excited for the DLC either way!

This is one of the greatest and most memorable video game finales of all time, on par with the likes of SA2, Uncharted 4, and Spider-Man PS4. This is the apex of Splatoon Single-Player content. When I played Splatoon 1 all the way back in 2015, I never thought I'd see the day that the franchise would go this far. I almost teared up once I saw the thank you for playing screen. This is my favorite video game trilogy of all time!

I really REALLY did not expect Mr grizz to have such cartoonish proportions and features, I was busy thinking up how terrifying he could look, or maybe that Nintendo designed him abit like Kirby and the forgotten lands animal faces, or maybe that he'd have a mask thing around the eyes XD

I honestly think story mode is so much more fun than online multiplayer. Now I want splatoon 4 to come out simply to see more! I love the world and the lore and everything !! Can’t wait for the DLC though

What I expected: Mr. Grizz to have some degree of involvement with the 'mammalians' as they looked covered in ursine fur, and we know power eggs - which we collect for him - are used by octarians as a power supply, especially golden eggs.
What I did not expect: Apocalyptic doomsday Kaiju battle in space. AND GREAT ZAPFISH I'M OKAY WITH THIS!!!
Now we wait for the dlc and hope there isn’t a secret boss harder than inner agent 3.

It probably wouldn't have been different. Remember, Mr. Grizz was neutral in the Chaos vs Order Splatfest.
I am so glad they took a page from Octo-expansion and made a far more entertaining story than the first two games. I love the Splatoon series and have been playing since day one, but until Octo the story had always been subpar. I will absolutely buy the dlc if it focuses on Off the Hook. Until then, Booyah!

Well. I guess mister is back from where he is i guess. Working with the inkling and octoling on killing salmonoids
The bear eating a salmon statue is replaced with a salmon eating a bear statue in grizzco but grizz is still in charge
I believe it was confirmed all of Grizz' dialog in Salmon Run was prerecorded.

Tip for the last wave of enemies: use the splash down ultimate to clear the majority of them, then finish the others with your weapon.
(Not the wave with the dashing Octarians, but the one after that.)

I finished it in 3 something hrs
I liked to say and point out the ending, everyone’s more concentrated on saving the world and stuff ink vac and what not, but think about it, a salmon, fighting a bear? Bears war salmon, but small fry is a evolution of a salmon so it makes sense to have a salmon fight a bear instead of the bear eating it. Can you imagine if small fry died/got eaten, I would be so devastated
i actually dont know what the great zapfish was used for, i didnt see it mentioned in the final fight and its only appearance was that one rocket level and i didnt see mr grizz use it too.
Inklings, Octolings and Salmonoids all working together as one for the first time. When the chips are down, old enemies really become allies, don't they?

After beating mr.grizz in story mode, I’d you go into salmon run, you’ll see that the bear carving is now replaced with a giant salmon eating a tiny bear

The boss fight has similar Formular as the Octavio boss fight in Splatoon 1. you Chase him and he sends minions
I like the fact the calamari inkantation 3MIX part improved as we got the update that let you see music name at the start of a battle
The last thing I would’ve expected to do today was control Octavio immediately after Smallyfry evolved like a Pokémon.
“Oh great. Now what? Inkopolis is gone, Mr Grizz was a sham, and we’re out of a job. Nothing to do but sit back and wait for the end…”

This is epic and all, but I'm confused:
Why and how is grizco still running after the story is completed?
Is it that Mr. Grizz is still running it from space? Is he still plotting? Did one of the other two ursine anomalies take over? Or is it just disconnected from the lore?
Nintendo hinted that the statue in grizzco just says pre recorded messages. Grizzco is essentially an automated company
the Second phase gives me SA2 vibes, like at any point Live and Learn will start blasting out out of nowhere

Even though this is a good final battle, there are many things wrong here:
1. How does a rocket launch with a giant bear on the side?! It would drift right or Mr grizz would fall of because of the increasing speed of the rocket: remember, as a rocket uses up more of it's fuel, it gets lighter and faster.
2: How does agent 3 manage to jump from a shark into space!!!! To achieve that kind of speed, you would need a rocket to reach escape velocity (11km per hour).
3: How in the universe do Mr grizz, agent 3, and little buddy survive in the vacuum of space? They would pass out from asphyxiation and die in a few minutes without a space suit. Also, why does the rocket have the same gravity as earth? These guys would float in zero G! The physics in the splatoon universe Don't make sense. Also, the ink wouldn't stick to the rocket because of zero G.
4: Finally, how do dj Octavio and agent 3 make it back to earth safely without burning up in the atmosphere? Dj Octavio's Octobot would need a pretty big heat shield to survive re-entry from orbital velocity.
I feel like Nintendo could of done a better job making this final boss battle

Also, why is the rocket and the nearby asteroids not orbiting the earth? The ISS orbits about 17,500 mph around the earth to stay in orbit. Since this alterna rocket isn't orbiting, it would fall back to earth straight down and burn up in the atmosphere because of the friction of the atmosphere
If I had a nickel for everyone a splatoon boss tried to destroy the work I would have 2 nickles. It isn’t much but it’s weird it happened twice
The first phases of Mr. Grizz made me think of Miles vs Kingpin from Into the Spiderverse

I just noticed, around the 22:40 mark, you could notice that the first ink color shown there was orange and blue, then green and pink, and lastly violet and yellow, all of which were the main colors of each splatoon game 🥹
