At first he was very ill-mannered. Later, he kept me in mind and became my most trusted person.Hearing what he said, I felt very sad that the children are being taught about India in schools. For Sikhs British were better than Mughals anyday. Had the Sikh not supported, British would have lost India in 1857. After that Sikhs were recruited into British India Army on large scale. At one time 40% of British India Army consisted of Sikhs, because they helped British in 1857.

War happens between govt vs govt After losing to British due to Dogra treachery Punjab was annexed & became part of British Empire Sikh rebelled only once on a large scale under Netaji Subhas (INA). 60% of INA was Sikhs. British punished Sikhs by partitioning Punjab & giving Lahore (capital of Punjab, just 13 kms from border) to Pakistan & Bengal (Dhakha to Pakistan) Thus Punjab & Bengal paid a terrible price for rebellion. As a Reward, India later called Sikhs terrorists & Bengalis living in India as Bangladeshis (even today Bengalis have to prove their nationality to get a passport) After defeat of Japan INA had to surrender. The soldiers were sent back to units all over India. Indian army rebelled after listening to the returned soldiers about Netaji Subhash. They stopped saluting British officers & disobeyed their orders. To stop this rebellion British would have to send lakhs of soldiers from England. Public of England were not willing to fight more wars just after winning WW2 in which England was devastated & had lost millions of young men. Thus British punished Punjabis & Bengalis, gave power to Gandhi & Nehru. India didnt have its own President till mid 50's & had to pay Crores to England as Royalty till 1960 So remember when they say Gandhi got Azadi by peaceful satyagraha.... It was a big fat Lie Countries are not won or lost by begging. It was Netaji Subhas & INA who were the reason behind Indias real AZADI

Britishers punished Muslims by -
- Killing all high ranking & rich from that community
- Urdu & Farsi were banned & replaced by Hindi in official work.
- Muslims in Army, Police & Bureaucracy were drastically cut down
In 1857 Sikhs supported British whole heartedly because they didn't want Mughal rule to come back & were also angry with other native Indians who formed the Bulk of British Army who attacked Punjab after Ranjit Singh's death.
For Sikhs British were better than Mughals anyday.
Had the Sikh not supported, British would have lost India in 1857.
After that Sikhs were recruited into British India Army on large scale. At one time 40% of British India Army consisted of Sikhs, because they helped British in 1857.

Before 1857 Sikhs fought 2 wars (after Ranjit Singh's death) against British as two nations (British vs Punjab)
It was not a rebellion.
British bought off Dogra officers with Gold & promise of Land. Jammu Kashmir was given to Dogras under this deal.
Rebellion happens against government. War happens between govt vs govt
After losing to British due to Dogra treachery Punjab was annexed & became part of British Empire
Sikh rebelled only once on a large scale under Netaji Subhas (INA). 60% of INA was Sikhs.
British punished Sikhs by partitioning Punjab & giving Lahore (capital of Punjab, just 13 kms from border) to Pakistan & Bengal (Dhakha to Pakistan)
Thus Punjab & Bengal paid a terrible price for rebellion.
As a Reward, India later called Sikhs terrorists & Bengalis living in India as Bangladeshis (even today Bengalis have to prove their nationality to get a passport)
After defeat of Japan INA had to surrender. The soldiers were sent back to units all over India. Indian army rebelled after listening to the returned soldiers about Netaji Subhash. They stopped saluting British officers & disobeyed their orders.
To stop this rebellion British would have to send lakhs of soldiers from England. Public of England were not willing to fight more wars just after winning WW2 in which England was devastated & had lost millions of young men.
Thus British punished Punjabis & Bengalis, gave power to Gandhi & Nehru.
India didnt have its own President till mid 50's & had to pay Crores to England as Royalty till 1960
So remember when they say Gandhi got Azadi by peaceful satyagraha.... It was a big fat Lie
