I have been buying lego technic sets for a long time now but I've been getting increasingly disappointed with technic sets lately in terms of price and poor/lazy design so I thought I'd try something different on my two weeks off from work over Xmas. I purchased this set from CaDA in my local toy store and I've just spent the last week building it. Even though the quality of parts are about 90% that of lego this is without doubt the best technic set I have ever built to date. Thijs design is so clever it blows my mind, it is the most beautiful technic car of all my cars, porsche, ferarri, bugatti, lambo etc. I'm interested to know if Thijs asked lego if they were interested? If they turned him down what a big mistake that was. Lego designers- you better up your game with guys like this snapping at your heels. Superb superb superb!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
I'm actively thinking to buy CaDa's set with AMG license but it has lots of power capabilities I don't like. May be I should consider this set because everyone are happy with it's quality. Or both. They'll cost like single technic top-tier set.
@@deletedchanneI yes I've got the Mercedes licensed one too, it is fiddly routing all the wires to the power functions but a fantastic set all the same you won't be disappointed!
An advance warning for people with big hands: be careful there is a lot of fiddling involved.... The idea of making a car in 12 modules is really great. Building the modules is a solid challenge, but a lot of fun. But I must say that putting the modules together is not the easiest thing. So a 9 for the idea and a 7- for the final stage. Cada's technic parts are fine, but the system parts could use some work. Once finished, the car looks instantly recognisable. so that's a plus.
I got mine mostly built and realized I had one of the differential boxes backwards and the gear shift doesn't work, and the wheels don't turn in the same direction. To fix it, I'd basically have to take the whole thing apart. THAT was frustrating... Well, I'm in my late 40's, it's a display piece, I'm not going to be playing with it, rolling it around on the floor (at least that's what I tell myself to make me feel better).

Really cool set. If this was LEGO, make it the same scale as the Technic Ford GT
Which model would you recommend: the Viva Hypercar or the older model Italian Super Car (C61043W) ?
Cool video and nice car!
