I feel for you.. my gally teamed with another gally..we had to fight against a Skull gally, Krakon, a Skull sloop and three Brigs.. we tried to leg it with the Athena.. a brig chased us, caught up, board, killed my alliance member holding the Athena and manage to get back to his Brig with it and sailed away.. we heard what happened.. 😲.. OmG.. wait a minute.. 😠 why didnt you hide downstairs or in the crows nest.. why hide in the captain quaters.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me and a friend hid 40-50k worth of loot since he wanted to maximize the different emissaries and thought we would try it out. Suffice it to say we got a server merge and it was all gone. GG Rare, making a pirate game and you can't even stash your loot
Had this happen to me once when we finally got a FOTD key from a galleon that was running away. The server merged, the key was worthless unless we started it.
Server merges are weird man. I know a couple glitches about it too. But it has saved me countless times from reapers 5 emissaries (no joke) and other times it has scared me. However, the emissary flag you are flying at the moment will dupe if you sink/scuttle when servers merge. I just wonder the looks on the people’s faces when they saw our ship wasn’t in the server anymore. 😂

I was with a group doing Athena Thieves Haven runs and we stacked for a few hours on the island. On the way back to pickup the loot and call it a night we got Kraken like a map square away from the island so everyone took the mermaid to help out and once Kraken was over and we started heading to get the loot server merged on us...... Lost a bunch of loot like this months ago. Left a suggestion on the Insider Forum that they have a countdown appear on screen like 5 minutes before you're merged to another server.
What does he mean at 10:12 when he says to check the emissary tables to see if anythings changed? does the table change to show how many emissary ships are in the game?
Had this same shit happen, but instead it was at the end of 4 athena runs stacked. Had a ship moving by, my buddy and I left the loot on thieves after speed running (leaving one person there, and the boat sails to the other riddles). Then we saw this ship, were being cautious if they were potentially tucking, so went after them. When we got there, we sank them, they left, server merges. All that stuff is gone. Was so bummed I made a post on their forums for potentially changing the way merging works to a timer system (when server is set to merge, a timer is put on the screen and you know how long you have till the merge). Least then this won't happen, as you will know enough to not leave your loot or something.

This week i turned grade 5 reapers and i was with a fort loot stolen, when i was in parking in hideout i just got server merged and at the same time the game kicked me out. The worst part is that couldn't come back to the server (i was solo sloop). I got so mad i could not play this game anymore that day
I had joined a server greasy on a galleon waiting for some people because we were gonna do reapers. I had one person in so far but we found a rowboat at the outpost, I start offloading the stuff from the rowboat and a server merge happened, next thing I know the ship is upside down and the ladder to the crows nest is in the ground, so like any curious person would I explored. Not gonna say what I saw because it’s a lot to explain (and Rare didn’t intend for people to be down there). It was weird though

Anyways they finished up and moved the Athena close to the ship while they move all the other loot to a harpoon location.. While they were doing that i jumped off their ship onto the dock where the Athena was, picked it up and jumped onto a rock where i was met with black screen that sent me all they way to Smugglers Bay. On my way back i got server merged and EVERYTHING WAS GONE WHEN I GOT BACK!!! I WAS SOOOOOOOOOO MAD

Server merge costed me a whole fort loot haul once, when I tried to leave with the few skulls from the captains my boat randomly just de-spawned, so I got nothing
hey i got a question. my crew was in the middle of a fight with another 5 reapers as soon as they sunk us before we could go back we got server merged? how does that happen i thought you could only get merged if you were the only ones on the server? it pretty much gave them our loot without a chance for us to go attack them again. it was so perfect it was almost as they caused it

Yeah... Rare needs to fix this bug. Essentially, if haven’t “acquired” the loot (a.k.a. Have it on your ship), it gets removed on server switch, which is random.
