As someone from Ontario, Canada seeing Peniel's reaction to milk bags IS HILARIOUUSS (I've gotten so accustomed to it that I never thought of it to be out of place or bizarre)
Peniel’s reaction and facial expressions are hilarious! 😂😂 The laughter in the background! 😂😂 I have heard of milk bags. We don’t have them here but very interesting!
as an indian person, this is so normal for me because we get milk bags as well. we just buy them, cut the bag and pour the milk in a container, boil it and then refrigerate it so that its good to use. its funny to see how people are so used to using cartons because ive grown up with milk bags as well aaa
In india, we don't have jugs though, and the milk pouch is so strong, it doesn't rupture when milkman throws it to balconies from roadside We have amul parlors in everywhere, where we can get cartons too. But only milk bags is delivered to homes every morning
Ok to clear the confusion, the milk bags are usually bought by families... It's a 4L family-pack OPTION... And yes, we do have 1L & 2L cartons also 😂 It's just most families with kids consume a lot of milk in 1 week, so they buy the 4L bags, because it comes in 3 individual bags inside the big bag, to help keep the milk fresh longer... So the entire 4L doesn't get opened at once, like you would with a carton. It's also a lot cheaper to buy the 4L vs the individual cartons.. As an example in my city, the 4L bag is around $5, where the 1L is around $3 and 2L is around $4
Yesss also adding on to this (bc some people don't know what it's for and Ashley was just like "why??" lolol): the milk bag holder is a reusable container that you switch the milk bag out of when you finish it. It makes it easier to pour the milk out of the bag. Also you won't drink the entire milk bag at once so you need to store it back in your fridge but since the corner of the bag is cut open, you can't reseal it so you leave it in the reusable container and put it back in the fridge that way; the container holds the milk bag up in the fridge (bc if you put the open bag in the fridge on its own, its gonna spill ofc :')).
Milk bag is a thing here. 📍Ontario 🇨🇦 Milk paper cartons are hard to open here. If buying a carton, I need the kind that has a cap to open on the slanted side. We sell milk in bottles and cartons, too. But the milk bags are more family-friendly. The 3 bags are 4L. You can pick your pitcher colour. Mine is blue. 😂
My country sells milk in bags too and I never thought it was weird until Kevin made fun of it and Peniel was hella confused lol It indeed sounds weird now
Peniel’s reactions throughout the video was so funny, I adore him! The concept of milk bags isn’t really surprising but it’s not common where I’m at, don’t think I’ve ever seen it in bags but also as a kid in my mom’s country when I’d go visit we’d get sodas in a bag with a straw so that’s why this isn’t surprising at all.
I find it so funny to see people confused about the milk bags in Ontario. Growing up with them, I didn’t find them odd until I met people from other places. I agree it’s more of a family option, but honestly thinking about it…it saves alot more fridge space! You would have to use so much space for several cartons or jugs, but you put two milk bags together and bam, you got 8 Ls of milk 😂
I’m Brazilian and we have milk bags too. The milk is fresher, but it also goes bad easier. That’s why we switched to cartons. It took me a while to get used to the taste.
Yes we do have milk in cartons too. 😄 A bag has 3 bags of milk. It’s for households that consume a lot of milk. You put one bag in a pitcher specifically made for milk bags. Once in, cut the corner and pour.
I’m o help answer some of the questions: they are in plastic bags comes in sets of 3 which are together in another bag! It’s cheaper that way of you drink lot of milk or have a big fsmily! You buy the container once and just wash it! We had like 3 growing up! But 1 is fine! You take 1 bag out in the container(which isn’t always so easy lol) then cut the tip (got to watch how big or small you cut it though it’ll affect the flow when pouring) you can get cartons which are also popular! Or even jugs but it’s not as common in my city unless you go to the corner store! No they aren’t delivered to our door like in the 20th century we go to the store to buy them lol! They’ll leak if a hole is in it but I’ve never seen one bust open and I’ve dropped them many times!
The first time I ever saw milk in bags, was in Vietnam. As my grandmother owns a convenience store, I saw a ton of local groceries. And as the street vendors also sold drinks in plastic bags, I got used to it.
I remember visiting Canada for a school trip and my host family brought out the milk bag/jug and said "Oh yeah, our milk comes in a bag, the American students we've hosted always seem surprised by it." And we were hahaha. I had thought that was an all Canada thing up until I saw Kevin's VLive. I do think the milk bags are more convenient than glass jars. I remember my family in China used to get deliveries of milk in Jars and there was one time when my sister and I were visiting (we were like 4 or 5), she picked the bottle up, it slipped and shattered everywhere.
Similar in Pakistan. The milkman delivers raw milk in plastic bags (cheaper price-wise). Though there are homogenized/pasteurized cartons and packets available at stores too.
"When I was young, I couldn't carry it 'cause it was so heavy." girl every kid growing up in Toronto - remembering carrying our little milk bags from the local Shoppers Drug Mart - could feel the pain in their arms when he said this ;-;
I feel like people who have seen it, gets what Jacob is describing but it sounds very weird for others. In Toronto, there are milk cartons, and milk jugs. Just cheaper to buy the bags. I live alone and I sometimes freeze the bags. Mostly it’s fine but sometimes, it does leak (but I would say that is my problem). Example, milk carton total 2L is like $4.99, but milk bags total 4L can be $5.50… just example because price can change.
I'm Canadian and I live Toronto. Sure, there are milk bags but there's also milk in cartons and I prefer the ones in the cartons so choose whatever you like I guess. And I don't see anything weird with milk bags though LOL. I've been to Vancouver and plastic bags are banned there so it makes sense milk bags are a no for them and that's just the tip of the iceberg hahaha.
In South Africa we have milk bags aswell, my parents used to buy it alot when i was younger because it was cheaper and convenient i guess , so when Jacob talked about it i was like aah that🤣.
I used to see milk bags when I was little in my country, they are usually freshier than the ones in cartons, also spoils faster than In cartons. I listened the podcast, but came here to be entertained by Peniel's confused face. I wanted to tell him, yes, that's not so weird. 😅
I don’t know if still can but when I was little could get chocolate milk in bags and I don’t know if anyone else remembers these but orange juice in bags! Everything was same as milk but it was orange juice and not normal orange it was a bright orange juice like the one McDonald’s would give us for school activities
I frequent Toronto so I knew about the bags, and I thought it was an entire Canada thing, but not until that vlive did I realize that it was an Ontario thing 😅
To be fair ever since I started buying the bottles I get why people are so perplexed that we use milk bags....BUT why am I only just learning that west coast doesn't use bags?? I thought all of us Canadians were on the same page

We do that here in algeria too and i thought that was the case for evreryone 😭😂😂, we do have cartons too though
Yesss it's part of our day to day life😂😂
Same in Pakistan!

The editing made it funnier LOL Good job, editor-nim 🤣
I love the way Canadians say “bag”. Baeg baeg baeg

jacob’s milk bag never ending saga 😂
It's always milk & cereal obsession with Jacob, he's so funny. 😆😆

West coast had milk bags but more before the 90's. I grew up with them as well.
The first time I ever saw milk in bags, was in Vietnam. As my grandmother owns a convenience store, I saw a ton of local groceries. And as the street vendors also sold drinks in plastic bags, I got used to it.
Yeah I was shocked when I visited
Like how do I drink out of this 😂😂😂
I remember visiting Canada for a school trip and my host family brought out the milk bag/jug and said "Oh yeah, our milk comes in a bag, the American students we've hosted always seem surprised by it." And we were hahaha. I had thought that was an all Canada thing up until I saw Kevin's VLive.

Jacob's "I don't know" tho. Hahaha
Peniel’s is so confused 😂 he like discovered something new haha. In Colombia the milks are also in bags.
Even here in ALGERIA we do have milk bags but also cartons :)))
They are so awesome!! ❤
It’s also a thing in Mexico but they only sell the milk bag(s) early morning
"When I was young, I couldn't carry it 'cause it was so heavy." girl every kid growing up in Toronto - remembering carrying our little milk bags from the local Shoppers Drug Mart - could feel the pain in their arms when he said this ;-;
Growing up in LA schools would also give out milk in little bags so pretty normal here.
I feel like people who have seen it, gets what Jacob is describing but it sounds very weird for others. In Toronto, there are milk cartons, and milk jugs. Just cheaper to buy the bags. AND THEN HIS HAND GESTURES AT 1:33
In South Africa we have milk bags aswell, my parents used to buy it alot when i was younger because it was cheaper and convenient i guess , so when Jacob talked about it i was like aah that🤣.

I used to see milk bags when I was little in my country, they are usually freshier than the ones in cartons, also spoils faster than In cartons.
I listened the podcast, but came here to be entertained by Peniel's confused face. I wanted to tell him, yes, that's not so weird. 😅
Some people reuse the milk bags to make weaved blankets or rugs for those in need!
In Argentina we also have 1L milk bags!
We have a similar thing on algeria too and i never thought it was something bizzare lol
I don’t know if still can but when I was little could get chocolate milk in bags and I don’t know if anyone else remembers these but orange juice in bags! Everything was same as milk but it was orange juice and not normal orange it was a bright orange juice like the one McDonald’s would give us for school activities

We also have milk in plastic bags in Morocco
We have milk and yogurt bags in cuba
Does it matter how milk is sold? I always transfer my store bought milk into a glass pitcher. Bag, carton, or plastic jug it does not matter.
Nah bc my mother said in Puerto Rico they have milk bags too (I told abt the vlive thing) and I was like huh 😃
Baygs 😭
Here in india milk bag is basically like a packet.. we get youghurt or dahi in those too
To be fair ever since I started buying the bottles I get why people are so perplexed that we use milk bags....BUT why am I only just learning that west coast doesn't use bags?? I thought all of us Canadians were on the same page
Hahaha the milk bag! Hahahaha so wait? The milk bag is in entire Canada, right? I’m from MTL. So…
Here in India we've got both; milk bags and milk cartons.
LITERALLY GOING TO PISS MYSELF OVER JACOB RN
am more curious of the origin of Canadian bagged milk
Its basically a milk refill?
Yes, exactly! But it also costs a lot less than the carton options.
it's like an IV bag, but it's milk. it's only in plastic bags cause it's cheaper for the milk companies 😂
This only really seems to be a thing in eastern Canada? I'm from Vancouver, and I've NEVER seen milk bags in the supermarkets.
Maritime canada we have bags of milk too. It's cheaper then buying a shit ton of cartons of milk
😂😂😂
tag yourself - i'm Peniel
actually i think ive seen milk bags in person
I was raised in Nova Scotia. We have them there too, and I remember my school would buy them for students to use during lunch.
I live in Toronto and I can confirm milk bags are really inconvenient…
there are cartons and that's why i buy i dont like the milk bags lmao
