But I'm not going to lie, I've caught Gators with a trapper before who's a buddy of mine and he let me come help him. I probably would not have gotten that close in the water. I mean I don't think I've seen any legitimate case of an alligator grabbing someone out of a kayak or canoe like the crocodiles do but that is a big big big big ass animal. And I like to think I have some pretty big balls myself. I've worked with anacondas I've worked with reticulated pythons I've as I said caught Gators before but you got some balls my man. And again I'm not demonizing Gators I think that they are much much less of a danger to human life than people think. But once they start getting that big, I tend to stay back a few more feet just to be safe.
I work at the Springs and there's less than one attack a year on average. Number becomes minuscule if we talk about lethal attacks. They really are like bears in neighborhoods
Meanwhile crocs to gators 🐊 :- Dude seriously u are damaging our reputations!!!!!
That gator....like yeah.... c'mon and follow me back here in 2 this cut buddy.
Had it been during nesting, there would be no Kevin anymore
I've been during nesting season on the Hillsborough river... there you better hold your distance during that time
Me - y do i want to watch alligators ,
my brain - alligators are waiting
Me - yeah ur correct
Coming a Florida boy. That was very unwise. You got lucky this time. Being that close it could of snapped and considered you a threat in a second. You would of had no chance.
Larry Sigers while that is true it's very unlikely .dogs have killed more people than Gators and shark's in the us.
Jason voorhees
Well by all means continue on. Jump right in. My 50 years of watching these things live and feed mean nothing up against you Animal Planet degree. And let me fill you in on something else. Your numbers on gator and shark attacks are wrong. Total BS. This are spun to keep the southern tourists happy you know. "Like the body was disturbed by sea or aquatic life after death" Right! Paddle on brother and be safe. Don't become over confident.
Larry Sigers uh listen smart guy don't get lippy with me . I literally search this stuff up it's very rare for Gators to attack stop acting like you know everything
Larry Singer I don't watch animal planet .I actually study them work with them go into there natural habitat .I have swam with sharks and Gators both. I study on snakes and other animals.
Florida Outdoors yep
Man eating alligator to boot… lmaooo 😂 I love this song 🤗🙈
This guy was probably getting stalked as well and didn’t even know it 😂
Oh absolutely 😁 I'm sure they did
@@kevinsteve1979 what was going through your mind at this moment? I’ve never been near an alligator ever, so I genuinely want to know what it feels like. Is it scary, calming or do you do this a lot? And also how was the boat still floating with them balls of steel on board lol.
@@Joeydurken123 I'm on the rivers quite often.... first off you gotta go when there is no nesting season because the females will be very protective 😎
In this video I got a bit too close but didn't want to start paddling like crazy and causing splashes that would irritate the gator.
@@kevinsteve1979 That’s awesome man! I would’ve shat my pants 😂
Been all over that place its epic, wild monkeys and gators Bass and Beautiful county.💯🇺🇸
dude, were you by yourself? i cant imagine doing this myself. you are fucking brave and crazy , man. even if sb pay me like 20 thousand dollars, i wouldnt do this shit. I will piss on my pants when i see gators / crocs that close
They usually a bit more shy than this. But if you get too close to a nest they can EASILY flip that little kayak and devour contents. Blub blub blub...
dude thats sick
Crocodiles : am I a fucking joke to you
i flipped my kayak in this river, i was in fear of my life
You're fuxking lying you wouldn't make it back
@@yaujtapredatoravp5129 I've literally snorkled down that river, it's amazing!

@CHRIS I'm from Florida and I've never heard of people knowingly swimming in gator infested waters, so I'm going to have to call it like it is, you're a liar😐
My aunt is a Floridian, and she goes kayaking all the time. With gators.
When this man ends up on the news don't be surprised why. Getting too comfortable around Gators. There will be no condolences.
Yeph... no blame for tge gator 😎 I hope I taste good 😄
@@kevinsteve1979 haha " I hope I taste good".
mmm gatortail
I’m from Florida, Silver springs is a very clear body of water and very cold 🥶 even when temperatures are at it’s hottest, the water is extremely cold 🥶 and most gators 🐊 are not aggressive in that particular water temperature 🤒 so I am pretty sure the one kayaking knows this through research 🧐 and data ..
Someone's been feeding those gators they're not acting naturally
Neil Pirelli yes... usually they start hissing as a warning and disappear real quick.
It’s a well traveled and used area of Silver Springs, they’re probably used to humans and kayaks around
The gator knows he’s not a treat
Wouldn’t do that to a croc tho...
That was a huge croc man seems u r fed-up of ur life. Kayaking with the Gators means u r inviting them for the meal.
Nah... I'm not a big fan of gator tail nuggets 😄 and I'm probably also not the best tasting creature... poor gator could get an alcohol poisoning
This is what 2020 wants use to see: CRAZY PEOPLE. edit:do you guys think the gators edited and uploaded this
What??? I'm a gator whisperer... at least on LSD 😜
@@kevinsteve1979 🤣🤣 you should go ask
When I went there to kayak, I only saw baby gators and they were on the bank. I would have been so scared to see the adult gators that close.
imagine flipping in the water.
Gators have less aggressive tendencies than Crocs so I hear but they’re no less scary lol
2020...c'mon ppl social distancing!! lol
😅😅😅
I learned to swim in such a place and we never gave it any thought
No reason to be that close to them. Leave them alone. Ugh.
Man, that's awesome! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's my dream place to kayak and record some alligators.
Where I live you can see some big ass crocodiles but they run away from humans as soon as you aproach to them. Maybe it's because people destroyed most of their habitat.
Gator: white lives matter too bro so i'll give you a pass.
😅😅😅👍 lol
The gator be like : damn weirdo, stop following me.
Harassing our local Gators, shame on you.
So you see, they are just friendly swamp puppies.
Awesome chase him down. What was the grizzly guys name?
Crazy I've been there when I was 13 back in 05 water is super clear, people actually swim in there with gators, they had life guards, I was good on swimming lol
Swimming is now prohibited since it became a state park. But maybe one or two miles downstream it's allowed
So that's where they recorded the Cretaceous cruise in Jurassic World
Am I right in saying that gators, as well as large snakes, measure themselves to things they swim beside to see if they're large enough to try and eat them?
The water is crystal clear !!!
Wow, this seems nuts to me but is it considered to be fairly safe? Do gators not usually attack kayaks for whatever reason?
Usually it's safe to do so since gators don't see prey in human beings or a threat in kayaks. The videos where it shows that an alligator goes for a kayak was very much likely a female protecting her nest or hatchlings
What a beauty river.....!!! What is the name of this river, please???
Silver river is a must float in central FL,plenty of wildlife including the monkeys, gators do not bother boaters.
james ellis people release the monkeys?
james ellis honestly, the monkeys are more of a worry than the gators tbh between them stacking families & the Hepatitis they are known to carry!!!
I lived with the crocs for 20 years and all I can say is that they not dangerous.
Funny how most think those reptiles are true human killers 😅 then underestimate other animals like hippos, bucks, etc
All I can say is wow and fair play
I did this river in 1997 in my kayak- alligators weren't threatening but i kept my distance- wild monkeys were another story.
Yeph... those monkeys are quite entertaining too
OP: you're a brave brave soul. The comment section shittin on you, but I definitely thoroughly enjoyed your vid! Hope you keep safe 🙏
Ive went there a couple times and saw a couple gators kayaking they usually just do them and swim theres also monkeys at silver springs
Yes there are plenty of monkeys along the river. Those can be very entertaining too😅
So many alligator experts here. By golly
