Here's a translation if someone still wants it... Interviewer: We moved on from politics to music. Lauri Ylönen how much do you think about politics? For example now that we have an election coming do you think about who you're gonna vote for? Lauri: Of course I do. I was just at a party of a good friend of mine Pekka Haavisto (politician) and there were a lot of interesting people there. I: How important do you think it is that artists are active on these kinds of things? L: Well it's a good chance to make a statement. I haven't really mentioned politics in my songs but on this solo album I have a few bit heavier subjects and actually this song "heavy" is about freedom of speech which is a big thing. It can be related to relationships as well but that was the original idea. I was in Singapore at my friends place and I met a cab driver who praised the great situation that because I'm finnish I'm allowed to say what I want in public,it's so obvious to us that it goes unnoticed. I: I was wondering like you said that maybe we don't appreciate it enough here that we are allowed to criticize those in lead of this country ministers, president etc. openly and you don't get into trouble for it. L: Exactly! I could probably find 10 things like that in a minute if I would start thinking... that actually things are quite good here.. but it was an amazing moment, I don't think I would have done lyrics like that if I didn't have that one little personal experience. I:Hopefully you'll meet this driver someday again so you can tell him. L: I hope he hears the song, maybe they don't play it in Singapore. I: You never know maybe someday... The Rasmus fans are a little bit worried based at least on the questions that we have received that does this mean something that you've now done a solo album, is there a the rasmus anymore? L: The band will keep going. If you like about my stuff you should be twice as happy because I will release a lot more material now. I am in a great situation now that I've done this solo album and probably will do more in the future as well, it maybe more in impulse when ever I feel like it and get a little bit more artistic point of view on it. The rasmus has changed during these 17 years to become what it now is, let's let it live it's own life. I maybe tried a bit to change the style of the band but it really didn't work out. I: How did the other guys in the band take it when you told them you want to do a solo album? L: quite well, I was probably more nervous to tell them about this. But we have good plans that when the guys come home in july we start working on new rasmus album. I: Do you have a deadline? L: No.. We first make the songs and we'll see. I: You have been with the same band for 17 years is it possible that you start to annoy each other or start arguing? L: I think it's like that there are many different kind of relationships. I don't think that would suit our band to break up with a text or an email (she gave an example of this finnish band who broke up via email). We are quite close after all. I think we would rather sit down and have a talk.
