Getting a cat/kitten spayed can be such a stressful situation, and I know this video will reassure some lost souls when their kitten goes through the procedure. You're such a great cat mom and these videos are always like therapy to me. 💞
*Some things in case anyone stumbles upon this comment:*
⚪ *Plastic Cone Alternatives:* Most kitties tend to be more themselves when they have something around their neck rather than their full body, especially if they don't have experiences with things like harness training, sweaters, etc. I'd suggest getting 2 soft donut cones that are wide enough that your cat can't reach their incision. I used a flower shaped one by the brand HiDream (with a peach logo on it), and it was a life saver. Always measure your cat's neck!
⚪ *Mouth Ulcers:* Most common cause of mouth ulcers in cats is just lack of dental hygiene. Kitties need their teeth brushed at least 3 times per week with a cat safe toothpaste, but this can take lots of time to get the cat used to. "Cat School Clicker Training" have great videos on training your cat to get their teeth brushed. The cause could've been absolutely anything, though.
⚪ *Keeping Cone On:* It's recommended to keep the cone on until the cat get their stitches taken off or during the estimated time the stitches absorb into their body (depending on if the cat has external/internal stitches). This usually takes around 2 weeks for most cats, but always ask your vet. Better to be safe than sorry.
⚪ *Bumps/Lump:* Thankfully this didn't happen to Bella, but a lot of cats may get a firm, non-painful lump around their incision if they're overly active. Always address the lump to your vet if it does show up, to make sure it's not harmful.

They can in a garden or on a lead if they enjoy it since Ragdolls are strictly indoor cats ☺️💕

*If you haven't spayed yet:*
⚪ The price for spay/sterilization should be similar just about everywhere, at least for cats. Always ask different vets near your area in order to compare prices.
⚪ Ask if they included bloodwork (CBC, Chemistry) in their price. If not, ask approximately how much it'd cost. Bloodwork helps the vet to know if the kitty will safely undergo surgery.
⚪ Spaying/sterilization is a very low risk surgery, and eliminates the risk of a LOT of negative things that could come from not spaying (eg. roaming, ovarian cancer, pyometra, etc).
⚪ It's always important to prep beforehand by preparing an area that they can't climb a lot in but they're used to and would be happy in for 1-2 weeks, as well as purchasing 2 soft donut cones or 2 cat onesies that fits your cat's measurements.
⚪ Some vets may also give you some pain medication or antibiotics to prevent infections during recovery, which makes everything a lot easier. If vets give your kitty meds, request if you're able to get the liquid form and ask if you're able to put it in their food. If you have experiences pilling your kitty (eg. with pill pockets treats), feel free to ask for that instead.

Ciao, hai una ragazza ragdoll molto bella, sei molto fortunata. Ti consiglio solo di togliere il collarino perché :
1- rovina il pelo e lo spezza
2-potrebbe impigliarsi da qualche parte e mettere in serio pericolo la gattina se non farla morire strozzandola( ormai è risaputo che i collarini sono pericolosi)
3- il sonaglio innervosisce il gatto e le rovina L udito.
Mi sorprende leggere commenti del gatto carino ma non leggere che il collare può essere pericoloso.
Ma io sono una allevatrice di Ragdoll e per la mia etica professionale ho preferito dirtelo. Addirittura nel contratto di cessione dei miei gatti lo metto vietato sia collari che sonagli altrimenti mi riprendo il gatto. Ne va della sua salute.

The collar is not dangerous. The collar has a easy release clip so it will unclip if caught. Bella is an adult now and has been wearing a collar since she was a kitten before i even brought her. I personally want her to wear one. Bella seems fine with it on she allows me to take it off and put it back on every morning without struggle when I brush her.
