When I first had the "window pizza" at the Boardwalk Resort back in 2005/2006, it was excellent. Around 2009 or a few years later, it went to the dogs and was basically the usual pizza one finds at any of the Disney parks. It's good to hear that the pizza is good again.
Oct 2019 - Ample Hills & Big River , stopped in the afternoon after taking Skyliner over from Hollywood. Decided to eat on Boardwalk to avoid some of the busy dining in Epcot. Hit Big River because no wait. I love their nachos. The rest is pretty ordinary and really miss french fries. They are chips only. If the weather is good, sit outside, I find their tables to be too small and they get quickly crowded with dishes and glasses. THEN gotta have ice cream. Lots of unique flavors at Ample Hills with no wait. I imagine the line here gets crazy in the evening, so get your ice cream after lunch. The flight is a super cool idea because there are so many flavors you've never seen before. It's pricey and thought it seemed like not a lot of cream for the price, but in the end it wound up being more than enough. Next time I'm trying that butter cake. I went for peppermint patty something. Yummy. Can't pass up peppermint.
Just stayed at the Boardwalk Inn in early September - LOVELY hotel and so very close to EPCOT and a short boat ride over to Hollywood Studios too. It is our favorite resort though we do treat ourselves to the Innkeeper's Lounge level (which is basically the concierge lounge level) - the cast members there are amazing and the lounge has tons of options all day long. Ample Hills creamery had several LOVELY cast members that were very nice, and incredibly tasty ice cream. We also had excellent breakfast sandwiches at the Boardwalk Bakery. Also, tip to those who don't have kids (probably very few people who read/watch this blog), Boardwalk Inn does have a "quiet pool" in addition to the scary clown pool. It's not adults only, but it is a nice quiet place to chill for a while while enjoying the pool and some sun.
So happy you made this video! The boardwalk is my favorite resort, and I just came back from a fantastic stay there last week!.Thanks for always making the most amazing videos ever, they have literally helped us on all our trips!🏰💕
Glad that AJ was a bit more complimentary on Flying Fish this time! My absolute favorite WDW restaurant. More than 1 year before I go back and I'm counting the days...
Did you say Boardwalk? Received the notice, left the shopping cart in Publix and ran out to the car to watch AJ and DFB! Can finish shopping for our upcoming WDW trip later! Happy Wednesday from the Street People of the Mouse! 👧👦🐭🏰
Trattoria al Forno also offers a non-character breakfast (at least they did this past January). They have a side room of the main dining area and it is pretty quiet in there even when they do a Princess parade in the main room. It's really the only place on the Boardwalk to get a sit-down breakfast.
Boardwalk Joe's - yes, we were there this past summer. We grabbed some pina coladas. I had the smoothie, it was really good. It was right after an evening rain, so it wasn't crowded and was a nice break after running around all day.
We stayed in the villas in September. Had the pizza which was delicious although a very long wait for it. My daughter stopped by Joes for a margarita on numerous occasions. The opening times for To Go were weird. When you think they were open, they weren't so you could be standing in line waiting for the window to open but no one opened the window to say we are shut. Bakery is to die for.
Love the Boardwalk! My favorite area on Disney property. I ate at the Flying Fish pre-reno but I haven't post-reno. When I did eat there it was excellent but they have since changed chefs so I'm sure it's different.
Re Pizza Window: there was a time when it was set off from the restaurant behind it by a wall that was only about 7 or 8 feet high. If you were seated facing it, you would occasionally see spinning pizza dough flying up in the air!
EXCELLENT TIMING! We'll staying there in 33 days. Haven't been to Disney in 4 long years! Thanks for the great vids, A.J. We've watched them all AND bought the Food and Wine guide from your website.
Was so excited to find out you made this video. I love the boardwalk and a lot of places to eat. Even when i am not staying there i still make a effort to come over, walk around and eat. It is one of the best resorts in Disney World. Thank you for making this video. Love you AJ!
I love the boardwalk. I happen to think that the margaritas at Boardwalk Joes are some of the best on property. Also leaping libations offers frozen and mixed drinks that while pricey are delicious and go down very easily. Flying Fish has amazing food! It’s a foodies restaurant and not for kids imho. Great for date night!
May 2019 - grabbed a full pizza with my 2 boys after coming back to Boardwalk area at the end of a Hollywood Studios day. We were too late for restaurants so we put in an order and waited abut 40ish minutes. I thought it was really good. Could have been hungry at 11:00pm BUT would totally go back. Not a lot of seating, just a few tables SO if you're really close you could take back to the room. We were across the water at Yacht so we just kept our eyes open for a table to become free.
I love listening to your videos to and from work! Makes me feel like I’m in Disney even though I’m all the way up in NY! We ate at the Brewery a few years ago. The food really was super poor quality and my sister almost broke a tooth on a small rock that was in her salad. They gave us the dinner for free because of that which was nice but eh... would never go back there again!
ESPN introduced me to PBJ burgers, hung out in Belle Vue before my wedding ceremony drinking champagne I miss the awesome ice cream place they used to have AND miss the old Flying Fish- New is good but definitely agree that it disappoints if you went before renovations- had my wedding dinner there!
I stayed at Boardwalk for the first time just last week! It was my first time staying in that area and I was SO excited!! Overall, the dining was just okay and is the main reason I don't plan on staying there again. The food quality wasn't great, even though there were a lot of options. I didn't think the BW Bakery was a great quick service option. It had okay treats but not a lot of meal choices. The pizza counter was terrible. We couldn't even eat it. The margaritas were serviceable at Joe's, but I'd rather go into Epcot for a margarita, if possible. Trattoria al Fornos was pretty good. I think the Boardwalk is in really need of a quick service with a more diverse variety of quality meal options (instead of snacks and treats). I'm thinking something similar to Captain Cook's or The Mara. If it had that, I'd be much likely to go back.
I want like a full blown guide of each Theme Parks. For example What rides should I go on first which place should I have bfast lunch, dinner in each specific park. But like I want it as time orientated as possible. Fastest way to do most things, the shortest lines to eat etc. Doesn't have to be the best food. Basically I'm saying A go in an out situation. I can't stay for long period of hours, due to my mom being sick. For example if I go early morning, what should I do fast etc. Till 4 in the afternoon maybe or less. ( specifically Disney world )
A guide like that would be impossible in terms of food because there is absolutely NO way to know how long lines might be at a particular place at a particular time of day. Obviously you'd want to avoid peak meal times if you're looking for a shorter line. As for rides, the general rule-of-thumb is to arrive at your park of choice by rope drop, hustle straight over to what is known to be the most popular ride first, and then go to the next popular, etc.
I don’t care how bad the pizza is, when I arrive at 10:30 pm after flying for two hours and not eating for quite a while because airport food is a scam and I want to pass out, that pizza is a godsend.
Great video, AJ! The Boardwalk Villas are our resort of choice because of the walking distance to EPCOT and DHS. Also, we adore all of the entertainment and date night options. Ample Hills is amazing, especially that butter cake! I agree that the food at Big River is subpar - which is really disappointing since the beer is really good. I would love to see them put in a Brew Hub or HopCity craft beer place on the Boardwalk - it would do really well! We are considering Trattoria al Forno's character breakfast for our upcoming trip (January 2019)- we love to try something new. Thank you for your awesome review!
TY Becki for your take on the Boardwalk! We're considering staying there next Fall, as we always rent DVC Points for one of our Disney Vacations each year!
Great job, as always. AJ! Yep - I call it the scary a** clown pool that throws up children! LOL. Yes - VERY scary, especially at night! When my DVC studio overlooked this, I made SURE my drapes were kept CLOSED! :) I still miss Spoodles (especially for breakfast!) and Kouzzina! :) Haven't been to the BW pizza window in about 10 years, but when I did get it - it was VERY expensive, and just "meh"", especially for a Joisey girl like me! :)
I live in New Jersey I go to the boardwalk quite often and Atlantic City or any of our shore boardwalks. the best part is the food. I didn't see cheesesteaks ,you don't see Hoagie, cheese fries loaded with the works or you don't even see cheese fries Pizza. A lot of our pizza has crazy cool toppings. You can pick from 15 different kinds of funnel cake. You can get sausage pepper and onions. Deep fried Oreos, deep fried Twinkies. I mean anything you can think of deep-fried the boardwalk does it. So it's a shame that this Boardwalk video of places to eat didn't have anything cool that represents the boardwalk except for one company had a third-party little booth that's sold deep fried corn dogs like what. It's a shame because Disney is really losing I think a popular food spot that they could really amp up. So I would just go eat somewhere else in epcot
Can we all just agree that the next renovation needs to just demolish that scary clown pool and make it something that isn’t going to haunt my dreams? 😫
Really, if they have torn down other "scary" animatronics, or images for the sake of kids, why is this clown still up when clearly almost everyone hates it. It´s not a deal breaker cause the boardwalk is still beautiful, but I´d rather go to the other pools.
I do not understand what is scary about this clown. It's clearly a turn-of-the-century circus clown. Not the clown from "It." They're different. Being scared of all clowns because of a few scary clowns is like being scared of all people because of a few scary people.
All of the places on Disney property take Disney gift cards. Not sure about the magic bands, though. I think they are just for the parks, but I could be wrong.
Stayed at Boardwalk in last week in August. Loved it overall (including the clown pool and Ample Hills ice cream!) One big complaint was that Disney dining plan QS not accepted at the "To Go" stand. In short, unless I did not find it, there is nowhere at this resort where one can get a kids' QS meal with fries (nuggets and fries, hot dog and fries, etc....) No fries were available at the pool bar. We always do the dining plan, and normally never have issues finding food for our kids.....As the parent of a very fussy eater who relies on staples such as nuggets and fries, this was frustrating!
As someone who stays at boardwalk whenever I'm in disney, I'm pretty disappointed in the food options. Everything is pretty mediocre except for flying fish.
I have a family member that is so afraid of clowns, she says no to that pool too! Oh well, that might be our ticket to stay at The Beach Club with Stormalong Bay!
Anyone else think the boardwalk pizza is not that terrible? Mind you, I’ve always had a full fresh pizza and never a slice where you don’t know how long it’s been sitting out, but I truly think it’s decent pizza! Seriously, I’ve eaten worse pizza in my years 😝
Another fantastic vid. I'd love to hear about sustainable food in the parks - high-welfare meat, responsibly sourced seafood, organic vegetarian and vegan :)
Your best bet for that would be Sunshine Seasons at the Land pavilion in Epcot. Most of their items are organic or responsibly sourced. And the gardens that grow in the Land pavilion provide the produce for the Disney-owned restaurants all over the property.
Im A Sucker For a Fun Accent Too, You Know? Just Keeps It Interesting. AJ Does An Amazing Job Inflecting And Keeping The Way She Talks Interesting, Even Though She Has A Similar Accent To Mine.
Trattoria al Forno was was of the worst dinners I have ever had in Disney World!!! I love to cook Italian food and my own is much better than the food served there! It was so bad that I could tell the pasta wasn't even cooked in salted water! I ordered Past Puttanesca, the sauce is supposed to be creamy and fluid. It was a big clump on my plate! Needless to say, will never eat there again!
Fake laughs. So much fake laughter! Still, I haven't eaten funnel cake since the last time I tried it at Boardwalk. It was so good, so perfect, I haven't wanted to ruin it with inferior funnel cake, so haven't tried it since. Also, I love Belle Vue Lounge, especially sitting on the balcony. Relaxing. Big Grille? I used to go to one in Chattanooga. This one? Definitely not. ESPN Zone? My youngest son lives in the area. Misses Zingers. I miss Kouzinna for breakfast. Flying Fish? Nothing special.
When I first had the "window pizza" at the Boardwalk Resort back in 2005/2006, it was excellent. Around 2009 or a few years later, it went to the dogs and was basically the usual pizza one finds at any of the Disney parks.
It's good to hear that the pizza is good again.
This is part of the reason we will only stay at Yacht and Beach on our Disney visits. The Chocolate Confusion dessert at Big River is unreal.

I made friends with the funnel cart! Our treat on the way back from Epcot and HS xx
We've made a few stops at that cart when visiting the Boardwalk a few months ago! So Good!
@@mousestreetdvc they varied in size though, dome a bit thin and crunchy others a bit more plump! X
I love your channel!! It gets me so excited about going to Disney and it's so helpful too!
Glad that AJ was a bit more complimentary on Flying Fish this time! My absolute favorite WDW restaurant. More than 1 year before I go back and I'm counting the days...

Just a side note on the Pizza Window - We had a couple of slices last summer and found it to be very good!

Just got back from Boardwalk yesterday. Had a great time and the food was fantastic! Miss WDW already!
The Boardwalk is my favorite resort for food without a doubt!! So many sweet treats and hidden specialties
Ahhh.... Fair food at unfair prices!! Love it!
You need to make these videos again but after Covid. Everything has changed
I'm glad this showed up on my main page today (4/18/22), as I'll be staying there in two months (June '22)!
I think you should do a video that is a throw down of all the Italian Restaurants in Disney.
Love the Boardwalk! My favorite area on Disney property.
I ate at the Flying Fish pre-reno but I haven't post-reno. When I did eat there it was excellent but they have since changed chefs so I'm sure it's different.

Was so excited to find out you made this video. I love the boardwalk and a lot of places to eat. Even when i am not staying there i still make a effort to come over, walk around and eat. It is one of the best resorts in Disney World. Thank you for making this video. Love you AJ!
Stayed last summer. Loved it. Pizza is crap but tastes so good at 11pm
When are you going to Disney next?! I’m going on Saturday for 6 days I’d LOVE to meet you! 💕 your videos helped me plan my trip
That clown is terrifying and I'm not even scared of clowns. It's even worse at night when the eyes are lit up.
Oh no.
I love the boardwalk. I happen to think that the margaritas at Boardwalk Joes are some of the best on property. My wife and I really enjoyed Flying Fish and highly recommend it. Same with dinner at Trattoria al Forno.
I am deciding beside this hotel and the Swan for my next trip.

The funnel cake stand is 😍😍
I’ve been waiting for this!! Yay!

Pizza has improved much here.
Going to boardwalk club this week
The To Go stand has amazing greasy food best onion rings YUMMY
solid greasy options for sure....but frustrating that they do not do dining plan QS meals!
Thanks so much! We are staying there in 3 weeks!
I don’t care how bad the pizza is, when I arrive at 10:30 pm after flying for two hours and not eating for quite a while because airport food is a scam and I want to pass out, that pizza is a godsend.

Would you recommend getting a disney meal plan if staying for 5 days?
My husband and I will enjoy the Boardwalk in Nov 2019. We won't have ro eat any where else with all of the options.
Going to be traveling with my little sister-law she is 11 is it worth going to the boardwalk? Noticed a few places were 21 and over
Ill be there on the 8th!
I’m staying there in two weeks!!!
I went to Abracadabar once. I always wanted to try absynthe. The drink was meh, but the waiter was super nice and attentive.
Also dance hall does weddings
Hiya guys. Love your work. When are you planning an AKL food tour?
We've already done it! check out our food tour play list.
@@DFBGuide i cant see it. I can see the animal kingdom park but not lodge

Marisa G Parra I totally agree
Such a classy place but Clown must GO!
Having a fear of clowns is a genuine phobia. It has been diagnosed in people long before "IT" was even written.
Is there a hard ticketed event or any event in Disney or in universal in March??
Can't sleep, clown will eat me.
Hey thanks for the video but do the little shops along the walk take the magic bands, Disney Gift cards, or just cash?
All of the places on Disney property take Disney gift cards. Not sure about the magic bands, though. I think they are just for the parks, but I could be wrong.
Is there any place you can have breakfast without reservations and has an indoor sitting spot?
The scary clown pool is the reason I book BC & YC over Boardwalk lol. Pennywise anyone?
Oh I just love Disney :)
I love Funnel Cake😍😛😎👍✌💜💖💗
Ample Hills is the best ice cream I have ever had!!
I thought Trattoria al Forno was fantastic, even better than Jiko. It really is underrated and needs a 2nd look.
Is the original carrot cake back on the menu?
Stayed at Boardwalk in last week in August. Loved it overall (including the clown pool and Ample Hills ice cream!)
One big complaint was that Disney dining plan QS not accepted at the "To Go" stand. In short, unless I did not find it, there is nowhere at this resort where one can get a kids' QS meal with fries (nuggets and fries, hot dog and fries, etc....) No fries were available at the pool bar.

You could have gone across the Lake to the Beach Club and got food at the Beaches & Cream take-out window.
Where can I go to get Mickey waffles at Boardwalk?
Nice video
I just went to the boardwalk on Sunday so this video is a couple days to late
The pizza place also has vegan pizza!!
I love fried ice cream, it’s quite an Asian speciality ❤️
As someone who stays at boardwalk whenever I'm in disney, I'm pretty disappointed in the food options. Everything is pretty mediocre except for flying fish.
Please do animal kingdom lodge food tour!!!!!
The carts that are not run by Disney, does that mean they don't accept ddp?
Check out their menus. If they have the DDP symbol next to anything, then they accept it there.
😆🎤🎼🎶Underneath the Boardwalk, Boardwalk🎵
What ever happened to Kat Koras place ?
I'm pretty sure it became Trattoria Al Forno
Yeah I figured that’s were it used to be shame we went for breakfast in 2013 before and Epcot day and though it was quite enjoyable
Yes, Kat Koras closed and Trattoria Al Forno opened in its place.
my kids won't go near the scary clown pool!!
I have a family member that is so afraid of clowns, she says no to that pool too! Oh well, that might be our ticket to stay at The Beach Club with Stormalong Bay!
Can the whole family go into JellyRolls?
Make a vídeo with all te gf items that are in the diferents parks or/and the restaurants and places that have gf menus. Please.
I call that pool the Pennywise pool
I hope my room doesn't look out over "creepy clown pool." I'm TERRIFIED of clowns!!! If it did, I would ask to move!
Fun fact/conspiracy: The design for “scary clown pool” has totally been ripped off from Australia’s Luna Parks! :)
Shalini Raj I believe it is actually called the “Luna Park Pool”.

We had a few slices recently and actually found in to be pretty good! Would definitely get it again and found it better than most resort pizza!
I ordered 2 of the personal pizzas 2 weeks ago and they were TERRIBLE.
I actually like ESPN Club.
they should have changed the name to Boardwalk Jose's
Another fantastic vid. I'd love to hear about sustainable food in the parks - high-welfare meat, responsibly sourced seafood, organic vegetarian and vegan :)

Is Adam Coming Back? I Really Miss His Voiceover Work.
Wynnsday From BestBuy I second this.
Dont Get Me Wrong, I *LOVE* AJ. I Just Miss Adam's Voice. Haven't Heard Anything From Him Since The Backlot Express Video Last Year.
I agree Adam has a lovely voice - AJ as well but it was great to hear them both!

We used to love Al Forno but they lost their edge starting about a year ago... It sucks now.
Ample Hills I will never ever go again. The most rudest people (workers) I have ever come in contact with in Disney World.
Needless to say if you really like good food..skip the boardwalk because the pickings are slim to none,,
The good news is you walk over to the Beach and Yacht Club for some pretty good meals! Love the Cape May Cafe and Yachtsman Steakhouse!
Mouse Street TV Exactly, the relatively short walk to Cape May Cafe was no big deal, and we loved it for breakfast!
Wow, that pizza looks terrible
Wow seems like the food here is really below average and well below Disney standards. Wanted to stay here. But now will not
Fake laughs.
