Might be from my lack of familiarity with the program but I found the concepts of assembly difficult to grasp initially but most of what you were conveying was understood.
Thanks for the time you take to teach us the basics of c3d Is there a chance for you to do it a tutorial for a rura road.? Explaining topics such as superelevation and Widening. I notice That many videos don't explain clearly the reasons of chosing some methods OR not. It is an amazing software. Takes time to understand it fully Greetings from Bolivia
Civil3D Is a VERY complicated program with regards to learning curve. This says for beginners and it is lol It's funny how little you learn in college/university
Someone really really really needs to make a video explaining how a civil3D project should be setup so that someone in Revit can smoothly import and aquire coordinates with the survey point at a logical spot on site. I work in an architecture firm and we have constant issues with this.
it will great full if you provide data points for practice beacause there is nothing use by seeing the video we will get good understanding only by practicing
Going for an interview for an autocad drafter in civil construction. Never even seen auto cad before.. looks cool, I'm pretty techy and have put together computers.. just wondering what this job is like day after day? I'm a carpenter so everyday is different and challenging.. I've been in the field for 10 years and a guy asked me if i wanted to get off my feet for a bit. Is it challenging, boring, is the pay good, etc. Thanks!! Good vid
All of the above. Pay is better, can get repetitive but can also represent some challenges, and definitely can get boring at times. Basically an office job is an office job when it comes down to it. Company size and the projects they work on are important things to ask about in order to figure out if they fit what you're looking for.
Basically in the same boat starting Monday (I don't want to get stuck breaking my back in the field forever). A year later how did you fair? I am watching these to get a leg up on learning this software.
im used to micrstation.. can all the files be separate files like microstation..? like design , surface , profile all be separate files..?? if so is there something to show me how
Welcome to C3D.....the learning curve slope is = #8 sideways....last time I checked, the size of the basic install on your hard drive is ~12 x what basic AutoCAD is....
The points are from using a surveying tool out in the field using multiple benchmarks to fid the elevation of each part of the actual topography. It is able to be saved as a file and imported to CAD to show data points on the actual map
What he had in the beginning is a topographic surface. It shows each of the contour lines. You can also have it show elevation of each contour by go into its properties.
Welcome to CAD. You expected fireworks and fancy pizzazz???? This is CAD. This video is pretty much the CAD life. It's the people around you and the company atmosphere/compensation that make it all worthwhile. You can win big or lose big depending on those factors.
Video is very helpful if you have a basic understanding of general civil engineering concepts, terms, applications etc. If you know nothing about Civil Engineering, this video will be useless. Otherwise, this is "Beginner's Gold" and is a pretty valuable video for those who know how to use AutoCAd and also have a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of Civil Engineering but who have not yet used AutoCAD's Civil3D extension.
Excellent primer on AutoCAD Civil3D. Coming from a "regular" AutoCAD and Microstation v8i/InRoads background, this is valuable info!!! Great work!
0:00 - 03:10: GeoData (Insert Bing Map)
03:11 - 06:25: Points (Import point group, properties)
06:25 - : Surface

Like Arcmap

5:09 also make sure you use the regen command to make the drawing clearer
Thank you very much for your video. I have one question - What about Boundary of Surface - Bottom of Corridor?

Stay in the field buddy.

IT WAS A VERY HELPFUL VIDEO , THANK YOU FOR THAT BUT IT CAN BE EVEN BETTER IF YOU SLOW DOWN A LITTELE BIT.
THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN
Thats a great tutorial, can I have the survey point data?

same boat - im learning both, but this 'beginner' isnt beginer enough
Sir give me tutorials of cad rc. Please sir
correct me if I'm wrong sir but don't you mean geo-rectified not georeferenced?

he is going somewhere after this.. :)
In the 3rd minute you add in point data, where is the point data from? how do I create it?
The points are from using a surveying tool out in the field using multiple benchmarks to fid the elevation of each part of the actual topography. It is able to be saved as a file and imported to CAD to show data points on the actual map
Point take asbuilt from site
great vid !
how can i download the Full video
How do you do a toposurface like you do in REVIT? I am designing a highway and I don’t know to make it have hills and that
What he had in the beginning is a topographic surface. It shows each of the contour lines. You can also have it show elevation of each contour by go into its properties.
Train to Snoozeville, welcome aboard! Way to not make this fun.
Where's your video? This guy is trying to help. Way to be an ass!

SURVEY DATA PLS
This is called AutoCAD Civil 3D Tutorial for Beginners Complete.. The word Tutorial led me to believe this is training. The video is not helpful.

It's labeled for beginners but you state working at a company. Please don't teach.
Please don't watch. It's a great video. If you didn't get it - look in the mirror
Start with "AutoCAD basics for beginners". This is Civil3D for beginners, not intro to AutoCAD 101.
