The US manipulated the price by flooding the world with cheap LNG and the price dropped to €175 per m2, the polish government then took Russia to court, as the poles wanted to follow the stock market price as it was cheaper, Poland won in court and Russia agreed. Then the US ramped up the proxy war in Ukraine and blew up Nord stream 2, the price of LNG went to nearly €1000 per m2, this allowed the US to import their LNG into Europe as it was now economically viable as before it was not. The Europeans were caught on the hop, having to pay the Russians the raised stock market price. This was a US financial scam on the Europeans. The poles know this too well and too late, that's why you had the farmers riots in Poland, as the same US corporations were trying to sell off Ukrainian farm products under the price the polish farmers could grow it. This has been the US plan all along as blackwater and the Carlisle group now own over 1.2 million hectares in Ukrainian farmland. The US will canabalize Europe to stay afloat. Reuters quoted in 2022 "US recession staved via exports to Europe"! This will happen more and more in Europe as the US tries to save the dollar. Time for Europe to choose what they want. Cheap Russian LNG or enslavement by the USA.

Yamal LNG supplied to France, Spain and the Netherlands comes from the St Petersburg plant in the Baltic and soon also from the new Viborg plant. These plants take their supplies from the Yamal pipeline that would normally feed Germany via the Nordstream lines or which only one is now operational though Germany refuses to take gas from it.
It doesn't matter where you buy gas from you're still dependent, the difference is that from Russia that has a border against Europe it was cheaper and through a pipe line.
Don't most LNG producers sell to brokers (most in Rotterdam) and then they take the orders and route ships to the customers docks. You really don't know whose gas it is, just that it meets a list of specifics.
