I just picked up a 77 cj5 myself.. The previous owner swapped in a amc 360 and a disc brake dana 30 but left the t150 in and kept it manual brakes lol I'm planing to find a t18 for it and hang a brake booster Only reason I want a t18 is for granny low otherwise the t150 seems to be holding up just fine behind the 360
Awesome. I’m going to try to retain the T150 in this and maybe sell the T15 in the other one. This will be keeping the 258 and not seeing much hard trail riding. Thanks for the confidence booster on the T150!
Im sure youll be just fine then.. the previous owner of my jeep drove it for 7 years with the amc 360/t150 with 35s before he parked it, the strain of manual steering and brakes was too much for him as he got older with his arthritis.. I Subscribed, Cant wait to see the next update video
Hey man, I forgot about marking the yoke and shaft when taking mine apart. Is this going to be a problem? Thanks for these videos, btw. My grandparents gave me a 77 cj5 a couple months ago. I have it torn down all the way except the axles, motor, trans, and transfer case. Going to paint the axles and put in new bearings and seals, but going to run the drive train as-is. Only has 50k miles on it and minimal rust, due to spending its life in the high desert of California, but these Jeep’s seem to be rust buckets so I’m going to mitigate all of that by stripping and painting. Anyway, I really appreciate these videos. Thanks again.
Very cool! You’ll probably be fine. It’s just a way to help ensure you don’t get driveline vibrations. Technically if you didn’t have vibrations before and you put it back in the same way, you won’t have vibrations when it’s back together. Odds are that you’ll be just fine
I am not familiar with shops in that area. I know that Holly from the Mischief Maker UA-cam channel lives up that way. She could probably recommend somewhere for you
Great content!!!!
Nice job! I love budget projects from real people who do it just for love of Jeeps!
I’m working on two ‘55 CJ5’s here in Northern California!
Heck yea! That’s awesome. I’ve been too busy to work on it the last few weeks. I’m anxious to get back on it next week
Awesome tip on the cardboard pattern, perfect! 👌🏻
65seejayfive haha it definitely comes in handy!
So nice to have a parts jeep to pick from the best of the two!! I keep watching my new friend!
Thank you and welcome! I’m ready to stop tearing down and start building.

How do you like your pressure washer and what kind is it?
That pressure washer works really well! It is a Troy-Bilt 2800 PSI, 8.75HP.
@@ThatJeepAdventure thanks for the feedback. I will look into getting one.
Good tip using cardboard. Thanks for sharing
It’s a lifesaver! A buddy showed me once and I’ve been doing it ever since
@@ThatJeepAdventure good to have helpful buddy's thanks for info
How much are they worth in fair condition I just got one with no title I paid 2500 for
Kind of a wide price range on these. $2500 isn’t too bad if it runs down the road and isn’t rusted out. Can you apply for a title?
Did u go back 258i6
Yup going back with 258
@@ThatJeepAdventure are they good motors
@@rodneyturner5091 Very reliable motors for sure!
@@ThatJeepAdventure what makes them so reliable the straight six design thanks for your help....
