BSA Seabase High Adventure STEM Camp

Caleb and Jonathan got to attend a week long STEM camp at the BSA Scouts Seabase High Adventure Camp in the Florida Keys. Activities included fishing, shark tagging, kayaking, paddle boarding, visit to Key West and two days of Snorkeling. The scouts worked half a day in the environmental center's coral nursery and spent the evenings in a classroom setting learning about marine life, coral restoration, among many other things. The scouts had to research a marine topic of their choice and give a presentation at the end of the week. They also made a "barge" of recycled materials and competed to see who's could hold the most weight.
By far the snorkeling was the favorite and the reef visited is one of the most beautiful on the planet.
When hiking, or on the ocean, always practice the Leave No Trace principles and let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return.
