  • Straight out of the '60s -- here's a rare clip from TV's 'Shindig' featuring Ruth Price and Stan Getz performing "The Telephone Song." (Thank you, James Gavin!) That's Gary Burton on vibes and Gene Cherico (we think) on bass. Can anyone identify the drummer?

    About the band members,
    Of course Gary Burton on vibes, but on bass could be Chuck Israel.
    On drums I would say Joe Hunt

      Denis Ouellet yeah its joe hunt i think. they were all a part of getz group at the time.

      Nope. Stan played drums left-handed (even though he was a right-handed person!).

    The sound is so bad.... it almost sounds like there are groupies screaming in the audience after Getz's solo.
