I am very impressed with this tutorial! I never knew you could sand cardboard. I also did not think of Shellacking the part prior to painting. I subscribed after the first tutorial.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and years of skills. I am always so sad to see waste so finding I can make things with cardboard is great! Now if I could just figure out how to recycle or make use of my grandma's medicine bottles." besides holding small things, like pins and tacts." Love a brilliant mind, wish I had skills like this. Have a great day!
A half length of the side material could be used as a "girdle" to hold the butt weld in place while the cylinder dries to form the seam just so. Or masking tape in mild tension, actually.
Love this video! Do you think you could teach us how to mold using thin plastic sheets found at hardware stores? I watch your videos primarily to up my cosplay and prop game!
..would have preferred it with COC for background musuc :) - Could you show us how we could incorporate these techniques in designing miniature buildings and structures. .!?! Thanks!
Hi, where can I get those heavy looking weights, which you call supports in the other video. I can't seem to use the right keywords to find something to hold my cardboard at right angles while drying. Thanks!
Mark D Maker You are most welcome, glad you enjoyed it. Don't forget to check out my Kickstarter campaign for the "Alfred" Backpack hanger kck.st/2Yi2Qnd thanks for your comment and support much appreciated.
Your videos are fantastic, I regret that I found them a bit late. Hope u will do a mockup video like with the foam core one. Btw, i'm going to make a boat model, u think thin foam core or card board would be better? And in my country, i think the foam cores are more like compressed paper, but we still have the 1mm or 2mm type.
You make all this look super easy but it reflects years of Doing It? Same with your approach to simple shapes in foams, the tricks for each material came at the art of working those materials & having the right tools/supplies at hand.... I like both these & I just learned of HDPE Plastics which has lots of uses in the model I'm about to attempt. Nice video....
Hi-- I love your videos. Do you have a video or can you point me to one that explains how to bend corrugated cardboard the way it is done for curved cat scratch pads? Thanks!
Sheet metal is not folded. It's broke or bent. You bend sheet metal with a metal brake press not a metal folding press. Hence broke not folded. 40 years as a welder / fabricator I have never heard anyone use the term folded metal. Just saying...
Ok, fair enough. good call. Don't forget to check out my Kickstarter campaign for the "Alfred" Backpack hanger kck.st/2Yi2Qnd thanks for your comment and support much appreciated.

With curves it is also helpful if you know the direction of grain of the cardboard and cut it accordingly.

Great tips on cardboard construction! That glue applicator is cool. Thanks for sharing. : )

Thank you for making and posting this video. Nice work on those models.
Beautiful! Very helpful tips and tools. Thank you for posting this.
What the god is that "cardboard" you wrapped around the edges. Its so flexible!
You can also seal it with PVA glue. Works with MDF as well.
what the thinnest mdf you have used?
I just use super glue to seal the cardboard before painting. Granted, I do have to work fast, but I feel like it gives a similar result to shellac.
Good to know!
I really appreciate your work.. you are amazing
Wow! Great to see how this is done. Thank you.

Is there any alternative way to cut out the cylinder shape without using the fiskar
good work! does glue fry out in the needle? do you have to replace the needle?
