Hi Madeon ! I'm late to see this, but daaaymn your edm genre changed drastically ! This has a different taste than Love You Back & Good Faith Forever !
seBastiENN Newey it doesn't matter if you're rich and can buy a million more, it still really sucks to accidently kill your gear. Just ask Skrillex. lol!
+NotGalaxy I got to hang out with Madeon during the true colors tour. Coolest. Person. Ever. (And I dropped my phone while I was trying to get a pic with me and he just laughed and goes "take your time! I'm not going anywhere."
my brother always makes fun of me for doing stuff like that when I listen to or make music. he's like "why tf are you playing piano on both sides? you look like an idiot" and this video made me laugh cause Madeon does the same thing and more :P
if anybody is wondering, this is Madeon recording his triple j mix for Australia. look it up when you can, its a half hour of Madeon just mixing music.
Such an inspiration. I've been producing music since I was 13, finally got really into it (& coincidentally a launchpad and Novation SLMKII Zero, Ableton also) when I first heard about Madeon, and and remember when his pop culture video had like only a couple thousand views. He really was ahead of his time when his music first came out, and he's an amazing producer/musician that I'm constantly trying to emulate. Especially with his latest album 'Adventure' being so good, he really is helping bringing life back to music (and edm), and his artistry certainly transcends the genre. It's just kinda weird to consider someone, like Madeon, a role model, when they're younger than me. Keep up good work though Madeon, you're aweome
+ Ofcourse Porter Robinson is as good. But the thing about madeon, he started when he was 16 and his first remix was brilliant! Deadmau5 - Raise your weapon remix. I've been waiting for daft punk edm style after a long time! And madeon's live mix is phenomenal. This video is just when he's practicing.
Madeon is hot, perfect, and rediculously talented so the people saying he looks really young and geeky. Shut the hell up and quick being jealous over the internet!
The faders are a Xone K2, if anyone was wondering. It's a controller with a built in soundcard, so it's perfect for cueing and controlling Ableton Live (the program on the laptop).
I mainly use FL Studio, tried Garage Band a couple times (wasn't liking it as much), and am creating a collage with someone I know on Ableton... I'm still very new to Ableton. And even more new to connceting faders and all that. How do you use the faders and all? I mean is it like use a mike or keyboard, while pressing buttons and turning nobs you click "rec"? or is it more complicated?
I've always loved this mix, been listening to the audio of it for so long. Awesome to see the vision to go with ut. That is one passionate and talented kid right there!
The computer has the music as well as the software that works with the launchpads (called Abelton). Madeon has the songs cued in Abelton with various markers as to where he wants to cue them. The Launch Pads act as the controllers with effects and samples. The thing in between the computer and one Launch Pad is the mixer.
I'm happy to realize that geeks can be stars now. A few years ago, majors of industry would have take of the benefits of his talent and make the money, giving him back 10%. Geeks are creatives, we should stop showing only the badass or stereotypes. It's funny, if you watch carrefully his moves, sometimes he reminds me a lot Michael Jacksons. And as skinny, btw... Madeon, keep up the good work, I'm listening your tracks while working :)
He is cueing the tracks with both the Launchpad + Xone. The Xone puts out Midi, which is controlling EQ, Ch1+Ch2 Volumes (aka the mixer), as well as Ableton's session position. I ran a very similar set up when I opened for Ferry Corsten in Detroit.
Alex Boksovic Start being a little bit more fucking observant. I said "he isn't making anything" not that it's easy. I wouldn't know how or what he is doing but he still isn't making anything. He is playing either his or other's songs. Seriously why the fuck did you twist what I said just to have a pointless argument?
***** Then why would he say "making music with style" on a video where Madeon is clearly just playing a mix of tracks. "He creates original songs fyi" OH ERM GEE I HAZ NO IDEA I obviously know that he is a musician... so am I. My point is that Madeon isn't making any music in this particular video.
Look at the screen at about 2:10 . The track on the right gets cleared (whether he's clearing out the clips or deleting the whole track idk), and new clips are loaded in, like loading and unloading decks. He might be using Bome's or something mapped to scroll through a different .als and loading in those tracks. In the same scene, you see him working one of the knobs to control reverb send. He might have EQ mapped somewhere, but definitely a LP and HP cause those are clearly heard.
Songs in this video [UPDATED]: 1. NERVO & Hook N Sling - Reason (Sick Individuals Remix) 2. Porter Robinson & Mat Zo - Easy 3. Mikkas & Amba Shepherd - Finally (Botnek Remix) 4. His Majesty Andre - Hymn 5. Deadmau5 - Raise Your Weapon (Madeon Remix) 6. Lemaitre - Sceptics 7. Madeon - Finale (Netsky Remix) Credits go to DanielxSmith69, Music HAZ3N, 2KSpectre, Awiesi, TheOfficialKiro and ithinkmynameismoose.
k11yle LOL The problem is getting to know where the music ends and the remix start. Madeon did a great job blending everything in this part. BTW, everybody knows the full set is this one, right? soundcloud.com/madeon/madeon-live-triple-j-mix

New Armani Exchange A|X Mens Slim/Muscle Fit Cotton PVC Moto Jacket. Put that in google and then go to images you will see it there. I hope that helped xD
Neee help please , it's better to mix as Madeon with his controler and launchpad on Ableton or to mix with Pioneer Wego with on Serato (or Traitor, Virtual Dj ... ) ? Please answer guys :(
I personally think that DJ software like Traktor is best if you want to mix in a more traditional sense and there is a hell of a lot you can do with this type of software when it comes to improvisation and making impromptu mashups. Ableton is probably best if you want to do more of a live production, especially if you are using your own tracks and you have access to all the stems. The main think which makes me prefer software like Traktor is that once you have your tracks, you don't need to do any special arranging in the software before gigs. In ableton you have to set up your project file with the tracks you want to use and set it up so you know how to access all of them. With Traktor, you can just start playing and wing it without any pre planning.
Madeon's setup is way more complicated than simple basic DJ mixers... I know it for a fact : I use the exact same setup (two Launchpads and a Xone:K2 with Ableton)... And to figure how it works, how he plays, how you could do the same, maaaan... You're better off that. x)

***** Same here, I've even use a midi translator to map the two rotary encoders at the bottom to keyboard arrows so that I can scroll through songs in the browser and load them into a channel. Basically so I can do everything off the K2 and launchpads so I don't have to touch the mouse and keyboard. It took days to get working though.
the first one is: Nervo & Hook N Sling - Reason (Sick Individuals Remix) the third one is: Mikkas & Amba Shepherd - Finally (Botnek Remix) number 6: Lemaître - Sceptics (Club Mix) this one is being released today i believe :)
Nah, if you look closely to the screen, he's loading in tracks with clips with the Xone, much like one would do with a controller in Traktor or Serato. I kind of doubt that any of the knobs are mapped to EQs either. I've only ever heard reverb, low and high passes, and Beat Repeat in his live sets (as far as effects go)
It's a wonderful Live Edit they sent me of Sceptics. I added some extra drums on top too.
te amo
Hi Madeon ! I'm late to see this, but daaaymn your edm genre changed drastically ! This has a different taste than Love You Back & Good Faith Forever !

i wish i could look as amazing drinking from a water bottle. i look like a drowning horse, and hes like a....... MADEON!!!!!

Madeon on the Triple J offices, unbelievable, and he has an amazing jacket.
He is a talented DJ
never heard a cue so perfectly timed in the first two song
Madeon is young!

making music with style holly i give him a 100000000000000/10
He isnt making anything ...
Are you serious?
Leonard Daniels okay. You upload a video with you doing the same thing if its that easy.
Alex Boksovic Start being a little bit more fucking observant. I said "he isn't making anything" not that it's easy. I wouldn't know how or what he is doing but he still isn't making anything. He is playing either his or other's songs.

"He creates original songs fyi"
OH ERM GEE I HAZ NO IDEA
I obviously know that he is a musician... so am I. My point is that Madeon isn't making any music in this particular video.
I love how he really gets into the music, madeon is amazing
I HEAR PORTER ROBINSON
same
+αραяηα тнε ℓεαғℓεss gυяℓ he and porter have been really good friends from a young age. They mix a lot of each others music once in a while
Mexican Lion yeah i know lol

Don't forget Mat Zo!🔥
Hey what about Madeon x Porter Robinson IT WOULD BE SOOO EPIC

i want that jacket
This is the 10th time that I watch this video but the first time that I notice it was uploaded on NinaLasVegas' UA-cam channel all this time...
please for the love of everything that is good - put a damn cap on that water bottle.
love how he mixes easy and reason
Serious Question, Why does he look like a 10 year old?
He just dosent look so old.
Same thought as you. He's 20 but look more like 13. Haha
I agree, the kid looks like hes like 15, plus I'm tiny for my age XD
because he's a geek who's spent most of his time learning music in the darkness of his bedroom, instead of doing sport :)
Probably the hair.
Songs in this video [UPDATED]:
1. NERVO & Hook N Sling - Reason (Sick Individuals Remix)
2. Porter Robinson & Mat Zo - Easy

at 5:00, that's my fav song finale by madeon right? xDD
kinda... Its Finale... then Finale (Netsky Remix)... then Finale again...
if its ur fav song you should know.... js
k11yle LOL
The problem is getting to know where the music ends and the remix start. Madeon did a great job blending everything in this part.
BTW, everybody knows the full set is this one, right? soundcloud.com/madeon/madeon-live-triple-j-mix
Artur Rodrigues he wasnt layering shit so it really isnt that hard
The artist is Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (aka TEED). The song is called "Household Goods".
WHAT IS THAT JACKET?! It's awesome!
its a generic leather bomber jacket
an armani bomber jacket
lol my version of it that looks the exact same is like $45
its a xone k2 - which acts for his knobs faders, but also importantly, it acts as a soundcard, so all of what is up there is powerful enough from his end to play his live show
lol madeon was careful with that water bottle
I really hope he knows he is making the most beautiful music i've ever heard. So much talent in one person.
Madeon >>>> Martin Garrix.
Gonzalo Cuadro They should not even be compared, Madeon is a musical genius.
***** whats the problem?
***** what do you mean?
Zir Tobbz I think hes agreeing with you?
Wtfff men it's a joke?
The best thing to come from France since the french kiss.
This talent is something trully rare, and i hope he goes far.
lol his dancing is hillarious
genius! I just love his music!
Does anyone know the brand of his jacket ?
New Armani Exchange A|X Mens Slim/Muscle Fit Cotton PVC Moto Jacket. Put that in google and then go to images you will see it there. I hope that helped xD
thxxxxx :)
the beginning of the track sounds so good
Neee help please , it's better to mix as Madeon with his controler and launchpad on Ableton or to mix with Pioneer Wego with on Serato (or Traitor, Virtual Dj ...
You're better off that. x)
Here is the best thing…… a comprimise… traktor uses awesome remix decks which can allow you to basically do the same thing madeon is doing with his launchpads. So buy a small controller like a pioneer wego then buy an additional novation launchpad. Then download the launchpad mapping from dj tech tools website. It will allow you to do awesome mashups while still using an easy traditional dj setup. THe best of both worlds
Depends how you want to mix? Decks will sync and play songs. Midi controllers can be used however you want.
***** Same here, I've even use a midi translator to map the two rotary encoders at the bottom to keyboard arrows so that I can scroll through songs in the browser and load them into a channel. Basically so I can do everything off the K2 and launchpads so I don't have to touch the mouse and keyboard. It took days to get working though.
that jacket is just fresh! his style is amazing
cual es la primera cancion o_o ? 0:06
Darude - Sandstorm
I'm glad I'm not the only one who mixes like this..
Instead of wasting your time asking people for songs. Download the fucking Shazam application on your phone and get it yourself x_x
Hey thats what comments are for, whats wrong with asking people stuff?
Hakan Noel I only have a problem with it when all it needs is 1 fucking Google search or something.
Yea? Are you gonna google fuckin dun dun dun dun dun song
Like OP said.. fucking Shazam it -_-
Anthony(y) We are social creatures you know ._.
OMFG!! I loved that Finale remix!
At 0:50 I'm pretty sure he came
he is pretty much the only guy that can top his own songs with his own remixes. its iNSANE
He looks like 14-15 years old
the first one is: Nervo & Hook N Sling - Reason (Sick Individuals Remix)
the third one is: Mikkas & Amba Shepherd - Finally (Botnek Remix)
number 6: Lemaître - Sceptics (Club Mix) this one is being released today i believe :)
Probably vodka.
In the cup.
TO everyone who wants to know what these songs are called, they're somewhere in his Triple J Mix on Soundcloud.
is he future deadmau5
shane holdenbottle he’s future MADEON
Nah, if you look closely to the screen, he's loading in tracks with clips with the Xone, much like one would do with a controller in Traktor or Serato. I kind of doubt that any of the knobs are mapped to EQs either. I've only ever heard reverb, low and high passes, and Beat Repeat in his live sets (as far as effects go)
Haha he's so enthusiastic, and happy, I love it :) you can TELL he LOVES what he does :)
besides the fact that his original content is absolutely amazing
I still can't get over that this kid is 19. He's absolutely killin it right now.
Boy you got mad skills, and awesome music. Thumbs up here!
he's not cocky at all. I've seen some of his interviews and he seems a really well educated and talented guy.
Woah! He is just a boy! ASTONISHING!!!
He is just so simply perfect!
I think Madeon is adorable and his songs are very fun to choreo to
Yo Madeon! You inspire me dude to make music, amazing!
I've been a madeon fan for a while, but he sampled "Bernadette", by the Four Tops. One of my all time favourite songs. Squeeeeeeee!
Novation LaunchPad, The predecessor to the new LaunchPad S. It is a MIDI controller that was made for suites like Ableton and FL.
When I realized that was an Easy remix I fanboyed so hard
me to bro me to... we need more freakin creative djs like this one!!!
love that he used Easy in his mix.
