So strange to hear her referred to as Stephanie. I wonder if she is called Stephanie only by her acting colleagues or is she called that by everybody (ie., colleagues from her singing career)?
@@clambloom4539 Saying something and believing it doesn't mean it's true, especially these days. There's more to that beautiful soul than meets the eye. A lot of people made negative comments about her, but I truly saw something I really love about her and I can't wait to see her performance in Joker 2. She's a total artist, a talented musician and a very good actress, but there's a lot more than Gaga.
@@veroniqueverstichelen7371 I understand her need to create the persona after her childhood trauma. She took the name after Queen's Radio Gaga, but I wonder if she knew what they meant by Gaga. It comes from the french word caca which means poop. That's probably why Joaquin prefers to call her Stephanie and not Lady Gaga.
Joaquin is an A-list actor who has been in the industry for a very long time, whereas Lady Gaga is just joining the acting scene. not to mention Joaquin is the main character and leading role in the movie.
To me "Joker: Folie a deux" is brilliant for how it takes Arthur Fleck's story as told in "Joker" to its logical conclusion. It also is a visceral, at times surreal, anti-escapist trip into Arthur's psyche as well as into Gotham City's heart of darkness before any supervillains or superheroes are even around. And it is all of that done with cinematic panache and in grand style. Was this sequel really "needed"? Right after watching "Joker", I adamantly would have answered that question with a capitalized "NO!". But then, adding the character of Lee Quinzel, with an interesting inversion of the power structure we are used to seeing between Harley Quinn and The Joker, also adding a deeper exploration of Arthur's desperate need for love and for being seen and accepted, and yet again putting more of a focus on how Gotham's tense societal atmosphere comes close to a boiling point, also putting more of a focus on stylistic choices that led me further down the rabbit hole of Arthur's delusion, of his desperate coping mechanisms, his misreadings of people's ulterior motivations and intentions even if barely hidden behind a threadbare facade, "Folie a deux" made me empathize even more with its protagonist than "Joker" had done. "Joker: Folie a deux" not only took a deep dive into Arthur's deranged mind, it furthermore did it from the inside looking out, almost throughout the movie's entire runtime. It allowed me to truly understand how Arthur Fleck ticks. While also depicting the careless cruelty and collective madness of Gotham's inhabitants - or if you want to look at it from a more metaphysical point of view: depicting a haunting spiritus loci poisoning the inhabitants' minds - the atmosphere of this movie, between magic realism and surrealism, took me on a trip just as fantastic and fascinating as the comic book "Arkham Asylum: A Serious Place on Serious Earth". That's way more than I had hoped for from an allegedly "unwarranted" sequel. Even with little screen given to Lee Quinzel, her scenes were enough to explain and support Arthur Fleck's character arc, and Lady Gaga portrayed Quinzel with such emotional depth and with such manipulative cunning that it makes me wish for yet another sequel, one mainly dealing with this character's future development- at least if such a portrayal is psychologically as consistent with "Folie a deux" as Arthur Fleck's portrayal in "Folie a deux" is with what "Joker" established before. "Joker: Folie a deux" is a movie about what psychological projection, co-dependency, an atmosphere of violence and an addiction to spectacle, narcissistic egocentrism and narcissistic violation can do to not only a person - but also to society at large. At heart, "Joker: Follie a Deux" is a movie about solipsism as the breeding ground of evil.
Yeah she does that every now and then. And he does look amazing gray. More should dare be natural as they age. The girl from one tree hill and Keanu Reeves gf also go gray and don't hide it. I love seeing it
18:22 oh shit this just spoiled the movie for me. It’s so obvious what he’s implying. If you haven’t seen the film yet please don’t watch this interview. Man I’m devastated
I learned the hard way not to read any articles or look at Google or even fkng talk about a movie I want to see because it is different than the old days. EVERYONE wants to know what happened before they watch the movie. Wtf? I hate it. I don't even watch previews because I can piece together the whole movie from that.
Oh definitely watch it but consider it a lovestory. And some lovestories end badly. Mine did for example. I can never b w the one I love we r both too dysfunctional among other issues. So come at it from such an angle and it's painfully beautiful and accurate.
I loved it so much. Shed a crazy tear almost immediately at the start 😂 it's a lovestory w dysfunctional people. And dysfunctional people don't always get what they want. That's how the world works. The end hit me in the gut so hard. But it did tie this film in firmly w the ones we know even w suicide squad.

What she meant is that, even tho it has elements from musicals, it's not the same since it's only the 2 protagonists who communicate and express what they feel or go through music, as opposed to a musical, in which every character is involved in the numbers, choreography, and basically the whole plot of the film is embedded in the music, and I don't think this is the case for this movie, since the music will be used as support only for the 2 main characters.
He meant it as a compliment as its extremely hard to embody a role where you a have to look a certain way (Example, Juaquin in the first Joker where he lost 50 pounds of weight for his role) and especially where Gaga has to be fit in general as a singer for concerts and stuff its a big difference... Also Juaquin is a genuine sweetheart I dont think he would ever mean it as an insult, I think he was just proud of her becoming more of a method actress for the role of Harley Quinn.
"I called Todd cause I thought there was something there, and... there wasn't. Thank you."
GAGA LOOKS SO GOOD. MOTHHHER
I wish she had this look for the movie, with bleached brows
thank you for this
GREAT CONVERSATION!! LOVE IS LOVE ALWAYS
This film deserves more praise for its audaciousness!
Love her acting ❤
So strange to hear her referred to as Stephanie. I wonder if she is called Stephanie only by her acting colleagues or is she called that by everybody (ie., colleagues from her singing career)?
Why is it strange? Lady Gaga is a singer and she wants to be taken seriously as an actress. Stefani is different than Gaga
Stephani is love and personal bond. After seeing j2 and loving it. I am enjoying their interviews as an extention of the gutsy project they gifted us.
I don't really like the Lady Gaga personna, but I truly love Stephanie. I see something in her that is amazing and beautiful.
that’s a weird thing to say… lady gaga is what allows her to create art that she does
Lady Gaga is Stefani, and Stefani is Lady Gaga, she herself said this 100x before.

I wonder if there is going to be “premiers” of this thing
Very Cool !!!, Didn't know Lady Gaga is playing Harley Quinn.
So I guess press conferences are the new thing. I’m not mad at it
They always do these for films
Why they didn’t ask a lot of questions for lady gaga?
because she is not quite the "main" character as Joaquin is.
Yeah my mother deserves WAY MORE recognition

Gaga clearly felt uncomfortable when Phoenix said she lost a lot of weight in a month. Why is Phoenix such an oddball? Is he on drugs ? …
Joaquin is an introvert. He always looks nervous in public setting
He may be neurodivergent and so in the moment had a mishap being completely honest and open.
Beret is on wrong
It's a hat.
Not ozempic. 😂
WOKE poop ending
Not at all. It tied the film in w all the batman films we know even w suicide squad. Yeah at first it was shocking I have to concur.
