And this is exactly why I bought a Cricut. I love the fancy things everyone makes, but I expressly bought my machine to make cards and t’s for my grandchildren, and searched diligently for gift bags. Finally, a bag video that addresses bags with out wasting paper doubling sides, as I wanted larger bags. I had just decided to design my own, and voila, Jennifer comes through again. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this tutorial...and it's a nice-sized gift bag, too! ❤
Going to the Holland farm market in the morning for strawberries to make freezer jam. Then it will be time for your video! Can’t wait!
Jennifer wonderful as always! I love that you go the extra mile just to offer your time to see to help so many suceed!
This was awesome. I have a boatload of cardstock that was given to me or was part of a collection that will be perfect for these bags.
I cannot wait ! I love all of your videos; I am learning so much from you, Jennifer. Thank you
Awesome! I hope I can watch it live tomorrow!

You always have such, great, practical ideas that are affordable!! Thank you!
Thank you Jennifer. I really do appreciate how you take the time out of your busy day to teach us how to make things and even give us the files we need. I just love how these bags came out and can't wait to try one.
Thank you so much! I hope to see a picture of it in my group! 😃 facebook.com/groups/cricutcraftersandmakers/
Awesome thanks I really appreciate showing us how to make these bags so many other people do thanks for sharing this with others perfect 🥰
Jennifer, you are hands down the BEST! Thank you for all of the beautiful things you create and share with all of us!
I want you to know how much I appreciate you.
One of my all time favorite things about your channel is that you always have answered my questions even when not about any specific design you offer.
I am not on social media so the help your staff provides is so appreciated !!!
Great bags and great tutorial! Perfect when you can't find what you need. I love that you use your daughter's beautiful name in your tutorials!
Awesome! Hope I can make it to watch live.
You always create the best stuff, I think I will always follow you. When I got my very first Cricut, you were the first place I went to learn how to use it and I have learned sooooo much from you. Thank you so much and God Bless!
Thankyou Jennifer I have just got the maker and so looking forward to learning with you.
Wonderful! Congratulations on your new machine! We have a free series of online classes that show you how to set up and begin creating with your machine as a new Cricut owner! Here's the link to sign up: makeracademy.com/cricutkickoff
Thank you Jennifer, you are so inspiring!! If it wasn´t for you, my cricut would be unboxed, looking foward for more
Can't wait!!
You saved me big!!! I wanted to give a small gift to a friend and I didn't have a bag for it, and didn't have time to go get one, so I cut everything last night and assembled this morning. It looks lovely! Thank you very much!
Jennifer I just finished my first bag and I am so thrilled with the end product. I did the one without the score lines and my bag did tear in the corners but I can fix it with ribbon so the bag is still useable. I think I used the wrong pressure for the weight of my cardstock but having learned that I am so excited to do more bags. I have been trying to find diy gift boxes for 15oz mugs without success but your bag was the perfect fit and I am so thankful that you are willing to share so much of your creativity in a way that I can follow with success. Again thank you and I look forward to our next project together... Happy crafting!!!
Thanks so much! I have gift boxes for mugs as well. jennifermaker.com/mug-gift-boxes/
Thank you so very much Jennifer for another amazing tutorial. I love these bags and I have been thinking of ways to personalise them even further by cutting out an imagine for add to the side of the bag that the recipient loves such as a image of a car or a Disney character. Thank you so very much for all your and your teams hard work making such amazing tutorials for us to make and enjoy xxxx
Amazing tutorial! So straightforward. These will bring my baby shower game prizes to the next level. :))
I made one! I wish I could attach the photo! Thank you for all you do!
You can post it in my group. I always look at projects in the group. facebook.com/groups/cricutcraftersandmakers/
Can you do a video showing how to make boxes with the Joy like a 4x4x4? Thank you
What a fun idea! You can suggest it here jennifermaker.com/projectrequests 😊🌻
Love the gift bags!!! The purse bag the best!!! Can you make some the money gift card that everyone is doing with the lip balm blister cover that holds the rolled up money? Like birthday graduation etc?? I tried making one but I know you can do so much better !!
I have cards with gift card holders in my library. You can request the lip balm with rolled up money. That sounds interesting. jennifermaker.com/projectrequests/
I have had mu Cricut machine for several years and have not used it. Guess I'm afraid I will do something wrong. It is a Cricut Expression. Does it work like the ones you work with? You make everything look so easy. Please don't stop with your lessons!!!!
The Expression does not use Design Space. You should use it. Give it a try.
Where to find double- sided card-stock? No longer available at Michaels or JoAnn fabrics
Thank you for this tutorial. The detailed instructions made this so easy and look amazing. I am making bags for (200) student gifts. Where can I find a design to cover (reinforce) the 4 corners around the bottom edges?
Wow! that is a lot of work and dedication! You could design an insert if you need it more secure. jennifermaker.com/diy-gift-bag/
Jennifer I need help in making a bono glitter balloon
Yr svg file for the red purse shows 4 cutouts for the handles, are they to be glued together to make longer straps?
Hi Jennifer, another great tutorial. I just learned how to make the wrapping paper bags a little while ago but only had thin paper. I’m ordering the thicker (double sided) rolls you have in your Amazon store. Question-for the bags you’re cutting with the Cricut, you say to cut the card stock but your Amazon store item says paper…am I looking at the right product? I’m trying to find a pattered item that is solid core. Is dbl sided considered solid core? Thanks! Cindy (aka gardenshopper)
Card stock is paper. I have the links to the card stock in the materials list here so you can compare. jennifermaker.com/diy-gift-bag/
I love watching your channel but can you please show us how to make packaging boxes for wine or gin glasses for example?
You can request that. jennifermaker.com/projectrequests/ I do have a wine bag tutorial. jennifermaker.com/diy-wine-gift-bags/
Where do I get the template for the red bag? I love all your projects and your my insperation.
They are #390. You can link to the library from the material list. jennifermaker.com/diy-gift-bag/
Further to my comment about not being able to change mat size to 12x12, I figured a way to cut each bag side individually by hiding one, cutting then, hide that one and cut the other. But what happened was when I went to fold the bottom corners, the score lines were different? I had an epic fail and gave up!
Sorry to hear that! I have not seen any other comments that had this issue. I will have to look into that. There are 2 SVG's for each purse. You can try the other one without the score lines.
so i am trying to make this one on the cricut but the holes dont line up i do not know what i am doing wronge
Which bag are you making? It would be helpful to see pictures. You can post in my group. They can be very helpful. facebook.com/groups/cricutcraftersandmakers/
I'm doing something wrong. I ungrouped and attached the score lines to each bag side. I see two bag sides on the screen but when I go to cut, it wants to put two on one 12x24 inch mat. When I change the mat to 12x12, it only displays one bag side and one is gone.
I tried the lovely no score gift bag... it fell apart with the cut lines ... I tried the other option with the score lines but it wanted a 24 inch mat and paper.... I'm a beginner and don't understand... I just want the score lines to use 12 x12
It should not fall apart with the optional cut lines if you use strong card stock. Here is a tutorial to change the score lines from cut to score and attach them. jennifermaker.com/cricut-scoring-tools-tips/
What am I doing wrong when I fold my gift bag it rips on the sides. I have done the no score and score. I was wondering should I not fold them? I am using 65 lb paper.
65 lb card stock will work. You can use a sturdier card stock or Kraft board.
I am trying attached the score lines, but each time the color of the bag goes away. I do not understand what I am doing wrong.
Here is a tutorial that can help. jennifermaker.com/cricut-scoring-tools-tips/
I've trying to make this the bag are not matching up the corner folds one the card same to be on the same said as each other and the holes are on different sides
Sorry I missed your video. I was busy planting on my patio and just took a. Real and got your email just now.
I so want a Cricut Maker and I watch you often but I don't have the internet. Is it possible to download your files and upload them to the Designer Space, connect to the Cricut using my phone? That is the only thing keeping me from buying a Cricut.
You can use your phone for Design Space. They will not be as many options that a computer would provide but it is an option. Check out Cricut Kickoff to see your options with a phone. makeracademy.com/cricutkickoff/
@@JenniferMaker Thank you so much. I will go to the link. I'm encouraged now. Thanks for answering back so quickly.
@@JenniferMaker I bought a Maker! I also bought your book to help me. I am in awe of the one little heart I cut out. Lol
A lot of info for beginner I have a maker but unclear if you’re using a maker or maker 3. Video good but as a beginner grandma hard to follow selecting on the specifics of size material etc on the app
This is the Maker 3 but you can use the Maker or Explore as well. All of the supplies I used is in the materials list on my blog. jennifermaker.com/diy-gift-bag/
I like the woman dress red and white we do gift baskets ideas to my name is Heather ha
Do we need to purchase a commercial license to sell these at a flea market?
You may sell any finished projects you make on your own using any of the JenniferMaker files in our free library, but we ask that you credit the project as a JenniferMaker design.
However, we do ask that you not sell our actual SVG files as those are the copyrighted work of the JenniferMaker brand.
We would love to see photos of your projects too, once you finish them. When you do send photos to us, please let us know if we have permission to use your photos to share inspiration with others.
Here's to crafting a life you love!
I’ve not been using my Cricut a while and am back watching your channel. I’m blown away at your subscriber growth!😮so glad the rest of the crafters out there see what I saw long ago, YOU are fabulous!!!!! 🥰🥰☺️👍🏻
