One of the best parts of this story is how isagi is constantly learning and adapting anytime he sees something new or does something he internalizes it and trys to use it to improve.
I think it looks like whatever Isagi is struggling on Ego goes and talk about it because we are seeing from the POV of Isagi. In Nagi’s movie we see his pov and we see Ego helping them with something different. So maybe that’s why.
Also Isagi decision to play Rin's team in second selection was crucial. Isagi was chosen because he has the best compatibility and dynamic with Rin so if he didn't choose to challenge Rin in the second selection he probably wouldn't be included in this 11 person team. Wild to think about.

All i can hope is that that Blue Lock gets a new home next season, cuz from rumors(tons complaints on animators ends and examples of shit not making it into the show from animators that worked on the project) and from what we can confirm(4 directors left the project but outside that shit is tight lip'd), i just hope blue lock makes it to S3 and gets a new home. This show deserves so much better, the manga is so fire and the anime has all the potential to be too.
couldn’t agree more, I hope they could make it up by really taking the time to animate the NEL Arc next season, I don’t mind waiting 1-2 more years just so they could animate it better.

Just for clarification, Rin is not mad Sae chose Shidou instead of him as you can see Rin doesnt wanna play with Sae cause he wants to crush him and beat him cause of their past, the reason Rin is mad is cause Sae thought the U-20 Strikers were shit and of his own choice he could choose someone that was good enough for his royal passes, and instead of picking Rin he chose Shidou, Sae believes thats Shidou is the better striker of the 2 and most worthy of playing along side him, thats why rin is mad cause he feels defeated against someone he doesnt like
