Easily the best explanation and application for the power of the tone curve. All other tutorials just say “curves are powerful”. No one specifies contrast isolation.

Wow, this is really amazing! I never knew how to use Tone Curves. The technics with pinning certain channels and then editing around those or really making your subject pop with contrast customized around them are really nice to know. I will totally give those a try with my next edits!

I haven't even finished the video yet and this has to be one of the best videos on the tone curved I've seen. In any hobby, I think understanding something from a very "technical" perspective can be kind of freeing because you don't have to worry about it as much later.
Learnt more in the first 7 minutes of your video than watching 5 other whole videos together!

This video is brilliant. I’ve been using curves for a long time in PS, but honestly have only ever just adjusted them as a whole. I never played around with separating the RGB channels individually. Maybe one of the best tutorials I have seen on this topic. Thank you. I have been an amateur photographer since my teens in the late 1970s, bur nuanced understanding of Lightroom and Photoshop is still relatively new to me. This post will definitely help me get better results in my edits.

I'm an electrical designer and this is why I explain to drafters why we can't put that bare conductor so close to that steel pole instead of just saying "move it". Thank you!
This was awesome! I only recently got into photography and the first thing I learned about tone curves was basically to "just make an s-curve" but I did not fully really understand why. This tutorial really broke it down and I was so happy to learn that you can use the eye dropper tool to select specific areas. I am so excited to edit my photos now, haha. Thank you so much!

I've watched countless videos on tone curves but all they end up describing is the whites, blacks, midtones, etc...but not the depth of control you can have with them. Thanks for going in depth and explaining how to keep stuff like skin tones the same, nobody else on UA-cam is doing this level of instruction. Thanks again for the tips!
