beautiful ideas, skills and wisdom shared in this great video. I appreciate the visual of the garden and outer areas. Thanks for the joy of the homestead, area and the peeps.
Just getting around to watching this video as my Internet went down so couldn't go online and watch y'all. You're mom rocks, you boys don't fall far from the branches or her tree. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. She talks about what the cabbage smells like , lol, collards smell the same way after they are cooked. Thanks for sharing another wonderful video.
Glad your internet is back up! Yea you can see why we have character in us. Her house always smells like some kind of food processing lol iv never actually had collard greens but I hear people talk of them. Is there a plant? We need one in the garden haha
@@JeremyDoesThings we buy them in small packs in the fall and plant them directly in the container garden we have , but you can buy the seeds and plant them, we always get the Morris Heading, they are a cabbage / collard green. Very delicious. If I had your address I'd gladly share seeds. Most seed catalogs sale them. My Grandmother's house was always smelly , I loved it though so didn't bother me. We were always canning and making pies. All those grapes would make a great tasting Grape Hull pie. , or homemade grape juice.
Your mom is awesome, I had an uncle just like her my dad thought he would do him a favor and mow his yard and he got soo pissed at him for doing it because he would eat it LOL ! Amazing garden.
Hi JDT and Family. Can you imagine if we all lived like your Mom. Not only would we be very healthy, but have no need for these over priced grocery stores. Your Mom is very special, and is a hard working woman indeed. What a wonderful homestead and those huge rocks are so amazing to have on the property, wow! I have that Kiwi in my garden. It flowers but has never gotten fruit. I've had it for over 10 years so I guess 5 more years before I get fruit. Thank you so much for that information and the tour All The Best
Ok you’re the best! Here is why. Because you’re right, if everybody lived the way, my mom lives the world would be old-fashioned again. Mixed with new technology still which would be fun. That’s so cool to know that you have one of these kiwi trees. Out of all the food on our property it’s now one of my favourites as well. It’s just such a tropical taste that you can’t get out of any of our regular fruits. Life is good and the cold season is on the way. I’m sure you guys are already getting snow out there. I forget what part of Alberta said you live in, but I lived in Calgary for eight months and there was snow on the ground the whole time. I had a lot of fun there, but it was cold. And ended up missing island and coming home..
@@JeremyDoesThings I'm from Fort McMurray and yes we have snow and I've had my wood stove going since August. Your Mom is an inspiration and she makes me want to live a better more simple, healthy life. She leads by example. and does so with class and grace. You all are very fortunate to have a wonderful Mom like her. Have a good day
It drives my wife crazy, I only use the light in the kitchen . I'll be looking for something, why don't you turn on the light... I don't need no light, it's on in the kitchen. never seen any micro kiwi before. that is an amazing garden for sure. Can't imagine hwo much work that is.
Hahah man i can imagine it. We had solar power and candles so it was dark all the time. I would go to a friends house and it was all lit up and it felt like the city every tho they lived on the island aswell. So you got a wife and a house but just have your hangout shack on the beach I take it? That’s cool. One day I’m coming to visit
@@JeremyDoesThings Doing the apartment thing now, Got rid of the house 10 years ago after kid left. between utilities taxes and upkeep an apartment is a hell of a lot cheaper.
@@AlaskanInsights oh yea for sure! So cheap in hydro compared to a house aswell. That’s why you got you oceanfront escape :) either way I’m coming for a beer one day. Might have to ride a cruise ship there but we’re coming buddy. Enjoying a fat tug ipa at the moment and dedicating it to you and yours 🍺🥨😎
Beautiful garden, beautiful lady, beautiful family!

I love frozen grapes. If you let them thaw a lil bit its almost slushy like a slurpee.
