Nice to see this game being speedrun~ I played this about 25 years ago, and I just recently found out that the game itself wasn't a figment of my imagination. It's nostalgic as hell seeing it being played, and even more so finished in such a short amount of time.
I remember watching this live at the buttcrack of everyone was asleep time, and feeling kinda bad that so few donations were rolling in. Pa-sama did a great job with such an anti-great game and really deserved more donations.
Tysm for uploading this speedrun! Such a nostalgic game. Love the music and the enemies look awesome in battle. I rented this game as a kid too and I remember getting stuck trying to find that digging guy in the wall... >.> PaSama and everyone involved in this charity run - well done! You all rock
GO HOME AND BE A FAMILY MAN, ANDY. This game is a guilty pleasure of mine and I love this run. :D Oh, and Prosperous Wiseman really just means financial advisor. That's why the gold drops suck in this game; everyone's getting financial advice from a toddler. "It gets better" Oh, I don't know. It's pretty hard to top "Garados will seal your fateful doom!"
Great run Pa-Sama and great commentary as always by High Spirits and that other dude was cool too. I remember beating this game as a young'un and had trouble with the last boss. I didn't realize until now you could just die on his last form, heal up, and go back without having to fight the earlier form!
Pa did such an amazing job with this run and the couch as well. Everything was pure synergy. Great run Pa, and I hope to meet you at an upcoming RPG LImit Break event in the next year or two. I'm hoping to start learning Azure Dreams GBA sometime in the next few months and if I can get it ready in time, I will submit it for this years Limit Break, but more than likely, it would not get accepted because of either it taking too long or being too unsafe for a marathon, or for the simple fact that I might not be ready to actually submit it this year. Hopefully, I can get it ready for possibly Questing for Glory III *wink wink* Anyways, thanks for the entertainment Pa and couch!
Speedrunner in an RPG, well we only fight bosses and beat the game greatly underleveled cause its quicker and its no big deal. Me, im greatly overleveled and still dying at bosses because im a trash human.
There are football players as a random enemy lol also i was a bit disturbed at the children disappearing in the circus.. if you talk to the townsfolk, they mention that everyone mysteriously disappeared with the circus.. poor kids..
The bread cures either.. like 80hp or all HP.. random.. worst healing item ever. This is coming from someone who beat the game. That you also need to rank(level) up two groups of heroes for the game is senseless grinding and it was even panned for that, at the time of release. I hated that aspect, too.
there's actually a few healing items in RPGs that do that, the Rusty Food Tin in Castlevania will heal you a random amount, or drop you to 1 HP, and i'm pretty sure one of the Mother games has an item that heals for a random amount.
Run Start: 8:10

this was my game back in the day
This is one of my favorite games for some reason. Great job Pa-Sama!
The twitch chat was hilarious for this run. I remember waking up to this run and this is one that I love to rewatch. Thanks pa-sama.
I remember this game from my childhood, love to see it played, thanks

Great work, Pa-sama.

Love the Fatalize song there at the end

I got a glitch where i lost all my save files and they were replaced with a save file from out of nowhere
That Gyarados guy should be renamed to Skullkraken. He's worthy of the title.
1:55:40 Wait, you mean to say this is an RPG where... Dan Lives Matter? This truly *IS* the Silly Games Block. :3
No one even watched this in the background sets lol
this is the game with the realy bad localization isnt it?
No, it's top notch. I'm certain that the villain is actually supposed to be named Homncruse.

They went from having no game sound to having the sound be WAY too loud. Good to know the audio team is as on the ball as ever...
So many Dwayne Johnsons disguising in crappy CGI...
